Since those are both retired products do you have a current product that you suggest instead of the infrared receiver and control?
Yer luv it. .slower one
Definitely like the IR Receiver method better even if it's costs a bit more
After 8 years, I finally got the creator expert ferris Wheel set, so it is getting added to my 2024 project list. I am glad I finally have it in my collection.
You could also look into some gear reduction techniques. Adding larger gears or multiple smaller gears will change the output ratio and will give you a slower RPM than the original, without adding any additional loud motors.
Thats a good idea. I have 2 motors out for delivery now!
What a cutely slowly idea you done to your Farris wheel
🤩🤩🤩🤣🤩🤩🤩
Put any characters taking a ride on😄
Definitely an improvement! But I agree that the IR motor is the best option.
i may use that one day
Thanks Bricksie
Very nice, I love your videos

Bricksie, another good method that is a little chunky is adding more gears or taking them away and then hooking up the motor technic piece, 3D printer academy shows a great video on gear boxes. I would build a lego gear box then build a small building to house it and reduce the sound a bit.
Nice useful video Bricksie! Like!
I love this set! I learned how to motorize it a few months ago with my technic mindstorms kit! And I can adjust the speed through the app which works really well!
Love that, thanks for sharing those methods. I just built the Ferris Wheel, and want to add power.
Another way to do it is to use rechargeable battery box, which also has speed control dial.
Wow! 2 videos in one day? Good job
Much better at the slower speed - IR option is a great idea so you can control the speed. Got to love the worm gear method for its simplicity, but I’d go IR!
Agreed!
Hi Bricksie! You are my inspiration in Lego!!! Congrats for the city and everything
Use the IR receiver. The other method sounds like the ride is breaking down. Can't wait to see the Amusement Park. 😄😄😄😄
I use that same worm gear method you mentioned. I agree it's loud but usually there will be many different motors going for other things at the same time.
Nice tutorial ! I prefer the ir remote setup just for the simple fact that it is quieter.
The best way is to hook it up to a 9 volt transformer using a 9 volt to powerfunctions cable. No batteries, no receiver, just plug in and regulate the speed.
This is one of my top favourite Lego sets.
You can also power the motor via the 4548 Train Control Unit then you don't have to worry about batteries. You also get variable speed control (6 different speeds) that way too.
Just got my motor for my one I building outta extra parts n parts i need. Make a order.for parts i need. .got the side beam s part built. an sume the tehcnic part s...got a few moc builds on the go....Sean yar epic pic on face book..with this set ...
The cabs on my set keep sticking and just stay upside down on the way round, is there a way to make them more slack so they turn easily?
I knew it but it nice to know how
Neato
Definitely the IR receiver is the better of the two. I think the other method is way too slow. The IR receiver method allows the speed to vary which is what you would be doing while you were loading the ferris wheel and makes stopping in the loading position more exact but I do like the ability to then speed it back up when it's really moving. This set is what got me into Lego 5 years ago.
Other method, just use the rechargeable power boxes with built in speed controller....
Where do you buy the power cord
We are waiting for the Lego haul
Why not just use the powered up hub and control the speed of the motor through the app
Bricksie what camera do you use cause I want to be just like you
I have 6 cameras. I would recommend starting with a good phone.
@@Bricksie I use my iPad but I think it is time for a upgrade what camera do you use out of the 6 and witch one do you recommend
HaHAa, FeRrIS wHeEl gO BrRrRrRrRrR...............
If you put the ir receiver and battery box the look ugly for the back side😥
In the new amusement park layout you will not see them
Nice but i dont have this
Mrs. Bricksie is a total babe! Yeah, I said it.
My method is very similar to your number 2, however I use a worm gear box (part 32239) which holds everything in place in a more compact, stronger way.
