Every time the hosts explained one of the types of Mod Podge, I thought, "Well, YES! I need THAT!" The problem is that I said that all 17 times. Now, I have a strong urge to go buy them all. I'll have to try and pace myself. My whole apartment already looks like a giant crafts room.
I wish they would have sample kits to purchase for the various types and finishes. i.e: Similar to that of Rub 'n Buff which allows you to experiment prior to purchasing a larger quantity. Modge Podge are you listening? ☺
Yess, me too
Haha..me too!

Funny! But I do the same thing!
Holy COW!! I never knew there were so many different formulas !! I thought Mod Podge was just, basically watered down White Glue !

I was going to say that. When I was growing up we did mod podge by mixing Elmers glue and water. Then suddenly a new product came on the market Mod Podge!
@@PERFECTDARK10 I just bought a pot £8 and it smells just like any pva glue hmm

I had just ordered some of these and decided to see what this video was about. Glad I ordered what I did and may add more in the future. I have some projects in mind for a great niece and the glitter one will be perfect. What little girl doesn't like glitter..well okay big girls too!
I just discovered that the dishwasher safe formula existed today. I went right out to buy some and am excited to see how well it works.
Yay! Just remember you have to wait about 28 days to let it cure! Happy crafting!
I have been looking for it and can't find it here in Ontario, Canada. Michael's says they are out of stock and looks like they aren't getting more???
@@plaidcrafts I have a question about the Mod Podge Gloss. In short, I glued red fabric to a cardboard binder and sealed it in one setting. Now the fabric changed its color to a darker red...why is this?
I really appreciate you guys making this video. I have a particular project I'm working on and I got the wrong Modge Podge. I needed the ultra matte. Great super helpful video!! I'm off to get the correct one! Thank you.

Omg. There should be a guide in craft stores!
my head is exploding with all the ideas!! 😱😱☺
Whoever invented mod podge is a genius!
Wonderful video! Which one would I use to prep my sketchbook for multimedia illustration to keep the paper intact? I use ink, gouache and water soluble crayons. I’d need a product that won’t reactivate after it dries. Thanks so much!
I am really bummed that they stopped making the Ultra Matte Chalk Mod Podge. It is so awesome for vintage craft projects. Please, please bring it back!!!
I had no idea there were so many different kinds of MOD PODGE! I see a few that I must have!
And this is an older video! We have some different ones now!

I am a new subscriber and new user of Mod Podge. Thanks for sharing the different uses for Mod Podge. Where can I purchase all 17? I am interested in the fabric because I love sew. I did not know there were different types for different uses. Now I can give my projects an added touch of elegance and beauty.
Thank you for explaining the difference. But still not sure which one to use on my patent leather shoes. Thanks.
So glad to see you guys are back!
Wonderful tutorial and so helpful. My new thing is Dimensional Magic by Mod Podge. i have been making jewelry with it.
I know it's great.
oh gosh another kind...i thought the original did everything back in the day...now i am so overwhelmed to buy again and get back into it because it seems so complicated with all the formulas....I thought the original could do jewelry as well as photos etc....
10 stars great video saved me hours of googling the different types of mod podge or that there were different types thank u
I am absolutely grateful for this video! Thank you for sharing.
I didn't know all 17 of them, but now I think I want all of them....hm... you've worked well ^^
I loved this tutorial, I'm starting with the mod podge and I didn't have an Idea of all of them.
Thanks for the wonderful, informative video.its very good.l would like know that if i want to decopage a fabric painting of mine on a canvas,so that i can mount it on a wall..so which modpadg will be better to use .will you pl guide me?..the fabric paints shouldn't be disturbed.
Does it matter which type I use on stones? Thinking about making "story stones" for preschoolers...and after watching this video I realized the possibilities with Mod Podge are endless :o
What a great video. Thank you!
So glad I found your video. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for the clear, concise descriptions!
Which formula would I use for coasters to protect the surface from wet glasses?
Mod Podge Hard Coat and/or Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe might be good choices for this type of project. However, please also note that any Mod Podge formula could be used and then topcoated with Mod Podge Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer.
Wow. Awesome! Thank you so much ♡︎
Thanks for sharing cause I am crafting more
Hi! Which one you would use for diamond painting besides extreme glitter glitter? Thank you for your answer!
Hi - I’ve just discovered Mod Podge and your wonderful channel and I wondered if I could ask you a couple of questions please.
1.Firstly I want to decoupage my photocopied images onto a black piece of furniture, but I want the images to have an antiqued almost yellow gold finish. Can I therefore do this to the whole piece of A4 paper prior to cutting the images out? My worry is that the paper my wrinkle as it won’t be stuck to a firm base at this time?
2. Is MP suitable for inkjet produced copies or does it smear the ink?
3. Can you combine MP products - so can I go for a high gloss finish over the aged images once stuck on the piece to give a shiny finish to my piece?
Many thanks in advance for your invaluable advise
Nicola
This was just what I needed guys 👍🏽👍🏽 THANKS!
Hi, i want to put my PRE adhesive wallpaper onto kitchen cupboards. It's made of vinyl. Bi need to let soak in water to activate glue. But I don't find it glues properly. Can I use this underneath with wet piece of wallpaper? And do I add more mod podge on top once it is onto my cupboard? (how many coats?) Wallpaper is vinyl and I need to be sure I can clean my cupboards too. Will this work? Which one should I buy? Thank youb🙂
I absolutely love you guys, I have watched tons of videos , many with wonderful finished products , but some a little annoying to watch. You guys are fun, and funny without any annoyance. I have never mod podged ad I cant wait to start. I hope I can watch you two cuties do a lot of products. I hoping to start with paper on to cardboard for upcycling cardboard. What if any suggestions do yall have?
I just did a plate using the dishwasher safe Mod Podge.I followed the directions exactly and it was easy and fun to do! The bottom of the plate has a rough feel and I am wondering if there is anything that is non toxic that I can apply to it to get a smooth feel. It would not even matter if it was no longer dishwasher safe as long as it was non toxic!
Thank you for your wonderful videos.
GREAT VIDEO SO MANY DIFFERENT MOD PODGES, VERY INFORMATIVE, THANK YOU FOR SHARING. I MISS STEVE AND KATHIE FROM CREATIVE JUICE...SURE WISH IT WAS BACK ON T.V., THEY ARE WONDERFUL CRAFTERS, TALENTED ANDVERY CREATIVE.
Thank you, Michelle! Cathie and Steve make videos with Plaid Crafts very frequently so be sure to stay tuned for more!
Didn’t realize this video is 7 years old! 17 formulas! My question is I used regular matte mod podge on fabric and the fabric is so rough after it has dried. Will using fabric mod podge help to not do that? I did my project on wood and plastic?
Thanks for making this video!! I had no idea
So many options! I will have to get the chalkboard for the map project I'm making for my dad *plots*
Anyways, here's my question: would the basic glossy mod podge work to glue paper onto a pair of leather boots? Or would another formula be better?
Thank you for the tip. But if i may ask which one is better for rhinestone coating the gloss or the supergloss one. I want to retain the shininess of my rhinestone with a strong hold of it.
Im new to mod podge, how can i ad glitter to small antiques? Do i need to use a lite layer of matte first? Then glitter while its wet then dry then seal with a gloss? How long do I need to let it dry between coats? How do I do a basket with mod podge and acrylic paint? Do I paint it white first then paint it the color i want then dry then mod podge then napkin then dry then mod podge another coat? I love shiny sealers but also love an antique look.
Thanks for enlightening me, it's been a struggle LOL I'm looking for one that will keep the shine on my glitter wine glasses that also can be washed later on thanks in advance.
If glittering glassware and wanting the glassware to be washable, the best product to use is Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe as no other varnish or Mod Podge formula will be permanent on glassware.
I got mod podge for a glossy finish and a way to protect my work. Overall it was a good product but it wrecked a few of my paintings and made the paint run, which was frustrating because it would have looked amazing if it worked. I don’t know if I applied it wrong or there was something wrong with the product, but I was a bit disappointed after my experience.
Thanks for the video. Which one would you use to glue paper, polymer clay,...to glass and to seal it?
WOW!!! Thanks....I need the glow in the dark for Halloween :)
1.)Could you apply Mod Podge by airbrush? 2.)Would the Mod Podge wear off by handling a lot or by washing?
This is so useful! Now i know what i want to buy for my craft! 🤗
Very informative thank you so much
I love mod podge!!!! It’s SO FUN!!!
Good Morning UK here.
I am Glittering my Daughters Shirt for leaving school, so i am so un sure what glue to use, i need to be able to stick the glitter to the fabric, then i would like to seal it with the Gloss Glue.
What glue should i use for the glitter to the Shirt. I would really appreciate the help.
Thank you so much for the video x
All the best hope you are well x
Which one would you recommend For foam board (without the paper) as a base coat. That would then be painted with acrylic paints.
Which mod podge should I use to seal poured acrylic paint on glass surfaces like wine glasses. I used the Gloss Mod Podge but it can be pealed away after drying. Also which mod Podge should I use for plastic boxes.
What formulas would work well on polystyrene/extruded foam? The ultra matte would be perfect if it will work with this material!
I'm just now seeing this in 2019, but this is a great way to see the range of products! I noticed that one was acid-free, but do you have a formula that will buffer acids on items to be added to an archival scrapbook? Basically, I need to add an old newspaper article to acid-free scrapbook paper, and I'm wondering if coating both sides with a particular formula of Mod Podge would neutralize the acid and preserve the article, as well as keep any acid from reaching the acid-free paper. Any help would be most appreciated!!
Thanks for the info!!!
I have woven plastic rice bag type reusable shopping bags and I want to add a layer of mod podge to make them more durable. How does that sound? I also want to sew some popped off handles back on and use mod podge to “seal” the stitches. I also want to apply a layer of mod podge to prevent the printed design from coming off.
Which formula would you recommend?
What would you recommend for adhering fabric to plastic? I want it to be removable so I can change out the designs every once and a while on my mobility aids.
Which would be best for sealing vinyl lettering on a blank canvas (which will be then painted upon by kids 😂)?
Can I use gloss mod podge for wine glasses. As a sealer instead of epoxy
Hi! very nice and useful. thanks.
Hello there! So I added crushed glass on my daughter's mirror frame. Which one of the Mod Podge should I use to fix the crush glass on the frame and avoid it to fall ? Thanks in advance ☺
I want to decoupage tissue cut outs to my plastic trash can. Which formula would be best? Do I have to prime the plastic trash can first? Love your products. I've used a few different formulations and they are wonderful. Thank you
For this since it is a high traffic used surface, I would use Hard Coat. It will dry to a hard finish and hold up under a lot of use. There is no need to prime first.
This is awesome! Can't wait to start craft making!
Very helpful video =)
Hello and thank you for your nice suggestions, i just mind what is better product for transfer on a electric guitar...and if base colour most be white or another....i thing darker is the base darker is the results or not? more can i use a gloss transparent then or can left without finiture? thank you in advance, Paolo
Can you use the sparkle, glitter and/or pearl formulas on fabric applied to fabric. If so will it hold up in the wash?
