I'm sure he didn't come across by himself. car next to him probably move to the centre of the track more and left him no choice. However he did put himself in that position.
Watch closely. 47 went wide and stayed out there. 666 just misjudged the turn-in and was already aimed to clip 945... wheels touched... etc. (the fender rules are supposed to prevent this exact type of accident.)

That's crazy. Also crazy that we have technology that allows walkaways from this sort of accident (roll cages, harnesses, etc)

Trying to go three wide is too common in LeMons. It often ends in tears.
