Control didn't fight the darkness devil to a stand still. She beat it once but the second time looks like she was about to be overwhelmed, but since Control is calm people thought she had a chance. She was 100% about to lose that fight so she fled.
It's something that some people cannot understand which is beyond me. They do not understand that if she was more powerful than DD in hell, she would've ended their beef right then and there to destroy the possibility of future threats. Even if Makima was stronger she likely would had ran, the darkness devil is in hell so it wasn't a major potential threat and would have been a waste of lives. Just a quicker conclusion. Control power allows it to have complete control over those it has power over. If it don't know if it's stronger, it can fight it and if it wins, the first sentence becomes the rule. She fought it and didn't gain control over darkness which means she doesn't see itself as above or stronger.

I think the control devil's power in hell is a bit useless cuz she cant control those who are stronger than her, so being in a random fight like suddenly with a lot of devils is kinda waste of time and she'd probably lose anyway (cuz it's hard even for the chainsaw devil) so i think she more likely killed herself as soon as she got in hell so she can go to a safer environment plus i don't think it'll be good if any devil ate part of her, they'll get some of her power and that's bad, so she probably killed herself the moment she was there
My 2 theories about why Denji was able to kill the Control Devil was because it was not an action of malice. It came from a place of love. There may have been some part of that deal that required there to be a desire to harm for the damage to be transferred. My second theory is that because both Denji and the Control Devil wanted the same thing in that moment it didn’t count as inflicting harm. Denji wanted to be one with the Control Devil and they wanted to be one with Pochita. It was definitely a weird moment and I hope when it gets animated they go all with the animation and make the food look delicious.
*Reading comprehension devil, strikes again* The reason why Denji was able to kill Makima, is because he have Pochita concept eraser ability. Because Denji isn't Pochita, the ability is nerfed, so any devils Denji eats, will not get fully erase, it will die, take on a different form and come back to life with no memories of their previous life.

okay so actual spoier alert denji is not the control devil makima is. denji / pochita are often theorized to be the extinction devil or the forgotten devil. as they are based on the innate fear of non existence .
I think the way they phrased it was about phrasing, her contract was something like specifically if she was ATTACKED and killed or harmed, Denji however wasin love with her and as such didn't see what he was doing as an attack, nor when he ate her, he saw it as becoming one with her and as one of the truest reflections of his love for her, I think he ponders if thats what happened, as such her contract didn't trigger because she wasn't attacked. It was something weird it how the event was perceived in combination with how her contract with Japan was phrased.
I think it’s as simple as “eating the body isn’t an ‘attack’ “ If power was capable of having her blood mix with a devil and reduce its healing capabilities, the devil is incapacitated then eating it isn’t an attack and it can’t regenerate from being broken down into raw nutrients, there is no body left to heal from and it must reincarnate since it’s dead dead.
This theory has too many plot holes. Firstly, it was never stated or shown that the Control Devil is a primal devil. A primal devil is a devil born from the primal fears of humanity, meaning they exist since the beginnings of the stone ages and have been integrated as instinctual fears for every person and control is certainly not that since back then the humanity didn't even have the capacity nor need to create the concept, considering they were busy trying to survive the wild unknown world. Also I don't know if people remember the interaction so well, but Makima damaged the Darkness Devil once, before her second attack failed and she started getting folded and was hurrying to escape with the others. It was obvious she didn't view herself as superior to him, since he is one of the strongest devils in existence a one that was never killed, while she was most likely killed multiple times, considering she was in the human world to begin with and her form of immortality was because of contract made in the human world, making it pretty believable that she would be easily killed by him or even some lesser devils if she didn't have her knowledge and memories upon reincarnation. With my understanding of the power scaling out of the way and back to the theory, the Chainsaw Devil was stated to be able to erase the devils he eats and their respective fears and history out of human consciousness, but it was never stated that he has the powers to absorb them and use their powers, or that it makes him more powerful, other than it making him more feared of course. For example, from part 2 we know that he ate the Nuclear devil, but we have never seen Denji, nor Pochita in his chainsaw devil form pull it's, or any other devil's abilities for that matter. In the video there was a point made that because Denji can use Pochita's powers, because he is inside him, then he can use Makima's since she entered him too and we have the case with Power too, but those cases are very different from one another. In Pochita's case, he is alive and is functioning as Denji's heart, basically keeping him alive and he is not the first, proven by the other demi devils shown in the series, but he is actively letting Denji use his power. In Power's case, she was literally the Blood Devil, so retaining a part of her consciousness in her blood isn't impossibility and we saw that trough her dialog with Pochita, Denji and the fact she had enough blood to recreate her body and to create chainsaw for Denji. In Makima's case, she was eaten by Denji, thus not erased completely, but because her body was destroyed it ended her contract, so she was able to die. Unlike with Power's case, where she was still lingering around till all her blood was used up, we see the Control's reincarnation with Nayuta, meaning she had gone trough the whole cycle and nothing from her is alive inside Denji so he doesn't get any power ups or benefits from that. Lastly, if the part of the theory that a small part of her was consumed by Pochita in the process, it would just function as a nerf for Nayuta, rather than anything else.
In the 2nd part Denji said "don't open the fridge". So Denji didn't eat the whole Makima... so she still "exist". When he finishes eating her, Nayuta will disappear most probably. Speaking of Nayuta... I think it was most likely that when makima was resurrected in the Hell..she was killed by others for all she did on the earth, so she got back to the human world.
Is there such a thing as an answer devil in chainsaw man? The season ends off with a question, "between a country mouse and a city mouse, which would you rather be?" When thinking about the fears connection to the devils in the series, it makes me ponder. People tend to fear both answers as well as the unknown. Idk, just a thought.

I just noticed for the first time while watching this, that in the panel of Denji eating Makima @18:33 there's a pan on the wall that looks suspiciously like the control devil's eyes. It's like it's saying "from now on, I'll always be a part of you. I'll always be here." 😮 But yeah whatever the case I've always thought it weird that the control devil manifested here instead of in hell. Plus the fact that Nayuta was already like what 10 years old when Kishibe brought her to Denji. Do Horseman just grow up really quick or something? Idk 🤷🏼♂️
My personal theory is that the control devil was brought back to earth through the ties with Denji, but doesnt remember anything and so only has this infatuation with denji that she cant explain. So that infatuation becomes a mistranslation to them and they think of Denji as a loved family member as opposed to an adversary. Because they dont understand the conditions of their powers fully, they allow Denji to control them because of their infatuation, not really understanding the reasons why or the implications to their own power for doing so.
Denji is the chainsaw fiend not devil, he has some powers of his devil but not all the powers/full power. Denji eating the control devil doesn’t trigger the contract it had, since denji eating the body isn’t an attack on the control devil. However we know that it would “kill” the control devil in it currents form since it can no longer regenerate from that point into its current self anymore. Denji certainly didn’t erase the control devil, that much is certain. Why did the control devil reincarnate on earth? Well there is two possibilities, since it fled hell in pursuit of the chainsaw it wasn’t meant to go to hell anyway but earth, or, the control devil did go back to hell but the hell devil thing sent the control devil back to earth (maybe it’s some contract they had or it really couldn’t be bothered dealing with it after what the chainsaw devil did and the darkness devil situation which all happened because of the control devils shenanigans ).
I Alway's thought that the four horsemen were un erasable because they're needed concepts or sum like that especially since they can remember what the chainsaw devil erases.
When we seen the control devil in hell the 1st time she was summoned not killed and had active contracts in place that's why I think she was strong enough to fight toe to toe with the darkness devil. When actually killed and sent back to hell not only did she lose he memory but any of the extra edge she had with the active contracts so she might not have even been at half strength when sent back to hell which would make it easier to kill her in hell for another devil
Will admit I didn't see itachi being a good guy twist coming at all. Legit thought he was a tragic bad guy. As towards your video. Makima became what she was due to her upbringing. So should denji desire it he controls the control devil like it or not. I'd imagine should he ask her as she is now, that little girl will do anything and everything to fulfill denjis wishes. That being said it also gives us a interesting thought. Can a devils core nature change? And if so the only result I see in this is denji raising nayuta into ether another control or freedom devil if changing nature is possible. After all control is the flip side of freedom. Devil eraser didn't work because denji no longer had the true chainsaw man form like the one with the tendrils he can grab and fight with and much taller faster stronger. I think because he went back to basic chainsaw man and then ate Makima while in his human like form he couldn't use the eraser power. That's what I imagine I could be terribly wrong but the only time we see the eraser work from what I recall is in the true/ultimate chainsaw man form.
I dont think Pochota is actually the chainsaw devil. I think he's something much more sinister and he's somehow stolen the power and name of the original chainsaw. There's a popular post on reddit I really like that theorizes that pochita is the fear of being forgotten.
"Itachi is a good guy"... Sure, if you think killing off your entire clan simply because they MIGHT cause a coup on a town (including children and those who weren't even part of said possible coup) is an acceptable option. Doing this simply because he was told to do so by a guy who had a history of doing radical things, AND not questioning this in the least until much later. Yeah, Itachi isn't a good guy just because he loved his brother. He still was absolutely a mass murderer willing to kill off just about anyone before trying to think of a solution that would avoid violence. The whole Uchiha massacre could have easily been avoided just by having a conversation with them, letting the village know how important they were to Konoha, and making them feel like they were important instead of making them into outcasts (who happened to be quite powerful). Something the Hokage could have easily done, especially since Donzo knew they were plotting (and only plotting at that point) a coup so he could have taken this knowledge to the Hokage to at the very least TRY to stop it from happening before resulting in violence.

My theory/guess on the new form or why the control devil was found on Earth so fast is because it didn't die. Denji said ik this won't be enough to kill you and using Powers blood control he slowed the regeneration but not stopping it so my guess is that if devil eraser can work with just normal denji that it's way less effective then the true form? So when he crapped makima he digested some of her but when she was pooped she went through the plumbing of denjis toilet and ended up over at the end of the sewer or whatever it's called and was able to heal itself but because parts of the control devil had been digested it left the control devil with less power and memories that it once had and that's why the remains end up forming a kid sized control devil being less complete then Makima. I think he might be the punishment devil and that’s why Devil fear him because their punishment for causing the fear and suffering of humanity is what I believe to be a devil’s greatest fear being forgotten and why devils only remember the sound of his chainsaws is so the fear him and might try to do thing differently with their new personality it also might be why he’s called the hero of hell because he would protect the weaker devils and punish the more brutal ones

Basically denji reduced the healing capabilities of the devil, then through eating it the body is broken down into a state that it can’t regenerate from… so it just doesn’t regenerate and the devil simply must reincarnate itself a new body.
(And as everyone knows, when a devil dies and reincarnates they don’t remember how they ended up there)
Also also, since it’s kinda heavily implied that the chainsaw is what sends things to earth when it massacres the devils in hell… in a roundabout way it’s fiend did in fact kill it…

I think the way they phrased it was about phrasing, her contract was something like specifically if she was ATTACKED and killed or harmed, Denji however wasin love with her and as such didn't see what he was doing as an attack, nor when he ate her, he saw it as becoming one with her and as one of the truest reflections of his love for her, I think he ponders if thats what happened, as such her contract didn't trigger because she wasn't attacked.
It was something weird it how the event was perceived in combination with how her contract with Japan was phrased.

This theory has too many plot holes. Firstly, it was never stated or shown that the Control Devil is a primal devil. A primal devil is a devil born from the primal fears of humanity, meaning they exist since the beginnings of the stone ages and have been integrated as instinctual fears for every person and control is certainly not that since back then the humanity didn't even have the capacity nor need to create the concept, considering they were busy trying to survive the wild unknown world. Also I don't know if people remember the interaction so well, but Makima damaged the Darkness Devil once, before her second attack failed and she started getting folded and was hurrying to escape with the others. It was obvious she didn't view herself as superior to him, since he is one of the strongest devils in existence a one that was never killed, while she was most likely killed multiple times, considering she was in the human world to begin with and her form of immortality was because of contract made in the human world, making it pretty believable that she would be easily killed by him or even some lesser devils if she didn't have her knowledge and memories upon reincarnation. With my understanding of the power scaling out of the way and back to the theory, the Chainsaw Devil was stated to be able to erase the devils he eats and their respective fears and history out of human consciousness, but it was never stated that he has the powers to absorb them and use their powers, or that it makes him more powerful, other than it making him more feared of course. For example, from part 2 we know that he ate the Nuclear devil, but we have never seen Denji, nor Pochita in his chainsaw devil form pull it's, or any other devil's abilities for that matter. In the video there was a point made that because Denji can use Pochita's powers, because he is inside him, then he can use Makima's since she entered him too and we have the case with Power too, but those cases are very different from one another. In Pochita's case, he is alive and is functioning as Denji's heart, basically keeping him alive and he is not the first, proven by the other demi devils shown in the series, but he is actively letting Denji use his power. In Power's case, she was literally the Blood Devil, so retaining a part of her consciousness in her blood isn't impossibility and we saw that trough her dialog with Pochita, Denji and the fact she had enough blood to recreate her body and to create chainsaw for Denji. In Makima's case, she was eaten by Denji, thus not erased completely, but because her body was destroyed it ended her contract, so she was able to die. Unlike with Power's case, where she was still lingering around till all her blood was used up, we see the Control's reincarnation with Nayuta, meaning she had gone trough the whole cycle and nothing from her is alive inside Denji so he doesn't get any power ups or benefits from that. Lastly, if the part of the theory that a small part of her was consumed by Pochita in the process, it would just function as a nerf for Nayuta, rather than anything else.

In the 2nd part Denji said "don't open the fridge". So Denji didn't eat the whole Makima... so she still "exist". When he finishes eating her, Nayuta will disappear most probably. Speaking of Nayuta... I think it was most likely that when makima was resurrected in the Hell..she was killed by others for all she did on the earth, so she got back to the human world.

I just noticed for the first time while watching this, that in the panel of Denji eating Makima @18:33 there's a pan on the wall that looks suspiciously like the control devil's eyes. It's like it's saying "from now on, I'll always be a part of you. I'll always be here." 😮

My personal theory is that the control devil was brought back to earth through the ties with Denji, but doesnt remember anything and so only has this infatuation with denji that she cant explain.
So that infatuation becomes a mistranslation to them and they think of Denji as a loved family member as opposed to an adversary.
Because they dont understand the conditions of their powers fully, they allow Denji to control them because of their infatuation, not really understanding the reasons why or the implications to their own power for doing so.

Denji is the chainsaw fiend not devil, he has some powers of his devil but not all the powers/full power.
Denji eating the control devil doesn’t trigger the contract it had, since denji eating the body isn’t an attack on the control devil.
However we know that it would “kill” the control devil in it currents form since it can no longer regenerate from that point into its current self anymore.
Denji certainly didn’t erase the control devil, that much is certain.
Why did the control devil reincarnate on earth? Well there is two possibilities, since it fled hell in pursuit of the chainsaw it wasn’t meant to go to hell anyway but earth, or, the control devil did go back to hell but the hell devil thing sent the control devil back to earth (maybe it’s some contract they had or it really couldn’t be bothered dealing with it after what the chainsaw devil did and the darkness devil situation which all happened because of the control devils shenanigans ).
I Alway's thought that the four horsemen were un erasable because they're needed concepts or sum like that especially since they can remember what the chainsaw devil erases.
One loophole around the Control Devil's contact with Japan is if Japan either changes its name or gets absorbed into another country.
How is it possible to get absorbed by another country? I think the only way to defeat makima is by killing the Japanese President.
When we seen the control devil in hell the 1st time she was summoned not killed and had active contracts in place that's why I think she was strong enough to fight toe to toe with the darkness devil. When actually killed and sent back to hell not only did she lose he memory but any of the extra edge she had with the active contracts so she might not have even been at half strength when sent back to hell which would make it easier to kill her in hell for another devil

Devil eraser didn't work because denji no longer had the true chainsaw man form like the one with the tendrils he can grab and fight with and much taller faster stronger. I think because he went back to basic chainsaw man and then ate Makima while in his human like form he couldn't use the eraser power. That's what I imagine I could be terribly wrong but the only time we see the eraser work from what I recall is in the true/ultimate chainsaw man form.

The whole Uchiha massacre could have easily been avoided just by having a conversation with them, letting the village know how important they were to Konoha, and making them feel like they were important instead of making them into outcasts (who happened to be quite powerful). Something the Hokage could have easily done, especially since Donzo knew they were plotting (and only plotting at that point) a coup so he could have taken this knowledge to the Hokage to at the very least TRY to stop it from happening before resulting in violence.

My theory/guess on the new form or why the control devil was found on Earth so fast is because it didn't die. Denji said ik this won't be enough to kill you and using Powers blood control he slowed the regeneration but not stopping it so my guess is that if devil eraser can work with just normal denji that it's way less effective then the true form? So when he crapped makima he digested some of her but when she was pooped she went through the plumbing of denjis toilet and ended up over at the end of the sewer or whatever it's called and was able to heal itself but because parts of the control devil had been digested it left the control devil with less power and memories that it once had and that's why the remains end up forming a kid sized control devil being less complete then Makima.
