- Happy Halloween everyone! We decided that instead of covering a song that is intrinsically spooky, we'd cover one of the happiest video game songs we know in a more melancholy, sombre fashion.
Of course, the main difference is that the song has been changed from a major to minor key; but there are other changes in terms of structure, tempo, chord progressions, and all that musical stuff that we did in order to create a maximum sp00ky factor. We hope you enjoy this one, because we sure enjoyed making it! It was a lot of fun to create this new take on a classic, upbeat tune. - Hudba
Sounds like music if mario returned,and saw that the entire island was in ruins after a hurricane strike.
The extra scary thing is, is that it can happen. It is an island surrounded by bodies upon bodies of water, after all. A tsunami could hit as well.

Nooo. Just cuz it's slow. This is way too sinister for the feeling of a tranquil night.
A night where somebody DIED, sure.
Maybe when it's night the town is swarmed with Bowser's minions, and everyone is encouraged to stay inside to avoid them. But Mario didn't get the memo, and he still has that community service to get through...
This makes me feel Mario is a sad person on the inside. On the surface he seems like a happy-go-lucky guy, Jumping around, shouting "yippee!" with a smile on his face. But if you look deeper you will see a man who 's life is an endless struggle. For 0ver 30 years, Constantly having to defeat bowser and save the princess with no reward but a kiss on the nose. And now he is blamed for a crime he did not commit. He wares a mask of joy which hides his face of anguish. While the Delfino plaza music in Mario Sunshine is an upbeat, joyous tune, This is the true melody Mario hears in his head.
Mario has brought so much happiness to countless people of all ages through the years, yet happiness is something his void of a heart never really knew. This what I see when I hear this sad yet beautiful music.

Cool stuff! At the beginning my sense of time got turned around, haha, I couldn't tell if you put in an eighth note pick up in the marimba part! Took me a while to get reoriented. Now that's what I call spoopy!

I'm working on a SMS mod and was trying to make a minor version of this song and found this. Great work! In the process of converting it myself, I noticed some similarities to the Luigi's Mansion theme whenever it's converted to minor. Thought it was interesting

Wow, I'm honestly impressed. This brought back memories, brought in new ones, and gave me some chills and a feeling of sadness to go along. It's almost too perfect!

This is the music that plays in my head after we didn't get any good news from last Nintendo direct mini. No new mario MP4 Botw2 Mario remakes / ports ect.
At first I didn't notice it, then I sped it up to 2 and I noticed. Still sounds depressing and spooky.
The energy of this version goes with the sad fact that this channels last upload was 3 years ago.

A Boo House in Delfino Plaza, or what the hotel's theme would've sounded like if they actually tried to make it scary. And have the Boos look and act more like Boos.
When Delfino Plaza is closed due to COVID

Right before somebody turns into a werewolf this plays and they start to lock all the doors... They can feel the pain in their chest as more blood has to pump into their body for the transformation... They lock more doors and start pulling down windows... They close the blinds and pull the curtains... They walk to the basement and lock the metal door... The shouting starts

You should try doing the Luigi's Mansion theme in major to compliment this piece.

When Sponge fled from the People’s Republic of Kraskateilia, KGB agents found out that he was heading to the Island of Delfino. With this knowledge, one of the agents dressed up as him and committed crimes throughout Delfino. Later, when Sponge arrived in Delfino the police arrested him and he was sentenced to Death. Soon after Sponge escaped and tried to show that he was framed, but when the agents found out about this, they poisoned him. Once the poison kicked in, Sponge began to hallucinate that the agent he was chasing was Bowser Jr and that he saved the day. However, when he awoke, he had been raped and beaten in the prison showers. Soon after he devised a plan to escape death row in Delfino which would lead him to America.
On the way to delfino island Mario's plane crashed... There was only one survivor: Toadsworth... Luigi is in mourning... The mushroom kingdom is falling without Peach... Toadsworth is in a deep state of depression... Bowser has yet to be seen...

This really reminds me of the "world of ruin" part of the game where everything sucks but you start with Sylvando trying to bring back the joy and peace in the world.
It would be awesome for a Mario game to have the same sort of tonal shift in a story with music like this. Of course we would never see an official Mario game like this, but it's a cool thought.
