I'm obsessed with crocheting. I use a hook, but I love that there easier alternatives for people to enjoy crocheting by using a loom. There's absolutely nothing wrong with using tools to help you create. 🥰
I taught myself how to crochet on CZcams, by constantly rewinding the video, but my Afib gave me a right side stroke the next day and I was right handed so now I’m going to give this a try with ole Lefty 💪🏽🙂 Happy Crocheting 🧶
@@BooBuKittyPhuk That's a valid feeling to have. I get bored easily. I have ADHD, so using the hook keeps me engaged and less likely to be distracted. However, I have a friend who doesn't get easily bored and loom crocheting/knitting is perfect for her.

The pen that feeds the yarn is a new idea for me. Ive done loom knitting for years and never had that gadget. It seems to make the progress quicker even though I know this clip is sped up. I like this!!

My nana handknit and crotchet blankets for me and my siblings when we were kids. They meant so much to us as she made them with love. The girl in the video makes it seem like a souless chore but possibly a decent money earner.
Absolutely agree. Perhaps its good for those who have motor skill issues or arthritis, but being a crocheter myself, it feels like cheating to me. The love and dedication that goes into making blankets etc is absent in this.
Ooo thanks for this idea! My church does a yearly donation drive to a women's shelter that also helps with pregnancies and they always need more blankets, hats and booties. This is gonna help me make a lot of them!
It would be a blanket/afghan, not a quilt. It's just a flat one. With the size of those stitches, someone could use regular (large) needles and knit one in a day as well.
Hey, I think I can do that. That’s such a pretty blanket. You making someone very happy. 😊 I used to crochet with a crochet hook but it started hurting my wrist with aritnritis. One of the items everyone wanted was a long Shaw shaped like a triangle so I’m. Ade several of those.
I crocheted a blanket for my mother years ago it took me months to complete but it also showed how much I loved her to put in all the hours work. The old way is so much better.
If you can do it that's fantastic. I have arthritic fingers with nodules on my knuckles and below my fingernails. I don't grip well anymore. I doubt I could do what she's doing. But I have a better chance of making it that way. Or I can find something else to give 😏

It does look intimidating.Might be harder for crippled hands. Maybe not harder if one was never taught to crochet ?. My Mom could crochet. She learned from ladies she worked with. They all showed her during lunch break. Alas, she didn't have the patience to show me. She lost patience with me with sewing, embroidery, cake decorating and gardening but I picked them up myself. I like to make items out of the round looms like that. Hats scarves, neck cuffs. Small bells and cat toys. Havent made items with the flat loom yet. Looks interesting
That's what I was wondering about. So if your finished blanket gets a snag or a hole in it, the blanket will unravel. I think I will stick with regular knitting.

@@Oonagh72 It does help to wrap the yarn faster...it's like a ball point pen without the insides. I use a drinking straw instead...why (?)...because the inside of the straw is bigger than the diameter of the pen...works better for heavier yarn. I haven't found a loom pen in my crafting stores locally...but, I did find straws in my kitchen.😂😂🤗

This way confuses me. My mom taught me how to crochet a long time ago and I may only know how to do simple squares and chains but i made my mom a small blanket on my own before she passed. She was so proud of me even though it wasn't perfect She saw that i paid attention and tried to learn. I prefer the old way to anything. I miss watching my name crochet
It still takes love to put the time it takes to make a blanket…no matter how you do it with pure enjoyment and love of children….so you can make them faster…LOL…especially if you have arthritis in your hands….
It doesnt take skill to do this. If it was a real loom she'd be lost. Used crochet and sew clothes, blankets, anything i could do, until older i got my hands didnt work so well. Doing things the old way is a lost art.

Casting on? Casting off? Where did you get such a nifty pen shaped needle? I've got a loom set I got from Aldi at least 2 years ago, and instead of the nifty looking pen shaped you've got mine came with an awkward L shaped needle
The L needle is used to pass the previous round over the last one. It's the same as knitting. What she is using is a Loom Pen. It is used to turn the thread on each peg instead of with your fingers. This Loom Pen saves a lot of time when weaving on these looms. She is just showing the first step of weaving. 💜
I read in a earlier comment that Walmart and craft stores carry this item. I still do my crafts the old way. To old to change. I'd be afraid it would come unraved and have to start over.😮
Not a lot of people smile while concentrating on something they get zoned out into what there doing I'd rather see her work then her smile but that's just me you can tell she enjoys it or probably wouldn't do such a tedious thing but I love her videos as well.

You can actually empty a bic pen and use it.
Some one needs to do a demo of that pen or name it so we can look it up

You can get crochet hooks with large handle grips. I have to use those now and it helps with the pain in your hands
Try castor oil on areas that are inflammed. Works extremely well. One knee was sore ~ rubbed on and amazing!!

So, that’s how you use them. I have a bunch of them that were given to me with a bunch of yarn. The needle wasn’t included. So glad I saw this.

You do a nice job loom knitting. Takes me 2-3 hrs to machine knit a baby blanket, plus 45-50 minutes to knit a nice border.

It's being played so fast that you can't see how it's being done. You still have to grab the bottom loop and bring it up over the top one.

Do a longer tutorial, please! Almost 3 years ago I asked my neighbor to crochet me a baby blanket..she wanted $175. That was with me buying the yarn. I thanked her but said no. A few days later I found one at Salvation Army thrift store for $5.😊

Absolutely girly! That is the only way I can knit! I can crochet till the cows come home but the only knitting I can do is on the looms lol! 😂

It’s called a loom pen=) I got it at Joann’s.
you dont need to buy the pen though you can use a straw:)
just cut the straw to a decent shape but make sure its big enough to fit the yarn
or use a emppty pen its more sturdy
