I pruned my persimmons the way you've shown a couple of months ago, and now they're full of baby fruit... specifically a huge-fruit variety that last year gave me only 3 fruits, now has over 200 baby persimmons on it. Thanks again for the great content.
So nice of Tuck to let you have some of his apples.
I have been in school and working and therefore am behind on watching your videos but I just wanted to touch base and thank you for such an amazing job. I am retired from Television and am in a second profession in Business Management and therefore wanted to comment on your productions. I believe that Tuck and yourself as Executive producers have accomplished a lot. Your photographer if you have a behind-the-scenes photographer, does an amazing job and your edits and final productions are spot on. That is just recognizing your work in addition to your topic and experience as well as your presentations and results of your work. Super all around. Way to go Tuck and James.
I completely agree. James and Tuck have grown this channel so much over the years - it is fascinating to watch through from the oldest videos and see how much they have learned themselves from growing the Food Forest and the channel too.
You rock dude ! DONT CHANGE JUST KEEP BEING YOURSELF THAT WHAT YOUR WATCHERS LIKE ! YOUR ENTHUSIASM ABOUT GROWING ORGANIC FOOD .! Keep growing Jersey dude ! WE watch you daily !!👍🏻❤️LITTLE GUARDIAN TUCK 🐶
Thanks for the kind words Gary, appreciate it my friend!
🔥🔥🔥THE KING, THE BOSS, GUARDIAN OF THE GARDEN, YOUNG TUCK 🔥🔥🔥
I planted a Meyer lemon tree and redbud tree in pots yesterday for Gardening For Mental Health Day in memory of my brothers.
James, you are an encyclopedia. You give us so much information that we just cant fail at growing amazing food. Thank you for documenting and finding ways for all of us to succeed. Tuck looks really good.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Got my shirt a few days ago and already got a few compliments from random strangers!
Been coming here for inspiration and info for what feels like a decade. Thanks for all you do and spreading good info and vibes.
So much wisdom in a garden. It’s mind-blowing.
I swear your energy is infectious my guy!!!, you make me wanna run into my Hot humid FL yard and rip soil up and garden!! Never stop! And give Tuck a pet from me please, my family and I love you both!.
For trees/plants that require 2 varieties of 2 trees to be present, you can also graft a branch from another tree onto your tree. It will make it self pollinating
That was one of my questions. Thanks for the info.
Yes, as long as it’s a fruit that blossoms at the same time.
So long as the species are in the same family, they can be grafted, but it will not make it self pollinating unless they are in the same season. There is a doctor out of university of Syracuse who has done incredible things with grafting where because of the variety on the same tree, it produces from different branches all year long
I live in 4a zone and today I finally was able to start my cold tolerant seeds indoor to transplant in 2 weeks. Been waiting for this for so long !!! And i'm also getting like 8 fruit trees next week for the food forest, so incredibly exciting. Thank you James you have been an inspiration in my projects.

It sounds like you are super busy! I love it! Blessings on your endeavors!
James And Tuck ❤❤❤ I Been Fallowing you two for a year now! I love your videos, and all the information you give. Tuck is awesome ❤💞💗 I Know he loves the garden, just as much as my garden buddy Zack I'm sad to say he won't be in the garden this year 😭we lost him tonight due to old age (19) I can't go to sleep either because he was my cuddle buddy also...Thats why I'm up watching you and Tuck have so much fun! Keep up the good work both of you, sorry for such a downer post!
Oh Tonya, I am so sorry to hear this. May your memories of your Zach keep you warm. Much love from Grandma Linda in Martinsburg WV.❤
@@lindaseel9986 Thank you for your kind words, its going to be a hard gardening season without my buddy,
OMG! I love how you include Tuck in all your stories such as "me and Tuck".
He is the boss! I guess I should be saying Tuck and me cause I just try to follow his lead. 🐕😁❤️
@@jamesprigioni yep. He is the best kind of boss anyone could ever dream of. 🥰
Tuck is awesome, "The guardian of the garden"! Your information is excellent, thanks !
Good morning James and Tuck.❤
Good morning Belinda how's the other side of the world this morning?
Plums are another you need to 2 of to cross pollinate. From what I’ve read, pears tree can go either way. Glad to see tuck running around and doing good!
Hey James!!! I now have all kinds of trees and berry bushes thanks to you!!!! It’s spring!!!!! Love you and love Tuck. Cheers king 👑
Let's Gooo Nancy!!!
Thanks for the video 💚Tuck💚! And oh, yea, James too! 😉😁 just kidding, Love you both and you sharing your journey with us and being so Consistent too, with tons of information on frequency!!
I noticed with my Gala that if I laid down 6 inches of mulch around the whole tree in the fall I had much less scab..
I always love your energetic intro ! You are getting better and better, more knowledgeable and sweeter each year !
I self pollinated my royal Rainer with my bing cherry tree this year and I have more cherries forming than ever before
sweet. last year a late frost took out my peach blooms. this year no blooms, but leaf curl. Learning, learning. I think the struggle is what makes it taste sweeter.
I’m in the same growing zone as you in NJ and so wish I could visit your food forest! 😍 Thanks for this great video. Of course, ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ for Tuck!
New video is packed with value! Thank you so much for making it, gonna help me take my fruit to the absolute next level this year! 🤩 🍎
Let’s Gooo!! ❤️
Florida gardener here. Love your videos. Kodi, my German Shepard garden guardian and I may not live in your garden zone but we learn so much.
Let’s Gooo!!!
Seriously Love All the Video's. I am on the grind to start my own food forest!
Let's Gooo Michael Clapper!!!
Ooooo, you've discovered the magic of the rainier cherry. ❤
Another great video James. I grew up with my dad growing several fruit trees along with veggies. I haven’t tried growing fruit trees, only berries. This is great information and I saved the video for future reference. Glad to see Tuck is doing well and still hanging in there.
The positive exuberance is infectious!
Hi James a friend suggested painting a ring around the trunk of Vaseline on apple trees as it stops the coddling moth grubs from climbing up to the fruit
Thanks James and Tuck for the great information!!
My favorite gardening channel. Hi! From anther south jersey gardener.
Nice. Thanks for mentioning late frosts. We had an unusually warm march/April with normal cold in between. Early flowering and the cold got them. It seems to happen every year now and my 4 year old Saturn peaches have never gotten past that...boo hoo.....am thinking of replacing them?
That's a heck of a lot of information! I save your videos for the future when I finally get onto my land. Hopefully a few months from now and hopefully the grid doesn't go down before I can re-watch and start implementing your ways of growing. Your videos are great and Tuck is such a cool little side kick. Thanks for all you do!
Fantastic Information thank you so much! Thank you Ben & Mary of Simply Citrus for referring to James Pusiani!
Looking forward to seeing a lot of the garden boss this season 🐶.
Let's go!
James just wanted you to know we absolutely love you and Tuck! It's so good to watch someone so upbeat and positive! Keep up the great work. We've learned so much from your show. Be blessed!
I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Always continuing to learn to forever improve the garden.
Let's Gooo Christopher!
❤❤❤❤ Thank you and Tuck for another educational video! Fingers crossed for a super garden in 2024.
That Peach! Now THAT is a real peach. My mouth watered just seeing the juicy, yellow flesh . I haven't bought peaches in years. Once you've had the home-grown best, nothing you buy in the normal supermarkets measures up to this standard. Great Vlog. Very encouraging with the right information. Thankyou.
Goid morning James and Boss Tuck. What a lovely way to start the day with you two and growing advice. Loving your channel more every day. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ For Tuck the Boss.
I never doubted you and Tuck! Let’s Go!!!!
🌎 Earth Day 2023 ! 🌞 thanks James & Tuck , excellent information & learned so much ! Have a great day ! 🍀
holla, glad to see your channel growing. been watching for like 5 years
Let's Gooo Aaron! Thanks for the continued support my friend
I totally had no idea the brown stuff was brown rot! Thank you so much for informing me! So grateful for your awesome content!
I did and experiment with ground up strained turmeric and diluted the turmeric juice and filled my pump sprayer and sprayed a section of my fruit trees because they had green fungus all over the branches as well as the trunks of the trees. Three days later it was all gone. I also thought to add some to my watering jug that I water the plants to prevent the fungus from re Accuracy. So far so good!😊
You are such a great source for information and inspiration. Thank you and Tuck
Much need video on how to care for my fruit trees. Thanks!
Holy! Thank you so much for the generous contribution @elena2010111, Your kinds words and generosity mean a lot to me and the little boss! 🐕😁❤️
Thank you for the wood idea to direct the branches to where you want to go. I've been thinking about that for my new apple tree. I appreciate the care tips too. Great video, ...cheers!
The boss has to be looked after especially when he is such a great help and company with you. Thick is like the chief of staff
Hello fellow gardeners! It's great to see Tucker up and about living his life to the fullest. What a great friend to have! I haven't caught an episode of yours in awhile and Tuck wasn't feeling well at the time. Sad! It's great to see you two full of life and at it again. God bless James and Tucker! Garden on my friends!
You and tuck aka da boss always inspiring me to get out and garden and grow my own organic food! Hope your growing season is off to a good start!
I like how you bring Tuck into the gardening like he is right there working the garden and dreaming of the harvest! I ws lucky enough to share my life with such friends from a young age. Thanks for all the great information as I had given up on fruit trees because I couldn't get a harvest.
Thanks for the shoutout, James. Tuck talked you into it, didn't he. 😉
Tuck, you the man. ❤❤❤
You’re welcome Jim, thanks for being part of the Team! He told me to do it, there isn’t much negotiating with him cause he’s the boss and quite the taskmaster. 😂🐕❤️
Getting apple trees this year on our new property in south-central Indiana so this is all good to know. Thank you James (and Tuck) ❤❤
❤❤❤Love how you make growing fruit approachable
Super helpful video- thanks. Stay healthy Tuck❤❤❤❤❤
This is some great advice! Let’s Grow!!! Go get ‘em Tuck!!
Thank You for all your videos. They , you and Tuck are very Educational
❤❤❤❤❤ for Tuck! I have 2 GSDs and they give up and go inside (lol). That Tuck is truly a garden master. Love the videos and all the growing tips. People thought I was crazy at the number of fruit trees, bushes, and grapevines I have growing in my backyard. When I found your channel, I was assured I was not and was inspired to do more. I do have a number of raised beds, but found I could do better using some of your methods. Such as growing tomatoes in pots under an open peach tree. THANKS!!!
Your tip to cull fruit from the clusters is so important. I lost a significant branch in a Cortland apple tree because the fruit was too heavy and broke the branch. Live and learn!
in the last couple of years the garden is my relief and comfort, thanks for teaching us so much
Thank you James & ❤Tuck❤! I needed this spray info because in early April I planted four fruit trees! Two Italian Plum, one early Richmond Cherry {supposed to be self fertile not needing a pollinizer}, and one Granny Smith Apple. Our neighbors yard less than 100 ft. away has a massive apple tree to hopefully act as a pollinizer for my apple tree. Grateful & thankful for your channel!
Excellent, excellent. Thank you. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for all the information about the pesticides on fruit trees.
James, brown rot hit me hard last year. I’ve read that it actually starts it’s cycle as soon as the blooms appear, from any left over brown rot apples laying on the ground or even still in the tree. So this year I have started a strict fungal spray plan to hopefully prevent it. Because even Liberty, the most disease resistant apple available to most consumers, are susceptible to this fungal disease.
Love the dog bowl awesome information thank you.
I grow in central Florida. So, I'm a little jealous at the fruit trees you have. The heat and intensity of the sun prevent us from growing the largest varieties of even a tomato without special precautions. The good thing here, though, is we can grow year round. Thanks for all the information you give us. May not be in my growing zone, but I always learn something new. Happy gardening to ya.
You're the best James. Thank you for all the info over the years! Planted 12 fruit trees this month. Wish me luck!
Love your enthusiasm! I just found this channel & I’m liking it.
James, could you do a series on growing a food forest in a townhome garden, 25 by 25 ft w 6 ft privacy fences. Thanks in advance
Excellent information, James, thank you very much! When I try to grow a couple of fruit trees, I'll be watching your tree videos over and over. I'm sure that with the advice you've given, I can grow a few trees!
I am in zone 5a and close to the ocean. Humidity/ fungus has been a problem - I lost a Reliance peach tree (leaf curl). We had a decent harvest of apples and small pears ( don’t know name). BT is a necessity. I buy concentrate and use a pump sprayer for the fruit trees and vegetables.
Your intro always hypes me lol
Thank you for providing useful information and practical solutions
So glad to see James back again this season!
Love your energy! Great info! Thank you for sharing your videos and experiences.
Thanks so much for all this valuable information!!! You are so appreciated!
I've watched you for years now. I'm so proud of you! Keep on keeping on!
❤ Tuck!
Thank you for all the great details. We hope to put in two fruit trees this year.
🌎Happy Earth Day!🌎
Thanks! Happy Earth Day Deanne!
Thank you SO MUCH for these awesome tips!! We have a small backyard orchard too and our fruit trees are finally old enough to produce fruit. Hoping for good harvests using your tips! Especially grateful for the surround kaolin clay recommendation.
Thank you so much. I’m new to fruit trees this year. ❤❤❤ for tuck. I love the new shirts
🌱Keep Growing 💚
You are such an inspiration. My food forest is comming along great! Keep growing!
Let’s Gooo!!!
Excellent video James. You are so knowledgeable, thanks for sharing ❤️ ❤❤
Great info I have been using the neam oil for years works amazing as long as you spray every 10 -14 days coat the eggs/larvae so they can not hatch
I appreciate the rundown of options, especially the clay treatment. Until now the only spray I've used is compost tea. I'm afraid of killing off beneficial insects. I have a nice population of native bees, wasps, and moths (pollinators), lacewings, and ladybugs (predatory insects). How do you balance spraying with preserving natural insect helpers?
A good option is planting flowers that attract the beneficial insects.
@@BKStarlet08 Yes, that works, which is why I have so many beneficial insects already. They lay eggs or overwinter in my yard. Hence the question about the recommended Sprays in particular, and wether certain treatments like BT or neem oil will mess up the ecosystem I have going here. How does one assess the pros and cons of neem oil, or BT, for example? It's not just bees I'm concerned about.
Do lacewings, for example, lay their eggs directly on or around fruit trees, or do they prefer other plants?
Always EXCELLENT content!
Let’s Gooo!!! Thanks Bees!
Thanks James & Tuck!!!!
Thx james Big shoutout to tuck ❤
Thank you for this information. I will takes notes from this so I can use these products and this knowledge when we get our fruit trees planted again.
James, I just wanted to say thank you for all your advice. I’m so excited to try out the Surround. It feels great to know my baby pears are protected!
Juiced Horsetail is a good general fungicide for ground application.
Awesome, looks beautiful ❤
This dudes energy is inspiring, always excited to give us information and good quality information at that! Thanks to both You and Tuck for the content 🙏
I will defintely be picking up one of those shirts, looks dope 👌
Another perfectly timed video to apply to my garden. This looks to be the year that my young apple and cherry trees are going to start producing fruit. I have my surround ready to go. Fingers crossed that we get some delicious fruit! Thanks for the tips!
I needed this summary, thanks! Do you hit your apples with all of those methods or do you usually go straight to just the Surround? I have all options already in my shed but have yet to try anything but the neem oil which I’ve sprayed on my apples, grapes, and brassicas. Japanese Beetles are my biggest issue currently - no fruits yet as my fruit trees are new.
Zone 6b (south central PA)
I always go with surround cause it is a proactive form of protection and it makes a major difference. And I use neem oil and hit them with BT about twice a year.
@@jamesprigioni what is the exact timing of each application? Dormant, bud, bud break? I have new trees.
Japanese Beetles - best thing we have used are the pheromone traps set as far away from garden or at least a good distance. We have to change the bags several times, but it has made a Huge difference. Before we couldn’t step outside without being attacked. Some will argue it draws them in-well Great! Because that’s that many less I have to deal with now and next year.
