Fun Fact about the video shoot: Due to scheduling problems to catch the plane to the "Big Day Out" festival in Australia, the band members didn't have time to completely remove their makeup. The black paint in their hair, therefore soiled the passenger seats. The German airline that flew the band to the USA still had understanding for it. The American airline that flew the band from the USA to Australia wanted to throw the band members of the plane.
Rammstein - "Radio" is probably one of my favorites. "Favorites" with this band is just saying the ones that I play the most. They don't make bad songs.

They are truly amazing, and you should only look forward to it. Many suggests Du Hast Live In Paris, which is absolutely a great starter even though you have heard the song before. After that ( or if you don't want to listen to Du Hast again for some reason), there are so many great live version of songs, and you should always look for a live version of the song. "Ich Tu Dir Weh", "Mein Teil", "Engel", "Rammlied" comes to mind as the go to live songs in the beginning, although there are plenty more. I also highly suggest to check for subtitled version of the performances / music videos if possible. The channels "EducatedMarine" and "Bucksttabu" are both great resources for this.
new and mostly silent viewer here! greetings from vvienna / austria i don't know if it makes sense to write a comment, because YT keeps deleting ms commenty for no reason. but i will try no anyway, so here is a little story i worked for the austrian red cross in a city west from vienna. there i was in the common room in the age of 20 and heard that song and saw that video for the very first time. i was long long time not at all into musik and the last few years befor that day in a little bit of pop music, from radio and MTV. then i saw that video and i was never the same again. ramm stein tokk my heart, ripped it out of my chest melted it into molten steel, and casted it back into my chest, into a new musical heart, from true heavy metal! this day, i got that new metal heart, lays now 21 years in the past. rammstein paved the way for me and was followed very quickly by other singers or bands, linkin park (rest in peace chester bennington, you still are painfully missed), hammerfall, manowar, nightwish, within temptation, evanesence, and many many more over the years. and this forged metal heart still pounds as strong as it did his first time! i watched only 2 or 3 videos from you now, but you already have a sub from me. keep it up ^^ greetings from vienna / Austria / central europe
Everything they do is full of meaning and they do it in the most creative way! I just love them. Maybe try "Radio" next. The members of Rammstein grew up in the GDR (eastern side of Germany when it was devided) so they weren't allowed ANYTHING from the class enemy, western Germany, which was highly highly influenced by the USA. That included clothing, magazines and of course music. People living in the eastern part had no way to get access to western music so they had to find ways to still be able to listen to western music. I would highly recommend watching live performances of them. You have never seen anything like it before. I Promise!
As Rammstein's (Rohmm-shtyne) US West Coast gig handler in the mid 90s, thru their tour w Marilyn Manson and a few years later as a headliner...I've been at dozens of shows...the best Rammstein is LIVE! Yes, they make some great videos, but you must experience the band live...they put on an unrivaled show...tons of pyro! You say you remember the Du Hast days...have you seen Weises Fleish (I know I can't spell) live? Or Buch Dich? I'm not reading 200 comments...but I suggest you start with Ich tu dir weh, live at Madison Square Garden, and Engel same show...work fwd, work back. Stay live...these charmers work very hard to give us a *show*...enjoy it!

So usually everything you see, gets pronounced. (Sonne = sun, for those that didnt know yet) If you want to check out a more "softer" or diffrent side of Rammstein, i would recommend the song called "Ohne dich". Its a more melancholic song, also with a very cinematic Video. Whatever you do, i just hope you have fun with it ! Keep it up man !

Therme Erding a few years ago at midsummer celebrations in the Celts-Throne-Sauna - they did a "Rammstein-Infusion" - the guys in monkrobes came in with the titletrack of the movie "The Name of the Rose", red light, and when they put the ice on the hot stones, they did "Feuer Frei!", "Mein Herz Brennt" and "Ich Tu Dir Weh" in a row... Hottest thing i ever experienced. 🤪
You have to check out the live versions too! Rammstein really shows up on stage and has one of the bests live shows out there. Tickets for even the largest stadions worldwide are sold out within a few minutes after the ticket sale starts.
Watch Till, the big scary singer, during live performances. Remember two things: -He's extremely shy and has severe stage fright -He's done a bunch of poetry-books and voice-acted a children's movie.

Might be a little too early, but Till’s side project with Peter Tägtgren (sadly broken up now) called Lindemann goes crazy omd. You just have to check them out at one point. That’s where the ideas a little too much for Rammstein went lol.
Radio is also a very Good Video and Music. I really like that Song so much. The complete album Rammstein from 2019 is so fckn good. But I can also recommend Rosenrot, Mein Herz brennt, Ich will, Mutter and Engel. Translates as much as possible so that you understand the titles: Rosenrot -> Rose red, Mein Herz brennt -> My heart burns, Ich will -> I want, Mutter -> Mother and Engel -> Angel.

In April it will be 21 years since Mutter dropped. This album is an instant classic and for many of us introduction ro Rammstein. You cannot go wrong with any song from that album. My personal favorites: Sonne, Mutter, Mein Herz Brennt, Ich Will, Feur Frei, Links 1,2,3. In this particular order.
From how I learned to read certain words in German, the vowels are usually pronounced A=ah E=A I=E O=Oh U=ooh. So Sonne is actually pronounced So-nah basically. If you are going to check out any other videos, start with their first one and go one by one...You'll love them all. There's a story for them all. I started listening to them after Feuer Frei was on the XxX movie as well, and I love them. You could also branch out to Till Lindemann's side project Lindemann, or even Richard Kruspe's Emigrate.

Thanks! Rammstein never disappoints! Pronunciation: "Sonne" - roughly pronounced "ZOAHN-neh"; "Rammstein" - "RAHM-shein" (to be exact do a very slight rolled R if one can do that else a light tongue tap on the R will suffice!)
I would make a slight edit on the pronunciation for Rammstein, the second half ‘stein’ the t would be pronounced. So it would be ‘shtein’ Also a slight tweak on the r roll, in German the r roll is a throaty roll unlike most other languages that use a tongue roll. So the roll will come from the back of the mouth/throat. Till uses a tongue roll in his music as it is a specific style (used for stuff like opera and theater) and it’s easier to hear (maybe also do) the tongue roll while singing and performing.

Rammstein song Classics ...which are a bit overseen on CZcams "Du riechst so gut" = "You are smelling so good"...has also a tremendous video and as hint I will just say "Werewolf" "Engel" = "Angel" ...also tremendous video But those are actually songs of their Debut Album which built up their Fanbase back in the days as they started..and the on CZcams hyped song "Du hast" = "You have" is also one of those Classic from their Debut Album back in the days of the early 90ties. But actually you have to watch every Rammstein songs twice = video version + pyrotechnical Live performance setting every stage on fire so to say ;-D And about titel pronunciations just listen closely to their songs..then you will hear it anyway. But basically in general in German all letters are pronounced (for the very most part there are very few exceptions like "ie" where the "e" is silent but therefore the "i" is long for instance) so "Sonne" = "Sun" is pronouced with the "e" at the end.
rule nr1 with rammstein ALWAYS GO FOR THE LIVE VERSIONS 2 reasons, 1st the live versions are amazign and 2nd the videos will get blocked the live versions wont
3 things about pronunciation: 1) letter blends: if you such combinations as "st" or "sp" in a word then the "s" letter should be pronounced as English "sh". So "Rammstein" should be pronounced as "Rammshtein". 2) the "a" letter is always produced as in such words as "car", "star", "far", etc. always, without any exceptions. So, also keep it in mind when you pronounce any gegman word, including name of the band. 3) tricky "s" letter: if there is double "s" in a word then it should be pronounced as English "s", if there's a single "s" then it should be pronounced as English "z". therefore "sonne" should be pronounced as "zonne" (btw the "e" at the end is also pronounced).

Might be a little too early, but Till’s side project with Peter Tägtgren (sadly broken up now) called Lindemann goes crazy omd. You just have to check them out at one point. That’s where the ideas a little too much for Rammstein went lol.
Radio is also a very Good Video and Music. I really like that Song so much. The complete album Rammstein from 2019 is so fckn good. But I can also recommend Rosenrot, Mein Herz brennt, Ich will, Mutter and Engel. Translates as much as possible so that you understand the titles: Rosenrot -> Rose red, Mein Herz brennt -> My heart burns, Ich will -> I want, Mutter -> Mother and Engel -> Angel.

In April it will be 21 years since Mutter dropped. This album is an instant classic and for many of us introduction ro Rammstein. You cannot go wrong with any song from that album. My personal favorites: Sonne, Mutter, Mein Herz Brennt, Ich Will, Feur Frei, Links 1,2,3. In this particular order.
From how I learned to read certain words in German, the vowels are usually pronounced A=ah E=A I=E O=Oh U=ooh. So Sonne is actually pronounced So-nah basically. If you are going to check out any other videos, start with their first one and go one by one...You'll love them all. There's a story for them all. I started listening to them after Feuer Frei was on the XxX movie as well, and I love them. You could also branch out to Till Lindemann's side project Lindemann, or even Richard Kruspe's Emigrate.
Radio is from the newest album and it's amazing.
You can also check 'Ich will' but better with English subtitles, not just to enjoy the sound but also to compare how the picture and lyrics match.

Thanks! Rammstein never disappoints! Pronunciation: "Sonne" - roughly pronounced "ZOAHN-neh"; "Rammstein" - "RAHM-shein" (to be exact do a very slight rolled R if one can do that else a light tongue tap on the R will suffice!)
I would make a slight edit on the pronunciation for Rammstein, the second half ‘stein’ the t would be pronounced. So it would be ‘shtein’
Also a slight tweak on the r roll, in German the r roll is a throaty roll unlike most other languages that use a tongue roll. So the roll will come from the back of the mouth/throat. Till uses a tongue roll in his music as it is a specific style (used for stuff like opera and theater) and it’s easier to hear (maybe also do) the tongue roll while singing and performing.

Rammstein song Classics ...which are a bit overseen on CZcams
"Du riechst so gut" = "You are smelling so good"...has also a tremendous video and as hint I will just say "Werewolf"
"Engel" = "Angel" ...also tremendous video
But those are actually songs of their Debut Album which built up their Fanbase back in the days as they started..and the on CZcams hyped song "Du hast" = "You have" is also one of those Classic from their Debut Album back in the days of the early 90ties.
But actually you have to watch every Rammstein songs twice = video version + pyrotechnical Live performance setting every stage on fire so to say ;-D
And about titel pronunciations just listen closely to their songs..then you will hear it anyway.
But basically in general in German all letters are pronounced (for the very most part there are very few exceptions like "ie" where the "e" is silent but therefore the "i" is long for instance) so "Sonne" = "Sun" is pronouced with the "e" at the end.

3 things about pronunciation:
1) letter blends: if you such combinations as "st" or "sp" in a word then the "s" letter should be pronounced as English "sh". So "Rammstein" should be pronounced as "Rammshtein".
2) the "a" letter is always produced as in such words as "car", "star", "far", etc. always, without any exceptions. So, also keep it in mind when you pronounce any gegman word, including name of the band.
3) tricky "s" letter: if there is double "s" in a word then it should be pronounced as English "s", if there's a single "s" then it should be pronounced as English "z". therefore "sonne" should be pronounced as "zonne" (btw the "e" at the end is also pronounced).
So powerful music. Nothing to compare.
