As a 2017 Honda Civic Type R (FK8) owner, I can tell you that the shifting in this car is stellar! However, there is always room for improvement, so now that I've done a few simple modifications, I've really improved the quality of the shifter!

I like the very mechanical sound of the shifting at the end of the video, really takes you back to the times when the driving experience was top priority
It's really lovely, it's part of what makes the car so good
i like the part where he sat on it
Went with this combo on my FK8. The taller shifter and adjusted pedal spacing now reminds me of my BB6 with the SH knob. Must be a Prelude driver thing
Wow, that's quite tall. You don't find the throw too long? Would the shift boot look as oem without the nut and installed lower?
This will sound completely crazy but I’ve noticed this for awhile now. After my trans warmed up, the colder it is outside, the better my shift is. For example tonight, outside temp is about 25, all my shifts on street road is smooth, non of that notchiness on my normal below 3k shifts. It’s mind boggling.
That’s interesting
@@FlyinGato Last night at low 30s, my shifts again were all smooth. Mine is july 2018 built.
Good times! Thank you
What shift knob is thag
Do an install vid on mugen push start button
Would you sell your oem knob??
Oh yeah
More mods!
The review of the new items will be out Thursday!! 😁😁😁
Why so heavy?
Aluminum or steel?
IMO I would have gotten titanium
stainless steel, I like the extra weight, makes shifting much better
nice
Quite a difference in weight 1 pound holy crap, I don't think the Japanese Engineers would approve
TBH you're right 1 pound is a big leap from 140 grams..........BUT too each their own I guess
Let the flying Gato pinche vato do as he wishes with that fk8 type r sedan civic ( :
Yessss
Wrx videos plz
Roger that, my parts are in , it’s time for a rebuild!
1.16__lbs rounds to 1.2lbs :)
I miss the Subie
She'll be running around as my daily starting in January, can't wait!
Its 65$ why did you say the whole thing cost 200$
The shift knob plus Acuity pedal spacer 😁😁
Dont like the ugly long shifter. Looks like 💩 honestly. Put the oem one back one
I can make it much shorter, the weight makes it much better, and the lever makes shifting buttery smooth now
So ugly & long (thats what she said, lol!)
OEM shift nob is gorgeous & short dnt see a reason to change. Pedals I understand. But everyone has their own taste!
This is my opinion. Now owning the Type R for 2 months its the most boring car I have owned. Ok, yes its fast at top end and but who the fuck is going to take it on track. I am an older guy and this is my first new car, and I think the choice was fair enough based on the the alternatives. Yes its cool enough, but there is no raucous car feeling. I also own a 20 year old Porsche V8 and although not as fast obviously, its like a million times more fun to drive. The Type R is dead boring, the only redeeming feature is that its not going cost money on repairs for I think the next 10 years. So if you really want an engaging car do not buy the the Type R
