I never seen the hindulotine technique but years ago when I started messing around with the rubber guard I attempted a similar technique but if you have your rubber guard in with the left leg you put your left arm under the chin to the opposite side of the neck behind your ankle similar to a darce setup and put right wrist on top of your ankle and lock your palms together in a gable grip and use you rubber guard leg as a leverage point for your right arm and just drive your right elbow down while pushing your left arm upward it works really good especially if you roll them toward your right hip never seen it done but the hindulotine is the closet thing so far
Thank you for the awesome video . In that 5th submission, it is confusing because it is a triangle, but both of the opponent’s arms are “out” of the triangle . So why does it work ?
Great question, so Jeremiah's right elbow is digging into the opponent's right carotid artery and his opponent's left arm is blocking the left side artery. The 11:00 detail is crucial because you get rid of all the slack to breathe.
That takes some serious loose joints(or double joints) I'm cringing in pain just watching the knee and shoulder manipulation, true Wizards of martial arts, bless em
The breakdowns are very lucid as always! What is your take on the fact that Rubber Guard hasn't been effective at the highest (world championship) level of competition?
Great question. I wouldn't say RG hasn't been effective, it's just the competitors who play it effectively don't usually compete in the IBJJF points format. The athletes who play the guard effectively are a small percentage and the guys I featured in the video are in that category. Also, I would say it's more common to see it in action at Sub Only, CJJ and MMA events. However, I believe the RG is not for everyone, it takes a certain attribute and patience to master. Like any other guards out there, no guard is perfect and they all have their counters and preventions. Cheers Mark and thank you for watching
