Man, this guy right here is a PLAYER!
He is an impressive player. Iâd like to hear him say more by playing less. Too much flash is like too much spice.
Ha ha, I want him to shred MORE with that beautiful clean tone
Shhh! Don't tell his boyfriend!
The Energy I get from watching this video is overwhelming, I have to pause and take 30 seconds rest every 2 minutes
This guy is like a steam roller... too much energy for me personally.
@@quantametric good to know
Jay is the perfect combination of well spoken, straight to the point, informative and an excellent player. Wow.
Really appreciate it!
If I might elaborate on that: Jay is the perfect combination of well spoken, straight to the point, informative and an excellent player and actor hired to sell this particular brand of pickups. Wow.
I like to swap pickups every once in a while for fun. Nothing, not one single little thing in the intricacies of R&D development of pickups should ever warrant a price like this. From a business point of view, I kind of respect it tbh: just ask a crazy price and a bunch of people will believe it's _gotta_ be worth it, right?
Twangy and surf is why I bought a Telecaster. I grew up with those soundsâŠThanks for the great demos.
Dude, you don't need to be selling pickups, you need to be filling auditoriums.
im sure he does both as most working musicians do, piecing together their living. the idea of the "rockstar" who only makes his living playing in a band you recognize by name, is virtually dead. seems like a pretty killer session guy
Awesomely talented no doubt
set speed to 0.5 to make him sound and look like he just returned from a pretty wild pub crawl
LMFAO! I had to set it to 0.25 just to be able to see his fingers moving.
Holy Crap. I just did that and busted a gut! I didn't even know you could.
He sounds normal at 0.75.
Dude he sounds plastered lol
@@chasefairchild8790 the only thing missing is him giggling for no reason at all
Dude! You rock! Great playing! You really understand the slight differences in sound and know how to break them all down very well!
They all sound amazing and that mainly is because of your great playing. You could make a toilet seat with strings sound good
I know, it doesnât matter what he plays, he is an absolute wizard
Thank you for taking the time to put this up, it's very helpful and your playing is phenomenal!
Love your energy, expertise and enthusiasm. Great review. You're an awesome player! Beautiful tones.
Wow. Best product demo playing Iâve ever heard. Seriously. Not just skill, but entertaining, informative, and to the point.
I came back to this. I just love the way you play! About to build a Tele copy with students at school as they complete their projects.
If I was selling pickups, you'd be the one I'd want to demo them. Super nice personality, crazy playing and technique, very fun. Knowing the tones, priceless. I am a new builder and will definitely consider Tone Specific.
I love that in between position of the jazz set. It's close to a strat. Perfect for funk and the 80s West Coast pop/soul a la David Pack/ James Ingram.
Yes
That first tele is gorgeous. I love the look of Bigsbys on a tele.
love that you actually enjoy what you are playing. that makes the review way more useful.. real. thanks :)
I like the curly maple on the first tele you've played, thanks for demoing these I've been looking for a good set of PUPS to upgrade my mim 50's tele
this guy is nuts , thatâs triple harmonic to mimic the sleepwalk slide guitar was insane at 2:50
Thanks :)
Sick picking dude! I have been looking to mod out my tele and this video was a great help! Keep up the dope content!
I really liked the Jazzy. Love those tones. Thank you for the examples.
Dude, you've got some killer chops. Respect!
Bro I watched for the pickups as Iâm building a tele but holy crap did you have me roped in with your playing. You are unreal.
Yes! I've been waiting for this oneâŠ
Heâs a monsta! Wow. Impressive! Love his playing and energy.
I really liked the punchy set...I am just starting out my journey and starting it on a Tele copy that will require new pickups as I advance. I'm mostly a Classic Rock/Blues Rock/ Southern Rock fan, so I think the punchy or blues sets are more in my wheelhouse. This video really has helped me with what I may be looking for in the future. Thanks.
absolutely the best comparison demo. thanks so much
Really appreciate it!
I love the way you play. I'm looking at building a Tele kit, and decorating it with antique advertising.
Thanks for your videos! Good job, man!
Fuuuu... barely a minute in, and you remind the world why you're like the most exciting players to listen to! Astig! Pro - straight to the point. No fluff. Straight up ear goodness!
Great series of videos Jay, thanks. I always enjoy watching you play a Tele. My preference would be Twangy, and I enjoyed hearing your brief version of Sleepwalk with the help of the Bigsby.
Ah man, and I love the dedicated video you did on the Twangy set. Heaven!
Thanks so much! They definitely have sizzle for days :)
I got what was at the time called something like their Country for Tele set and have never looked back. Whatever they have created now has got to be great as well. Thanks Jay.
Sweet demo!.....thank u for the demonstration!
Thank you, I enjoyed and appreciated this video. Nice chops, too.
Damn dude, that guitar tone in the intro was awesome.
Great comparison and great video!
This guy went through like 10 songs in 30 seconds at the end, amazing.
Very nice, and informatory! Thanks
Excellent tutorial... awesome demos !
Great job Jay! Thx.!
I'm putting the tele together right now , Ash body, Rosewood neck.. I played mainly Progressive heavy stuff but I love the cleanliness ofbguitar-amp... and it found through 30 years and change of playing that I like lower output pickups I use Bill Lawrence for years and when you measure them there are below there sometimes 10 ohms and less, Dime bag knew ;) great video gonna view the others now.....so many choices
wow that is hands down the best playing during a tone demo ive ever heard wowowowow
WOW to that playing, great vid.
Amazing player, great understanding of sound. Your Tele video is a must see!
Nothing better than watching a demoer enjoy playing the guitar!
That was great.
Great video. I have just put a Dimarzio chopper T in my Hansen Tele. Game changer! For a covers band it gives you everything.
great sound samples of different impedance in tele pickups, well done mate, cheers from oz
Love the twangy set very much
I think you just make everything sound awesome! đ€đ»đ€đ»đ€đ»đđđ
Great video, I just built a blackguard tele and I'm not sure what I want to put in it, you're enthusiasm descriptions and playing was phenomenal , this may take a while, I liked them all đł, thanks đ
do you do your own electronics/ wiring? I am interested in hearing other people's experience as I am looking at modding my tele.
Great comparison thank you!
Thanks mate this vid was a great help. I'm looking at a Jazzy set. I like it for blues and funk. Kudos
You are a very happy man. I like your enthusiastic..
Man I could listen to him play all day!
LOVE that Blues set!
Nice playing. Those pups do sound classic to their genres.
Nice touch with the color grading.
Only 90k views in 2 years?
One of the few videos that letâs the playing do the talk.
Hell yeah, it's fantastic! This totally just speaks the language.
Love the country twangy pups.Need more info PLEASE!
Iâd go see you play if you were around RI.GREAT PICKING!! Ray
Love watching this bloke play.
I really appreciate it :)
amazing video , thanks .
Nice review man. They all sounded really good. I'd personally lean towards the Bluesy set being that I like to play blues and it still has that classic tele sound.
Thank you for demonstrating the clean sets. I've noticed CZcams guitarists often start with overdriven sounds and only get more distorted as their videos progress. That, and the posturing statements about their loudness and gigging, make videos like yours more appreciated. Peace.
Fantastic video and fantastic player
Great video man. Punchy would definitely be the set I would be going for. I'm actually looking for a set for a Squier Tele I just picked up.
That is some playing...superb.
Really good video and comparison. I would love to see you do the old strat vs tele vs lp kind of videos
This is a GREAT video. The pickups all sound very different. Iâd get the 52 Twang for originally Tele sounds and 51 Jazz for a second Tele to play⊠jazz. I like the Rock ones too, but Iâd stick with a Strat for that kind of sound. Again⊠fantastic video (and killer playing man⊠super talented!).
Edit: Holy moly, these are expensive pickups! Theyâre all $395 in October 2023. Yikes!
Great player and great presenter. The high energy kept me wathhing! Love the enthusiasm - keep it up!
Love the sounds! Twangy and bright is good!
Panalo..astig..galing mo bro..good job..i kinda love to have different telecasters..thanks for this nice pick ups/guitar eviews..keep it up
Somehow, I need to achieve ALL these with my one Tele. Hehe. You're a beast, by the way.
great tele guy, straight to the point.
You are one HELL of a tele player!
Jay got chops!!
Really nice man. You bring those pickups to life. It's all about the twang when it comes to the tele for me. I have plenty of guitars, but I have four sets of pickups for my tele. :) Pole magnets, bottom magnets, over wound and under wound at the bridge. Mine is cut for a P90 at the neck and the staple pickup rules. I hate muddy pickups, they go straight into the "not quite ready to throw them out" parts box.
Nice work Jay! That Jazzy set is sweet.
Excellent!
Nice playinâ and a ton of great info...
Another great vid J...I have to go with the spanky twang, although they all sound really good.
I have to agree with you, they all sound amazing.
That point made with punchy about cutting through a band I think great point never mentioned enough with pickups or amps sound etc , all of them sound very good my favorites are 1 the Twangy for great Tele sound , 2 Punchy , Jazz 3 and the blues set but I think could live with any of them . Yes great guitar playing sure adds to all Thanks !
Awesome vid man
I'm a 41 years old man from Argentina and i'm recently discovering the telecaster sound and country music. Man it's difficult. Wish had a teacher to learn that technic you use in the twangy.
Wow I loved this video. Just got a classicvibe BSB tele and possibly wanting to upgrade the neck pickup. this may help me make a decision.
I love the sound of the jazz set. But if I was to put a set in my guitar itâd probably be the blues set. I really enjoy that sound when playing.
Your video is the best reason ever to own 4 telecasters
Awesome review, Jay! Here's some mods I just ordered parts for my G&L ASAT Bluesboy - Bigsby B5 and swapping out the Alnico humbucker in the neck with a Lollartron. Looking to get a little more surfy/Spaghetti Western love out of her :)
You're a good player. Thanks for this video
The jazz and punchy ones are so much what i want to go for.
The twangy bigsby is so gorgeous
The top on that first telecaster is so beautiful
Man I love your energy!!!!!!
Awesome talent too
Hey Jay, great playing, great energy, great video! I was wondering what the bridge system was on the first guitar you were playing? the one with the bigsby. please let me know, thanks!
Wow, what a great video
I love this. Awesome.
Damn son, dude knows how to play! My vote: Jazzy ..surprising considering I came into this almost sure I would dig the Punchy one the most. Go figure? Sounded slick can't lie.
Hi Jay Leonard, thx for all your content I really enjoy it đ€. Tone Specific pickup are not in my budget. What would be an alternative for you personally with your playing and sound style?
Great video đ
I would choose the punchy because those fit my style of playing best !
I run the Seymour duncan qourter punder in my bridge on my 1962 Rosewood Ash body telecaster. It has high crisp tone and its must to beef it up.
So there you have my choice đ
Best regards from Scandinavia Sweden đžđȘ
That was awesome!
Jaycaster ! I will wait for this guitar
Excellent player and tone
