DIY mooring buoy retriever.

  • It can be difficult to retrieve a mooring buoy or even attach a mooring rope to a cleat when docking. Here is a simple device that will help the sailor, especially when short handed. It is made from scrap plywood and the shaft of a broken broom.

      I just started cutting a piece of scrap plywood until I had a shape that worked. That shape was then transferred to a better piece of wood.

      The head is 25cm long by 11cm wide. It is made from 12mm thick plywood.
