If it really is stuck simply put the bolts back, turn a turn out and put on ground, then drive 5m back and front. This normally will get them loose.

Hi Gary could you please guide me in changing my tappet cover gasket on my vw citi golf 1.4i 2009 model....I bought a rubber gasket by Goldwagen ....your insight will really be appreciated.

It is really straightforward, you have to remove the 8 x 10mm head nuts, and any pipes attached to the tappet cover, then lift the cover off the head, clean off the old gasket, then reverse the procedure with the new gasket in place, good luck, I hope it all works out.
