You can still get the feeling of the melodic songs with just a piece of it. But you need the full song to feel the expirience of the atmospheric.
correct answer
but i think the full atmospheric is better than the full melodic. honestly they are too different to be compared because they have different goals. both are great when done well!
Both are equally good black metal sub genres.
Best comment yet.
I prefer atmospheric black metal myself, but that’s just my preference
Right!
100%
The reason I love black metal so much because there are only a few rules, which leads to a whole lot of variety. It never, ever gets old.
@@FlashmanVC Dunkelheit!!
Dude. because of you i´ve known a lot more bands and good music. Thanks a lot. :)
Thanks mate ! Welcome !
Yep, same goes for me!
You simply cant top Dissection riffs. They're all pure magic
Sounded like Dimmu Borgir.
@@smallfaucet no. No, it doesn't.
@@smallfaucet Bruh they wish...
@@bojaylabrum9608 From this track the OP played, it sounded just like a DB track.
@@smallfaucet Dissection is nothing like Dimmu Borgir. If you haven’t listened to The Somberlain or Storm of the Light’s Bane and you like extreme metal you’re missing out
Knew this was gonna be a good one when you started with Drudkh!
Yep, he really came out swinging. Such a great band!!!
Слава Україні! Ні війні!

This man knows his Melodic Black Metal, wow
Thanks for putting new stuffs like Stormkeep and Faidra!
So cool to see Stormkeep among all these great bands :D
(Btw Slaughtersun by Dawn is such a good album, as another comment say, your song choices are top notch haha !)

Не ожидал увидеть тут группу Путь. Годнота видос, пили ещё
Great selection of bands and songs, and I have no favorite "genre" Both are just as great as the next... Loved that you played some Faidra;)
Great atmo black selection! I love Drudkh so much
My favorite band
Drudkh for the win!!!!!
Same, I was stoked that was the first thing he played
Love it. You picked a lot of my favorite Songs from older and new stuff. Perfect. Thank you so much.
Always nice hearing you cover awesome bands 🤘
I also like your profile pic 😁...
agreed, they are amazing
Got to thank you! I keep finding bands i've never heard of, since i watch your videos! Dissection is a new favorite band for me now. 🤘🏻
You never heard of Dissection? Have you just started into black metal?
@@hewhoshallnotbenamed8228 probably he don't know either the singer committed suicide in 2006
Likewise I don’t really dip into black metal but this definitely helps!
Dissection is utterly FLAWLESS 🤘🤘🤘 just hearing a single riff is bone chilling goosebumps.
didnt know about dissection but glad I do now. Gives me in flames jester race vibes which is good
The logo of these bands are so beautiful, and unique
Always a kickass performance. Thanks a million for another awesome battle. 🤘✌️
Nice to see Stormkeep, Faidra and Mörk Gryining, some of the bands I've been listening to the most lately
I have a soft spot for Atmospheric Black Metal, but both genres are freaking awesome!

As a pianist I'm a sucker for Symphonic Black Metal. Emperor, Limbonic Art, Old Dimmu Borgir, Dark Fortress etc that's my bag.
This was like a "who's who of bands Fredrik listened to in the early 2000s". What an amazing blast from the past. Kudos to great bands and an amazing cover.
All your selections for melodic black metal are some of my favorite bands. Dope video!!!
Didnt expect Put'/Path/Way to be featured here. Awesome video!
Always loving these videos! I keep thinking I listen to a ton of metal and then compilation videos like these show up and I get introduced to more and more bands. Also, loving the hair!
Great stuff, need a part 2!
Path is the band that got me into Atmospheric black metal back when that album was released. Great band, keep up the good videos.
Path is one of the first ABM bands I heard
Excellent video! song choices were perfect for hearing the differences side x side. I love them all.
I have always enjoyed the selection of bands in all your videos
Good job and thanks for the video
Dissection, Sacramentum and Vinterland ftw
I love this way to know new metal bands and I love that u play a great song of one of my favorite band... Summoning. Great and awesome video :D 🤘🏻
Yeah, Vinterland! Thanks for that! One of my alltime favourite!🤘
...and by the way, all of the songs are excelent selections!🤘💀🤘
You turned me onto alot of great bands. Love your channel. Thanks
I love how when ever I watch you do these black metal videos especially, you do just look deep in thought and content. You are not a show off, but my god you are a masterful player.

If you like Slaughtersun from Dawn, i think you will listen No peace. No dawn from Ad finem omnia
We have many masterpieces up here ;)
Slaughtersun album in whole is a masterpiece and Stalker's Blessing is my fav :)
@@doudoudime383 i saw this album on BMP and i think will follow your suggestion, ty ;)
@@skogeniswashed you're welcome.
Great selection. Well done 🤘🏼
This is great, I like the comparisons and intro to some obscure names I’ve never heard of.
Wow, mega Video ! Du hast uns alle wieder gekillt ! Und endlich ist der Tag gekommen, an dem ich Naglfar - Vittra von dir hören durfte !
Das war nur ein Schnipsel, das ganze Album ist pures Gold, mein Lieblingsalbum.
Dude nice video and thanks a lot to show me "Dawn" Slaughtersun...what sick album.
These videos are always a good watch.
I love them both, and I often find that it is possible for them to meet in twain. For a perfect harmony of genre.

Maaaaaaaaaan, these are my two favorite metal genres. Thanks! 🤘🏽
Awesome video man, love the Melodic Black Metal selection!
i love them both equally! and i can really get lost in both of them. they're some of my favourite subgenres of black metal and i cannot get enough of them 🖤🤘
also i really love your playing, it's amazing
Same here and for me subgenres of Black Metal are kind of funny because I don't really like "normal" black metal that much but Athmospheric/Melodic/Post/Blackgaze I love
Outstanding! Love this channel. My lady and I throw these on the tv and are either saying “f&@k yeah” or “no way, the other one is better”. Cheers!
that were some damn good picks for the melodic ones! most of them are already fav albums of mine :)
I need spotify playlists of just the songs from these videos. Damn you know your stuff
Woooooow fantastic!!! More Black Metal please...great video👏. Graciñas e saúdos☠️🤘
Nice profile pic
@@oskar356 Thanks...my favourite Metal logo with names of my loving daughters👌
Oh fuck yeah! You just made my morning. Not just the band choices, but the songs as well. I was kinda waiting for A Canorous Quintet to appear on the melodic side.
These are allll bangers!!! Thank you!!
What a nice surprise to see Evilfeast! Really great one man project.
Great work man, love these styles 💪
Thanks mate !
amazing video, thank you so much! some skills there!!
So many great bands! Superb video
Epic riffs are epic. Can't choose a winner this time.
Great quality btw. A shame you still haven't got 100k subscribers.

Dank dir ! Gruß zurück !
Awesome. More black metal here please! ♥ 🖤
Excellent choices! Well done.
Sacramentum - Far Away From the Sun is one of my favourite albums. Stormkeep - Tales of the Othertime was in my top 10 releases from 2021. Faidra - Six voices Inside in Top 50 from 2020. Lord Belial are highly underrated by many and Path is a band i found hunting through youtube. Great selection.
Throwing Stormkeep in was clutch! 🤘🏾🤘🏾
I'm so glad youtube randomly recommended stormkeep - toto to me. Definitely one of the better Melodic black albums in recent years.
@@JvG0 i first heard them on Black Metal Promotions channel with their Galdrum EP.
Love me some Lord Belial
Sehr Geil! Ein Track von Boötes Void (2:40), hätte nicht gedacht, dass die noch jemand großartig kennt, die haben definitiv mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdient!
Honestly I feel like both are extremely melodic genres. So both for me :3 . amazing guitar work as always. Thanks for the great video OwO
I enjoy all your videos. Great work!
Danke schön.👍🤘
I love melodic black metal.
Great video as always. Greetings from Brazil!🤘🤘🤘
omg i needed this so much right now
Good stuff as usual my man ! Keep it up 🤘🏻
Enjoyed that 🔥🔥
I think this is the first time I've know and loved so many of the bands on one of these videos :)
Just bought Vinterland's album "Welcome to My Last Chapter", lead there by your demonstration of their track. That album is fucking dope is so is your guitar playing. Thank you sir.
Awesome video!
Amazing guitar skills I love this video so much tbh
Fantastic selections! It's too hard to choose... I'd say atmo overall but Far away from the sun, Enter the moonlight gate and Vittra are great albums too (although I'd have gone with something from Sheol but I'm nitpicking). And now thanks to you I've learned about Path. Awesome. 🤟
Good Video and very Nice playing brother !! \m/
Not much of the metal I listen to could be categorized as "beautiful," but atmo-black and melo-black truly are.
Been getting back into black metal lately after not listening to it for 10 - 15 years. Gives me some bands to check out =}
Top video as always and love your playing =}
Caladan Brood
I always go out of my way to suggest Ne Obliviscaris to people. Their new album drops in a few months too.
i’m absolutely stoked you featured Путь as they are amazing and
The algorithm gods have blessed me this day. It wasn't what I asked for, but it is what I needed.
Beautiful images in the background.
So many sick riffs!
Thanks for the bands choice bro 🍺
Amazing job!
ПУТЬ 👍🏻🤘1:51
For me Atmospheric, The Depths my favorite. Thanks for this Suffocation !! Great job
Summoning baby! Great video
Excellent track picks and playing.
Awesome work
This video made my day, love the choices in here too. Reminds me I need to download more Lord Belial. Masterpiece as usual! ♡
The only one who play according the tempo
Totally grateful bro\m/
Good stuff!
Mate, thanks for introducing me to more bands!
Excellentttt Perfectttt am a fan of both!!!
I just love putting on some atmospheric black metal while painting my Warhammer minis. It's such a good mood
This is awesome!
TY my friend, all this band is very goood, but for me and just for me, Burzum, dissection and summonig is the best.
It was the first time I saw summoning played on the guitar, wow!
It was short but it was good.
great selection...and playing. Learned some new bands
Great picks!
I don't know why this popped into my recommended videos but I'm really glad it did
Badass as always
Wow! Amazing riffs, melodies, emotions....
As a devout fan of the melodic black metal scene, you’ve just about touched up on every essential album. If only we could have gotten Ancient God Of Evil by Unanimated and Tales From Eternal Dusk, the pantheon would of been complete. Regardless, you shred like you always have. Keep on ripping brother! 🤘
Thanks for the recommendations!
Hey man, could you suggest some good melodic black metal bands that don't talk about Satan or devilish stuff? I'm trying to get into the subgenre, but I don't know how to start (I mostly listen to melodic /progressive Death metal)
@@alexconnor3368 Of course. Overall, all of the melodic black metal albums featured by Suffocater in this video are essential as I have stated above. But for albums for beginners with less of a satanic theme or imagery are as follow:
Vinterland’s sole release “Welcome My Last Chapter” is a solid gem for beginners, with a more clean production and somber tone to the sound.
Recommended track: “As I Behold the Dying Sun”
Next I would follow up with “Tales From Eternal Dusk” by Dark Fortress as I mentioned above. The album provides much more of the harsh black metal riff-craft than its other melodic black metal contemporaries. One that invokes much more of a fantasy setting than an apocalyptic one.
Recommended track: “Twilight”
And finally, “Vittra” by Naglfar harnesses the aggression of Dissection and intricacy of Unanimated to create the melodic majesty in question.
Recommended track: “Through the Midnight Spheres”
As I said before, all of the songs and albums featured in this video are quintessential and must-listen to. So give them all a try if you can.
@@overkilled653 Thanks man, I appreciate the suggestions. Gonna check them out whenever I can
Such a neat video
