Honestly they've been pretty regularly posting stuff about FriendlyJordies for a bit, they have about 9 articles on him (one from Gizmodo which is under the Pedestrian branch). When it's straight reporting what happened they don't include an author, but when it includes some level of analysis or opinion they show them. I don't know why they'd do it, but my best guess would be a kinda show of loyalty, that you're signing your name on an insulting header and filling your article with mistruths to prove yourself and gain some attention from higher ups

They explained how they intentionally took news stories from actual news publications, pumped up the headlines, then pumped them up again to make them as inflammatory and click-baity as possible.
