I love Murree and I love Shimla. I have been to both places luckily and only few rare people in this world get to visit both beautiful cities. People in both these cities are very nice and down to earth. I love pahadi people, they are very welcoming and nice and very helpful too!

12 lac tourists is factually incorrect , around a 2 milliion people visit Muree in summer vacation only.....and around 2.5 million in the rest of year.
Reaching Muree is Much Easier then Shimla , muree is just 45 miles from Capital.

Shimla is more developed and clean.
Nathiagali itself has many amazing attractions. It's elevation is higher than Murree. It has 2 amazing trekking routes i.e Mushkpuri+Miranjani. If you reach the top of anyone of them on a cloudy day, you'll forget either Murree or Shimla.
Narkanda in India has elevation higher than Shimla, it's much prettier than Shimla.

There is great resemblance between Shimla and Murree. Both hill stations wre developed by British. However the literacy rate in Shimla is higher then Murree. There is train service to Shimla where Murree has no such facilty. I wish to visit Shimla and Nainithal. Engr Nabi Bakhsh Lahore Pakistan

Shimla and murree are both hill station but their geography is very different. Shimla is a hill station within Himachal Pradesh (mountaineous/Alpine state of India) while murree is a hillstation in the Punjab province of Pakistan and the hill station is adjacent to POK( mountaineous province of pk) It is not within or inside a Himalayan state. So in this regard Shimla is much more beautiful. I think the comparison between Darjeeling and murree would have been suitable coz Darjeeling lies in West Bengal and is adjacent to Nepal. (Mountaineous/Alpine country). In that comparison I think both murree and Darjeeling are very beautiful but Darjeeling has a edge over murree coz Darjeeling provides a very clear and beautiful view of Everest, kanchenjunga and lhotse. The three Himalayan Giants.

I add one more thing to your info about these two cities, these both cities have sister educational instituion called 'Lawrence School in Shimla' and Lawrence College in Murree. Both are same instituions and still visit eachother anually

I am from Murree and i can say that Shimla and Murree landscapes are very similar to each other, but murree has lack of many facilities and too much neglected by Govt. in the pasts.
Shimla is developed while murree is underdeveloped but both have scenic beauties, and you haven't seen Darjeeling.
