1982 then. I was about right. He appeared on "New Faces" in the 70's when he was part of a double act called Gary Wilmot & Judy. Not sure what the act was or when they broke up and he went solo.
It was recorded and broadcast early/mid 80's just as Gary was starting to get TV exposure. I was the Club's Social Secretary and the package was booked through an agent called Chris Lynn who was based in Lancing. Gary was managed at the time by a lady (can't recall her name) who's office was in Ealing. Having booked the show we were approached by the BBC to film his segment for a magazine program called Ebony. Also on that episode were the band Musical Youth. the interview was conducted in the lounge bar during the afternoon before the show and all day opening. Hope this helps.
His Mr Bond was second to none.
