Hi Guys! Just wanted to give a small Update on this video.
Food costs have gone way up since, because of inflation. I go to edeka now and it's like 70 euros a week. It really depends on what you eat as well.
Electricity is till 40 euros for me.
Note: my apartment is very small and finding an apartment like this is just really rare! Mainly you pay 700-900 euros for a room now. But me paying 404euros shows that you can still find cheap apartments in munich! It just takes time and luck!
Also big apartment with 2-3 rooms cost around 1200 to 1700 euros.
Transport is also more expensive now. I pay for a weekly ticket 20,20 euros.
That's all for now!
Excelente video Fernando!
Graciass!
I am in Munich for a month, and I can not understand how you manage to spend that little!
Especially for the food...
But the flat and everything else it really cheap too, that is a great skill to have:)
Eating bens man 😆 no Meat nothing expensive. Only Aldi or netto. It's just the base. But now with the inflation is more expensive.
Well explained + well shot! Also really interesting to get a sneak peak into your apartment :)
Thank you Bai Xu!
Great informative & fun to watch video.
Loved it brou! It’s cheaper than I thought actually, pretty cool🔥
It depends, that's kind of the basic

Hola Fernando!!
bro ive seen your videos like a year ago and now i moved to munich 3000km 😂 thank you
btw the appartement price is amazing i cant even find a WG with that price
Glad that It happens man! Yes this apartment has its ups and downs, but it works very well. Wish you all the best! And enjoy this city!
@@fernandotabora thank you 😇
Hi Fernando! I am going to live there for a month. I am curious to ask: your flat looks amazing? How did you find it? Can you recommend me the best websites to find accommodation in that prince range in Munich? Thank you and keep making these high quality videos!
Hey Bern!
I friend of mine was moving and he gave it to me. So I was lucky. For your situation you have to apply like crazy in WG gebucht, immoscout24 and Facebook. Write as many applications as possible. Contact organizations that you may be related with. Look for university groups on Facebook. Look for Facebook groups regarding apartments in munich.
The other way is you pay for an airbnb a bit outside of the city.
That would be my recommendation
This is a great video. Thanks! A follow-up question - how did you manage to get this cute apartment for a competitive price?
Through a friend of mine. He was moving out, and he gave it to me. Then I also got his old contract. The landlord didn't raise the price. So I was lucky
@@fernandotabora thanks for your response!
The price for the apartment is so awesome!! And its beautiful!!
Great video! I live in Munich and I can say your rent is super cheap!! How for away are you from the city center?
10/12 mins on train. But I will do a video talking about apartments in Munich
Hey man, I'll be moving to germany for my bachelors later this year. I really liked your apartment do you mind sharing how you found it?
Hey man! Through a friend. The best way is just asking people around and that's the best way of getting apartments here and waiting
Hey! so thank you for your great video! Question, how much is the fee for the gas then?
You mean cooking gas? Or you mean for the energy cost?
Excellent video! Can I ask how and where did you find that apartment? It is perfect for a single person like me. TIA
Hey! I found it through a friend. He was moving and he out me in contact with his landlord
Hey Fernando! Very nice video. How did you find your apartment? It looks very price friendly for someone who is going for an internship
Will make a video about finding apartments in munich soon! So there I will answer you question 🙌🏻
@@fernandotabora That will be highly appreciated🙏🏼
Hi, this was amazing and I really love your apartment. I am planning to move there and I wanted to know how could I find a flat like that around 500€.
Thanks!
It's very difficult now a days. I think the lowest you can find it on a website like immobilienscout24.de is around 650-1000.
It was very chip for me because I got it in 2020 and the prices have gone way up since then.
Hope this helped and thank you for your comment 💪🏻
That’s actually not that expensive. I live in Montréal (Canada) and I pay more than that, and what I pay is considered low compared to Toronto or Vancouver. Anyways, thanks for your awesome video! ❤
His costs are astoundingly low. He must have very social apartment owners
Thank you so much. It help me very well. But still I stock between choosing münchen and Berlin or maybe even other cities. I love münchen but some reason like it is expensive city make me feel bad about it. Please help me out 🥺
Munich is a city that is very connected with nature. There is a lot of security in the city and the payments are also good.
In other city's like Berlin you have the feeling of a more bigger metropolis. The plans are mainly go to restaurants and just over all, more city life.
Munich has more tradition and connection with the outdoors and Berlin is more of a city like NY.
Hello, can you suggest me some apps for finding apartment in Munich? I have been looking in wg app but no luck. My internship starts from 1st April . Do you know anywhere might be renting for 6months?
Some good websites are: WGgesucht and Immoscout24.
Sadly I don't :/ but always check the news papers as well, because people are always posting apartments there
I've seen my fair share of stupid apartments for a lot of money (including one with the shower IN the bedroom. For 600€ in 2015). 400€ is cheap. That price and the shared bathroom (which is not normal for an apartment) makes me think you like in a student dorm of some kind. Lately I've seen rooms in a private shared flat for up to 800€ and that's without a kitchen, just a bedroom. Shared kitchen, living room, bathroom. That's normal and not that uncommon in other places (c.f sitcoms like HIMYM, BBT and friends).
Having said that, such a shared flat only pays Rundfunk once. If you only share the bathroom with one or 2 guys and not a whole floor, I would argue that the lot of you shares a single apartment and thus have to pay only once. If you've got your own doorbell and letter box that's probably not going to work then....
Hi Borstenpinsel
Munich is slowly getting more crazy with the apartment situation. I do feel like my apartment is like a student flat, with the advantage that I have my own kitchen and letter box (so I do have to pay for the Tv and radio). I have seen other student apartments that share just the kitchen.
But anyways, finding apartments like mine in Munich, I would say is not common. I lived in many Wgs and this one just feels like an upgraded WG experience XD
wow! u found a very cheap apartment even tough the bathroom is shared. from video i see u are using Partnachplatz station, if u live nearby we could meet and grab a coffee!
Yess thanks to a friend of mine 🙌 we can definitely organize one day a meetup
Hey thanks for sharing the video. Can you tell how it would cost a couple for a living in Munich? I got a job offer in IT company and the offer is slightly lower like in the range of 57000-60000€ for Munich location. I am the only earner and my husband will be coming with me so I am worried if I would be able survive or not? Can you please help me with the details
Hi Dara!
I am not an expert, and this is not professional advice, but it is possible to find an apartment around 1400 (warm), and maybe you will spend around 1200 in other things. It is very possible. You just have to take your time and look for the apartment that fits your budget.
Also, this may depend on what type of lifestyle you are going for. If you would like to have a car and eat out every night, then, of course, it is going to get expensive. But I am sure with 4-5k a month you are going to be good and have a good time 👍🍻
Hope this was helpful :)
@@fernandotabora thank you for your advice Fernando 😊
Me and my freind are going to be living together and gonna be going to college in munich are there Any student discounts or tips?
Yes, there is student duscounts for most of things here. Mainly on activities and products.
Fernando porfa ! Necesito ayuda tuya y consejos.
Wow thats half of what yiu nedd for Paris.and less activities.
Pubs are a luxury for most and nature hikes less in reach.
.so gym and work life is all the activities one can postively afford.
hey, I was wondering how did u find your apartment?
Check the new video out
You forgot to calculate the insurances like the health insurance etc. - You´ll need to spend min. 1500 Euros for the minimum costs of living in Munich per month
Well if you are work for a company you would already paying for that, so that's why I didn't mentioned it.
Upload new video for latest update about cost of living
Will do
standig Desk ❤🙈
You know it
Hi, Fernando! Do you have any site or Facebook group for renting rooms os small cute apartments like yours? I live in Brazil but I'm applying for a Masters at TUM and all I've seen so far is insanely expensive :(
thank you!
Hey Filipa! Yes, I have this friend who makes videos about TUM and also made a video about apartments. I think his video is very good and it can help you the fastest: czcams.com/video/anR-WVfUvO0/video.html
If you still have questions let me know
You didn't mention health insurance?
You get it when you work
I am in need of apartment. So, would you help me and if there is some apartment left to share . Then please help me out . I will be in Germany on 27 and I got admission in HM Munich
Have you tried Immoscout24 pro?
In the end im spending more living in a small room in Barcelona :/
Yeah but my apartment is very special. I think other apartments will cost you around 700 to 1200 for just one person
Can you share your gear like camera,Microphone
Lumix s5
Rode mic pro +
Also now basicly you can use Ai to sound exactly like this expensive mic that I have
HOWWW. I am looking for an apartment in Munich and literally cannot find anything for 2 people under 1800 Euro!
Summer is the hardest time of the year to apply. Always best im winter
Check my new video out. I give some advice at the end
Your apartment rent is quite low for Munich. I've seen single room apartments for 1000€
I think you missed out on health insurance as well
Yes, but that's already included if you have a job. Of course you are paying for it, but you don't feel like you are laying for it
Wow… What about health insurance??
New video coming up soon about it
200euros on food/month? In Romania you need 200euros / week for food 😄
Damm that's good deal 👌
3:57 should be a WhatsApp sticker lol
hahahahah yes
MUNICH IS CHEAP COMPARED TO DALY CITY CIFORNIA WHEREIN A ONE BEDROOM UNFURNISHED APARTMEBT IS $3,000 A MONTH EXCLUDING UTILITIES. YOU NEED AN INCOME OF $5,000 A MONTH IF YOU WANT TO LIVE IN DALY CITY, CALIFORNIA. NO KIDDING.
Yeah, California is crazy
Where do you live? How can you find 400€ apartment? 😯😯😯
Secrets that I will never tell!!!
JK! I will do a video about apartments and will explain all of it!
@@fernandotabora pleaseee 🙏 need more recommendations how to search apartment and tips and tricks too. Thank you!!
At the end, it is all about how fast you are applying and optimizing your application to where you are applying. Yo do get an advantage if you are here. So basically you can stay in an apartment for 2-3 month and then us or social skills to promise that you are looking for apartments.
Do you have any questions that I can answer?
Just one question buddy. Is that apartment is not a student accommodation? Actually Munich is not expensive. Where I am now (Dublin, IRL) is a joke comparing to this. 1k EUR for a room + bills. All goods are more expensive by 10% comparing to other EU cities. So believe me, Munich is not expensive. Here I pay 104 EUR for public transport (which is only bus(!), no metro/tube. To use all it is 184 EUR and it is an unorganized rubbish :)
Sound like Munich is the City for you 😆. It's not, but it feels like it
@@fernandotabora it does! I am already in an apartment hunting stage. Still got some time left for starting the job, but never too late to start!
Hmmm that seems like a best case scenario. You should calculate double the rent and double the food cost. Livin my whole life here. If you don’t know somebody there is 1000 people applying for a 440€ room xD. You must earn a minimum of 2500€ or you will have no live quality. It has become a sad city, in concentrated parts you have ridiculous migration. Munich is not nice anymore, people killed it.
I think you are not doing it right, but I can help you ;)
@@fernandotabora I was born and raised here brother xD
😆 lies!
Have you live in another country?
@@fernandotabora I lived in Florida 😂. Other than that I moved due to the ridiculous rent to Landshut. Here you get 2-3 rooms for under 900.
It's overpriced city for old people or rich people (that you strongly support with overpriced rent). I strongly recommend to avoid it. Specially if you are young and full of life... there are thousands of better places to be.
And I am even trying my best to put this message out as positive as possible 😂
Hi Rex! Thank you for your comment and belive me I feel you. But you should check out NY or just the US and then you will see that it's not expensive at all
City for old people? According to the statistics, the population of Munich is younger than that of Berlin.
A bunch of students
What if you lived in a normal apartment?
I mean not your sleep box with shared bathroom, but really appropriate one: 70+ sq meters, balcony, parking and so one. Your video is not representative, just a waste of time.
1300 to 1700 euros for apartments.
@@fernandotabora Thanks, sounds like a decent price, I was told that Munich is expensive. 1300 - 1700 looks ok.
I am so shocked that rent in Munich is cheaper than Dallas where I live. I pay 2700 dollars for a 1 bedroom apartment so maybe I should move to Munich Haha Haha.
Yess it is! But also I think you get pay less
Great video!
Thank you
Your apartment rent is quite low for Munich. I've seen single room apartments for 1000€
Yes, there are a lot of people with old contracts like mine out there. I have friends paying for 3 rooms for 1400 euros. It's just a lot of luck
