To anyone finding this video in 2019 let me tell you. The HYPE about this alliance was SO REAL. You had IdrA, one of the best non korean player, a veteran, a personality within the SC2 community and a GOD at the game. And HuK, the young reckless raising star player. Both of them playing in rival teams. And to hear Huk would join EG and be in the same team as IdrA? OMFG DUDE!! YES!! The ultimate alliance was born. What an amazing time it was, and this video encapsulates that so perfectly.
It's as if Real Madrid just announced that Messi is going to join Ronaldo at the same club sometime back in 2014...
I loved this point in ESports history. Its the most memorable one for me. HuK & IdrA together on EG. I was so happy back in 2011 when this happened. To this day, when I hear the song playing on this video anywhere else I always remember this video.

This was probably one of the most epic ways to introduce a new member into EG. I still remember this announcement over the other announcements of EG getting a new member. HuK hwaiting. :) Please don't ever give up.

They said they always got along fine anyway and most of the banter between them was mainly for show. Not sure if that was said just to make the team seem more stable than if their rivalry continued at EG but they seemed to be really good friends when they were both living in the slayers house together.

For me the Starcraft pro scene turns into some kind of Soap-opera with all the drama, rivalies and friendships. I love it.
From what I've seen, Idra ahs become a much more calm player and Huk has indeed gotten tons better so this may be a huge event but I dont think it will be as major as people think it will

Huk and Idra form a team to take on the korean menace that seems unstoppable at the moment, together with the help of Puma have to become the best players from each race in order to overcome this challenge. Special appearances of Fenix and the 3 sewdes Jinro, Naniwa and Thorzaine.
Feels like a JRPG instead of an RTS
they are on the same team but that doesnt mean they wont play each other...its not that huk was on a different team that mad him hate him, it was that he owned idra so much

i hope huk will be able to bring out the best in idra, and hope to see idra continue his being manner and not gg-ing too soon out of games with potential comebacks
Pretty sure HuK is living in a korean team house atm, and so is Idra but im not 100% sure on that, last time i checked they were both in the slayers house

Well, like most people, I was expecting another fail "announcement" from EG, but this one actually blew up my monitor, this was sensationally done, wicked PR, awesome job. Sad day for Liquid and Liquid fans, but an awesome day for us foreigners with these two actively practising together, they can rip through the GSL together!
This, gets me pumped! HuK, IdrA and puma! The three of them are going to Korea in October to train at a "secret EG base"
No matter what team you cheer for, this, could be a force strong enough to rain havok upon the koreans that are dominating the tournaments right now!

NOBODY can deny that this is quite possibly EG's best announcement ever. I love incontrol and axlav, but lets face it, they aren't gonna get into code S anytime soon. This gives toss players who love Idra's attitude a reason to cheer even harder for EG!
I think its great, if they can be civil (its been stated that they get along on a personal level) then their egos and competitive spirit will push them to become better players. Power to them.

@kobe24OBCity You're joking right? He was by far the most consistent foreign player in the GSL. He stayed in Code S his entire run, getting extremely far each season despite wildly evolving strategies early on in the metagame.
He left because the Western scene was growing far more opportunities compared to waiting around for a month for another GSL to come around.
My brain still fails to assimilates the fact that HuK is going to be EG it keeps saying

At the time I was wondering why huk/idra shook hands during the blizzcon qualifiers after the game, I guess it was because they know they were soon to be teammates.
Regardless of the feelings about the trade, that announcement was utterly epic.
i wonder how they really feel, when idra says they are fine i wonder how much of that is actually true
WOW! There should be a movie where Idra and Huk are bitter enemies but their team gets captured and they have to team up and rescue their teammates from some evil beings (probably those Koreans) and they fight ninjas and zombies and Hydralisks and have to work together to save the world.

@2gHD I have seen the show where tyler says that he recommended him to join EG. However he recommended it for financial reasons. And the EG players do not really perform better than the oGs players . Basically he was training with oGs, Nada, MC, InCa, Zenio, theWind, Ensnare, TOP, tons of current or former Code S players and MC won GSL twice.
@WollerBrandon I see, and i totally understand it, its not the same to practice with oGs than with EG...hmmm, hopefully his level won't suffer that much, but yeah, he is in better shape than ever, all thanks to his daily practice with the very best, lets just hope he maintain his level.
This is the best day ever! Now I don't have to be torn between cheering HuK and EG :D

@WollerBrandon I'm agree but i also think its ok, the scene needs this sort of "drama", i mean, can you imagine watching Jinro in Code S again and facing his former teamate? or MC facing Huk? or EG putting a team in GTSL at the end of the day is all about the drama and the scene gets better with it.
@bToxTV July, no way. Not with how he's been playing the past tournaments. He's having some minor problems knowing when to attack and when to be defensive. July has dug his own grave during tourneys a couple of times, knocking himself out.

i think idras main concern is more of the fact that u can be quite a bit bad at t and p but still win against a z. he's always ranting about "trash" players in gm mainly because he thinks that they make so many mistakes but being t or p its real easy to recover relative to zerg. and i think this goes hand in hand with the all in attacks, which basically bronze lvl strats. idra is a solid player no doubt so he isnt complaining cos he cant play, so he should have a good point given his stats.

He's only been a member of TL for a year, though. It's no different than any other athlete going to a different team that can give them something more than what they had before.
