New maps were added to Black Ops 3 with the recent release of the Eclipse DLC! The Eclipse DLC has 4 new multiplayer maps including Knockout, Rift, Spire, and Verge (World at War Banzai remake map) along with a new zombies map Zetsubou No Shima!
I decided to check out all of the maps by myself for a bit and explore, only to find possible future weapon DLC on different maps…
I wanted to see how the maps would play after that, so I decided to host an 18 man open lobby after. We mostly did 9v9 quickscoping on Safeguard, and the new maps actually play pretty well!

Iirc, all those gun models you see on Rift are cut weapons. The M27 and R870 were meant to be in the game but got scrapped, their models being the only remnants of them.

Maybe the one map with a volcano is a place in use during black ops 2 and it was abandoned recently and they didn't obtain newer weapons. Or it's just a reference to black ops 2.
mercanarymusic sir, rift is a map caused by the egg thingy in zambi crew, where the portals become unstsble and lead to diffrent dimensions, so half of hijacked, half of tranzit, and half of other maps.

On Rift, you can shoot into a window to kill a person in the middle of the map, but they can't shoot out of it.
