They may not be the original fuse holders, or Yaesu may have went to a different style at one point. I bought my 450-D brand new, and they are completely different. Mine are white, and do not have the gap.
I would say dirty rather than loose and when you took them out and put them back in, it would have cleaned them a bit. I've had that issue with blade fuses.

Its possible the original owner gave me his ftdx10 cord instead of the original 450d.
