I wish I can get back into collecting them because the makes and models they have today are just beautiful! But, now I'm on Disability and cant afford it, but it would be great! I just ordered a truck off eBay, straight from china. It is a Street Weapon 1970 dodge d300 ramp truck, I ordered it just for the cab to use on a custom. I got it really quick considering it literally came to me from china, I tracked it the whole way…. I’m really impressed with it, I’d say it’s on par with m2 even comes screwed to a base with a plastic square dome, it’s a plastic chassis that is screwed to the cast cab and plastic ramp body, so easy to take apart, and it’s as detailed as any Greenlight or m2 or Johnny lightning. I also received my sweptline green machines from eBay, I’m pretty sure I have almost every color/model Greenlight 60s sweptline trucks now.
I just looked that truck up on ebay, and what a nice looking diecast model! I may have to buy one or two myself! It's showing a cost of around $35 CAD plus $8 shipping, which is a bit pricey but if on par with M2 then might be worth it for me.
This was 1 badass video M2 make some badass car's i love all of their scale even with small imperfections with the many parts i love them just keep clear parts glue and pin files handy to make adjustments to fit M2 pulled a slick one the auto lift Torino the cars are part of the auto driver's i notice in the blister at hobby lobby 2 years ago those are still on the pegs paint scheme look amazing but no metal base or opened parts
Bro, I’m sitting here working on my customs, watching you ever so gingerly open packages and remove rubber bands and talk about “buffing that out later”, and all I can do is look down at the pile of brand new 1/64 trucks in pieces in front of me, grinded and drilled and cut and glued and screwed, that I’ve paid too much for on eBay, and laugh to myself…. Love it, we all got our own way of doin it!
That is awesome! Making customs from new models is so much fun, I have to get back into doing that some day soon. Keep up the good times, keep drilling, grinding, and screwing! :)
A lot of us do not have an infinite supply of money from the government to just piss away wastelessly. I certainly don't. I can only afford mainline Matchbox or Hot Wheels or Maisto. When I get one of these "premium" brands (one or two every few months) I treat it very gingerly and make sure they are kept nice. I have never paid more than $10 for a single car.
Get some Testors model paint and just start touching up chips and dings. I just got a Kidco General Lee (which I only recently found out was a $80 car) that someone had gingerly touched up all the chips on it with hobby paint, which the chipping damage was all over the entire car. I wondered why on earth someone took the time to do that until I had a hunch and a faint memory about something about a general lee car being so rare. turns out it was this one!

Filmed by a guy on you tube going by “Diecast Dude” and at about an hour long he goes to a private museum of one of the largest diecast models in the world. It’s in Europe if not mistaken. Doesn’t show the whole thing but wow. Never knew they had cranes the size of which are incredible. I’m not promoting the channel just pointing you to it. Don’t know how else to dm you so. By sheer numbers you have that in common.
I have watched Diecast Dude before, and seen the video of the museum you spoke of. Extremely rich diecast collector with cranes as high as 8 feet and in clear display cases. Thousands and thousands of models of everything. That is truly a museum!
