$555k personal debt, $400k left on the mortgage, in their 50's.

The fact that she and her husband were apparently able to rack up half a million dollars in stupid debt with their eyes closed is astounding to me.
but that's how it is, it's normal for a lot of people especially ones that the banks see have such a large shovel.

The irony of her having taught Financial Peace University 10 years ago isnât lost on me
She's pretty calm and nonchalant for being in 555k of debt. This is a prime of example of why you should never watch what people have. These are professionals making good money but living way above their means. It's never about how much money you make, it's how much you save and invest.

This show taught me this lesson hard-core.
What is she supposed to be screaming on the phone?
Trying to impress other people with what they have .

Gambling debts for sure. She was super evasive when asked what she spent the money on.
Yes, I noticed that, too. She was very vague.
Yup

Yeah, she laughs several times.
She doesnât really care. Probably went shopping by after the call.
This call is the perfect example of how us Americans get into the mindset that if we have more than our neighbor, then we are living the American dream.
My grandfather looks like the poorest man on the block and drives a 1980 Chevy. He owns several apartment buildings and is worth over $20 million. Yeah I thought it seemed a little fishy when she wouldn't give specifics about where the money went.
Some of it probably went to cosmetic surgery or something like that. She didnât fool me with wanting her husband to be the largest part of the problem.
This is the problem with society now. People think they can run up all sorts of debt and when itâs to much, file bankruptcy. Then after a few years they will be right back in the same spot. Like bankruptcy is a âget out of jail freeâ card. Absolutely ridiculous.
I think itâs because itâs people want to appear cool like a celebrity so go around spending, honestly start talking about keeping your money to a bunch of people and they look at you like you are a loser, it must be what 95% of people do
The thing is, they wouldn't be able to file Chapter 7, which is the one where you're absolved of the debt's, as they'd have to pay the entire fee up front, which would cost thousand's. They also have too much income, and you can never file bankruptcy on any student loan debt. They would have to file Chapter 13, which requires you to have your paycheck(s) garnished, by the court, to pay the monthly bankruptcy costs, the debt, and the court appoint's a Trustee to oversee the disbursement of funds to creditor's. They'd also have to meet the repayment plan required in the bankruptcy code's, which is under federal law, not state. So, if they qualified (I doubt they would), they'd end up with it showing on their credit report for 10 years (it would be hard to find any place that would rent to them, except a slum lord), and they'd be left with a lot less money to live on, along with having to still pay the student loan's. If she actually work's in a bank, as she stated, she should know this. I think this entire call is a bunch of BS.

I learned a lot from these videos but the one BIG takeaway is there are SOOOO MANY PEOPLE who make too much money and have NO idea how to use it properly lol...Where are they hiring for these high paying jobs for people who dont know what to do with all that money Id love to sign up...
No bankruptcy Judge is going to dismiss their debts when they earn $200,000 annually. It does not work that way.
lol Id love to have enough money in order to get into 500K debt, us blue collar folk cant fathom that kind of money misplacement... đ€Ł When I was in debt 10K it felt like I would NEVER pay it off...
THIS LADY IS LAUGHING BECAUSE SHE IS TAKING THE EASY WAY OUT
Let me hazard a guess, the reason she is adamant about not filing bankruptcy is because she used her influence at the bank to obtain those $150k in personal loans and if she defaults, there are going to be some folks, including her, with their behinds in the blender.
PS:
And Baloney, enough with the "I can't breath, I'm skeered" schtick. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard at this point.
Yes. He ruins it.
That is a remarkable observation
Ramsey wants a psychologist on the panel. But they should tell him he is not obligated to speak in every call.
Omg yes I cannot stand when Maloney does that! đ he doesnât know what else to say so thatâs his copy and paste response
Agreed! Theyâre obviously not scaredâŠmore nonchalant than anything
She is the type that needs new pillows and furniture for all of the seasons of the year, all of the snacks in specialized containers that cost half of the kitchen and $50 of Starbucks a day.
đđ I always wondered about those people that can âaffordâ everything. I have seen people who bought houses in my neighborhood and fully furnished every room perfectly and still buy Starbucks everydayđź

@@Elizabeth-uj8vn Yes, you were smart to wonder! You might be interested in the book " The Millionaire Next Door". It was the original study on Millionaires in America and showed that most millionaires do not live like we imagine or how the marketing on TV/online portrays them. It is a great book, & was very eye-opening for me. Take care!
Live laugh love probably sends kids to a private school
She definitely has "Live, Laugh, Love" signs all over the house
This situation is not serious enough to her. Itâs become so out of control that itâs a joke and laughable.
Husband thinks bankruptcy will fix it all. These two need a hard reality check and Dave needed to be on this one.
Dude sheâs calling and asking for
Help. Better than ignoring it! Gotta start somewhere
This show is teaching me so much about money and what not to do
The other thing is, they could downsize the house, sell the land, etc. AND BOTH OF THEM NEED TO GET SECOND JOBS. Hello.
I get the impression that they are very well rooted in a comfort zone and wonât do whatâs hard to get out of debt. Iâm wondering if they have been so accustomed to pretending like theyâre rich due to pride that they are not willing to humble themselves. Either way, I donât think theyâre gonna get out of debt.
I'm always amazed by the willingness of people to never change their minds. I'm convinced that people don't change their minds, they die.
She will have a difficult time getting a new job at a different bank if she has a bankruptcy on her background. Financial institutions really frown upon blemishes like that.
She can go be a truck driver
@@allthingznatural5592 in her 50âs?????
GOOD!
This kind of person is definitely the kind I thought was living the life and I wish I had what they had. Thank God I've come to my senses
Should be a one year prison sentence for people that carelessly file for bankruptcy
There's a whole lot more going on than this half million of debt I hope she gets the help she truly needs....
She is not being straight forward.
Talk about living beyond your means. The arrogance necessary to accumulate this much debt is awesome.
If she files for bankruptcy, she WILL lose her job in banking. PERIOD.
I agree!!
They literally loaned themselves a great run and now wonât pay it back. They sound like awful people. She just laughed about the loans. Sounds like gambling debts to me.
I donât understand how Americans spend something they donât have. I came from Mexico and I was able to pay for my daughterâs education. At 57 Iâm debt freeâ€
