  • With the new tires installed on the wheels, I now reinstall the wheels, calipers and exhaust muffler back on the bike.
The removal of these components is shown in another video "Wheel Removals".

Great video and good refresher . installed Roadsmart 3s on my 2017 R1200R. Identical bike mechanically. Thanks for the tip on the 12mm hex.

jamesf893 That is precisely why I am positing all these videos even where there are similar processes for the GS. The RS must be represented.

I really want to learn . The dealer charges $700 +++ for servicing .

Well keep watching. 😀 I am no expert but I will not be paying those ridiculous prices if I can avoid it.

Thanks. Helpful video. So if you are out there and need to fix a tire, looks like the small tool kit under the seat may not be enough. Is that right?

Thanks Reg. Absolutely correct about the small tool kit under the seat. Not sure what that is for aside for loosening / tightening a few nuts and screws, and removing the oil fill plug, and maybe undoing the oil drain plug.
If you are out there and need to fix a puncture that is in the tread of the tire then you need a tire plugging kit, which does not require the tire to be off the bike.

Grumpy Goat you are spot on. Just have to carry the plug kit. I don’t want to get stuck out there with the kit at home 😢

Exactly. I have the Stop N Go plug kit with compressor permanently kept in my top box along with rain gear, first aid kit, etc.
