I've never been a smelly person, but I noticed that after my pregnancy, my ears produced way more earwax, that was not only wetter, but darker. And I started to sweat under my arms, which I rarely did before. Also. I had barely any body hair before, and that slightly changed as well, like now my underarms need a shave once a week, instead of once a month. I silently blame my son.
Dont blame your son!! It's you. Check back on any differences, medication, injections,or dietary changes that led to that shift. Also adding back the nutrients a d fats needed to get body on track. Please never blame the babies.
It is a common misconception that sweat itself causes body odor. In actual fact, human sweat is almost odorless. Body odor occurs due to bacteria on a person's skin breaking down protein molecules within sweat and producing odor as a result.
I worked with a girl from Korea, and she told me this fact. What was unsettling is that she believed she was in that 90%, so she didn't wear deodorant and often did not wash her hair. She was either in the 10% or ate so much garlic, the smell was coming out of her hair follicles. Very pungent. So my question is, is it common for the 10% to have more pungent body odor in light of this fact or is diet a contributing factor?
For koreans it's their diet... While the garlic smells, it's still healthy for you i don't understand why some people get repulsed by garlic smell. But yes asian head scalp smells if not washed everyday, no need to wash pits everyday but must wash hair!
@@deeb.9250 Thanks for the reply. Garlic can be overpowering for me when it's not associated with food. I certainly enjoy the smell of garlic when it's cooking, but when it's coming out of a person's body, the smell is a little less appealing.
Am full asian and can confirm Dee. B's part about asian scalps. I live in Singapore and with our weather and humidity levels, we often end up washing our hair everyday eso during the summer months of Feb-August. Personally I try to only wash my hair once in two days. My scalp gets gunked up and I end up losing more hair while shampooing if I shampoo less often than that.
A large percentage of Native Americans have this too. It’s also like 90%. I’m Mexican and I thought that having dry/flaky odorless earwax along with no body odor was normal. I kept buying deodorants until my late teens because everybody did until I realized it I it was a waste of money since I never needed it 😅
As an Eastern European woman I have all the crappiness. My pits and underboobs sweat a lot, I produce too much oil on my face and earwax, and am covered in hair... my legs, belly, arms, you name it. I'm too damn lazy to shave all the time 🙄

You can always use that as an opportunity to politely share the fact that a large part body odor is tied to genetics (though not all). Just try not to sound like a smart-ass when saying it in person (feels almost impossible to do when just typing). So, some people will need deodorant more than others. In the same way that some people get more pimples than others, or some will need more or less sunscreen. All mainly genetics.

It was the first and most likely the last person whose stench I could bear.
I'm Filipino, and I never had any under arm odor problem or even sweat odor, and in our culture. Having B.O is frowned upon. That's the reason why at an early age we are already taught how to clean up and get rid of possible B.O. we use small towels at our back to absorb our sweat, then put it with baby powder. And cologne is a must😂

As a black person, i always thought we in general have a distinct body smell. Like naturally we’ve been out in the sun or outside for too long. Idk how to explain it.
If I’m being completely honest no one should stink if they practice good hygiene and if they are eating right. A lot of people also don’t do a sniff test before they leave the shower like they should. Some people think just rubbing a bar of soap on them is enough but anyone that knows how to bath knows that u should get a towel or a loofa or something to scrub your skin. If u bath correctly the water and soap suds should have a bit of a tint to it as u see it rinse off on to the floor of your shower

@Johnny Rojas more like they need to drink less water if that's what you're trying to say

@Johnny Rojas lol I also drink 3+ liters a day. I was also in the military and they’d basically force us to drink enough water in boot camp so we wouldn’t get dehydrated and die while working out(there have actually been people who have died from dehydration in boot camp that’s why they’re so serious about it)
I am that weird causasian- no real body odor my whole life-once I became pregnant with my daughter, my body hair disappeared and never grew- 24 years ago- have not shaved my legs etc. since. No foot odor etc. So, could just be an anomoly for me.

I was chatting with some mutual friends and apparently she heard about this lack of BO from East Asians and decided she didn’t need deodorant and I was like 😦
White people stink. Dated a German Italian woman who was gorgeous but she smelled bad when she came home after a run or didnt take a shower. It was very hard to deal with her being gorgeous but smelling like cheese. Dated an Asian woman after her and she had zero BO.

Why
It was a huge revelation for me to find out that people of other races (I'm asian) used deodorant heavily..I was like 'if you shower every day you'll be ok??'
So true 😂
All of my grandparents are from east asian(china) but live in south east asian country, I shower twice a day but still if I sweat, I will smell. If lucky, I will smell sweaty, if not, I will have that unpleasant smell. So I use deodorant everyday
A lot of people shower everyday + wear deodorant.

Dad's a Chinese-Filipino-spanish descent. He never used deodorant nor he ever smelled. Lucky man
I'm Filipino too!

It is a common misconception that sweat itself causes body odor. In actual fact, human sweat is almost odorless. Body odor occurs due to bacteria on a person's skin breaking down protein molecules within sweat and producing odor as a result.
Exactly

I love the feud with this random doctor guy 😂
@@deeb.9250 Now I understand why some travelers said Korean people smell smelly
Am full asian and can confirm Dee. B's part about asian scalps. I live in Singapore and with our weather and humidity levels, we often end up washing our hair everyday eso during the summer months of Feb-August. Personally I try to only wash my hair once in two days. My scalp gets gunked up and I end up losing more hair while shampooing if I shampoo less often than that.

At least I wash regularly and I can go out without deodorant. I'm Mediterranean. I'm not sure about other women, depending on their personal hygiene habits. I think the daughter is 17 now..

I'm curious if this gene also makes the sweat thicker, and if non-Asian people can have it. One of my adult sons has sweat that's very thick, and can go days without deodorant or showering without stinking. (He normally bathes- he was just curious.) His brothers and sister don't have this.

I’m 16 and never used deodorant, most people say ew when I tell them. But then I ask if they could even tell, and they say no
You can always use that as an opportunity to politely share the fact that a large part body odor is tied to genetics (though not all). Just try not to sound like a smart-ass when saying it in person (feels almost impossible to do when just typing).
So, some people will need deodorant more than others. In the same way that some people get more pimples than others, or some will need more or less sunscreen. All mainly genetics.

I'm Filipino, and I never had any under arm odor problem or even sweat odor, and in our culture. Having B.O is frowned upon.
