    A Quick Overview:
    Group: Hybrid Dogs
Weight: From under 6 to over 19 pounds
Height: From under 10 to over 15 inches tall at the shoulder
    Life Expectancy: 12 - 15 years
The Cockapoo blazed the trail among planned hybrids; he's the offspring of the Poodle and the Cocker Spaniel. Also known as the Cockapoodle, Cockerpoo, or Cock-a-Poo, he's an utterly adorable little dog with a face that could melt a heart of stone.
He's affectionate and accepts everyone - old folks, kids, and other pets. He's also of an easy size, being small enough to cuddle and big enough to romp with bigger dogs. Cockapoos have an infectious zest for life that spreads to everyone around them, that essential joie de vivre that makes every day a celebration. These guys are just plain happy to be alive.
Still, what's the draw in getting a Cockapoo instead of a Cocker Spaniel or a Poodle? It's that, in some ways, the Cockapoo represents two ideas: first, what the Cocker Spaniel used to be across the board - a sweet and stable temperament, before the breed's popularity skyrocketed in the wake of Lady and the Tramp; and second, the Poodle's orientation to people smooths out the Cockers' orientation to their noses when they're out in the field.

I had a cockapoo for 14 years and miss her every day. She was my best friend, as strange as it sounds, always waiting for me, following me and there through divorce and deaths to comfort me. Cockapoos are the best. I'm getting another within a couple months.

I recently got one a month ago as I lost my dog at the start of June. If they start following one person around and whimpering everytime they leave would they stay like that or do they stop and grow out of it. The only way we can get her to stop is by detracting her.

@@kaias.3238 hi. I've had 2 cockapoos both from 8 wks of age. How old is yours ? If still a puppy both of mine grew out of the extreme anxiety. Cockapoos don't like being alone, but they can. People have to work. The only time I really worried was the last couple yrs of Keyla's senior life. Leaving a dog who is incontinent and not feeling the best isn't fun. I'd only go to work and get straight home to her. Both my cockapoos weren't destructive when left alone. And yes, she followed me all over the house, but I loved it and now that she's not staring at me while I'm sitting on the toilet, I miss it. 😆🐶🚽

@@jeanzyc.5103 So she's still a puppy hopefully she does as our last dog was completely attached to my mum for example going to the toilet or going upstairs and she even slept in my mum and dad's bed😂 and would bark and whimper if we left the house... Tho she did calm down, she was a schnauzer whom wasn't trained around people as a puppy do became very anti-social so we couldn't walk her during the day only at night... But unfortunately she had a seizure in June and died the nxt morning.. Still do miss her, but now it's a new chapter with our new puppy.
