If there's a basic understanding about pH 7 is neutral ( water) lower number is acidic and higher number is alkali.
Soap is alkali , so the values will be more than 7

Sister great video. One observation would be the following. While you're right in that the bodys natural ph is around 6, soaps are typically between 8 and 10. Beyond 10 is probably when we need to worry as it can corrode and erode skin cells.
Thank you but when i researched mostly it said above 7 is neutral n above that is is alkaline n 1 to 4 is acidic . ofcourse handmade soaps have high ph as no ph balancer is used . these other soaps have loads of chemicals then why not use a ph balancer too . Thanks for ur point , , i agree , will research more on the topic .

sorry for the late reply , jus noticed i hadnt replied nu . The research says ph neutral or in the range 5 to 6 is skin friendly , soaps in the markets are mostly made to balance ph which is not possible in handmade soaps as they are free of chemicals . high ph soap wud lead to dry skin n deterioration of oils from skin . With those references the video was made .
As an Ayurvedic Physician specialised in cosmetology, I would say ph is not the only criteria which would decide the quality of soaps....ph of cold process soaps generally fall between 7 - 9 which we are safely prescribing for patients even with skin issues...that is a bit costly ofcourse...
The best solution is to use nalangu mavu or green gram flour if possible...these powders can dry the skin for a few, they can use these powders after applying sesame oil or coconut oil to the body...
If one can afford then cold process soaps made with Herbal oil and powders can be a good option...
nowadays sls/paraben free body washes are also available made from herbal decoctions with Ayurvedic doctors which is also a good option...
Yes ingredients play a vital role but with these chemicals loaded soaps , none sxore .very aptly said ,thats applicable for handmade natural products . These are loaded with chemical so why not they add a ph balancer was my concern . I totally agree that nalangu maavu is the best , am moving towards that for my personal care . So many years i'm using dove soap oly, its very adaptable to skin, well nourished compared to other soaps. U may find it out without Ph strip.
Lyk after bath with other soaps u may feel vry dried but not in dove
exactly it never dries skin , am using it for years too but only drawback is like other soaps , it does have chemicals n cant be said as best soap based on ingredients but if one is looking for moisturising properties then this is the best .

All soap are made by using KOH base only..above 7 pH range are base only..not our skin pH it s slightly acidic.. without base we can't prepare soap.. obviously its unavoidable.. know soap Is only cleaning purpose after cleansing we can apply toner to maintain the skin pH
