The Huskers kept finding ways against CU for a solid decade. A lot of close games between 1996 and 2000.

    Field was ice, total crap.
Lived in that stadium for like 3 yrs in the late 80s. The turf in the ol cathedral of Memorial was crap.
They kept replacing it with “better turf”. But nothing is better than grass.
I’m remembering Ahman was hurt this game, he was a game changer. He shoulda won the heisman this year. 1800+ yrs and over 30td if I recall correctly.
That N defense,The Blackshirts; during that run was indomitable.
Thx for the show on these old game clips Buck

Texas vs Nebraska Big 12 championship. Instant classic. I was in 8th grade. I miss Nebraska being a powerhouse. A canes fan. Miss the 90's 2000's football.

How do you figure I’m a huge fsu and cu fan. FSU played Florida for the title. FSU beat Florida last game of the regular season. They were the two best teams and Florida torched us. Nebraska played for the 93 94 and 95 national championship losing to FSU 93 Miami and I can’t remember the other team.

So … Florida State beat Florida 24-21 to take over #1 spot and dropped Florida to #4.
#3 Nebraska lost in their Big 12 championship game 37-27 to Texas making #2 Arizona State the next in line for the title. They lost to #4 Ohio St 20-17 in their bowl game which is how Florida won. I don’t think they were the best team, and it took a bit of luck.
This made Arizona State the #2 team

Once Colorado ran out of Bill McCartney's recruits they were done. Rick Neuheisel couldn't recruit to save his life. CU has sucked for 25yrs.

Rick did a good job he just went after different kinds of players. Gary Barnett did a fine job as well, Colorado should have won the 2001 national title. How do you beat Nebraska and Neb plays for the title over Colorado and Oregon? Colorado had very good teams until 2008 it’s the last almost 15 years that hurt. Colorado football had a great 20 year run and it’s on its way back.

@@cyberianwolf790 I guess you don’t know anything about Colorado football Colorado was still playing meaningful games in the mid 2006 that’s when they dropped from 8-9 win teams to 5-7, 3-10 stuff 2001 they were 10-3 lost the first game of the season 1 mid and then beat Neveraska who went on to play for the national title. They ended up losing to Joey Heisman and the Oregon Ducks in the Fiesta bowl, a game they didn’t wanna play in because they felt they deserved to be in the championship game.
