I was over the moon happy it went so much better!!!! What a relief! She will be just fine! No doubt rookie of the year coming! The others are not playing as good as her. She is special for a good reason!!!! She is Ionescu’s clone!
@TheBenDanielPodcast Many of you are still missing the point: They still lost by more than 10 but you act like this was a win - They need to be a better TEAM (not find ways to feature caitlin) - She's not that good on defense and she may never be. She's not Candace Parker - who can give you 10 or more boards and can play all 5 positions - Aja and Stewart are like that too..... not Caitlin though - they need better defense to beat these top teams ... which is why focusing on Clark is not the issue: They need to engage really good athletes on their team: Victoria Saxton, Boston, Mitchell... and yes Clark. Saxton only played a few minutes - but shes a good defender. The Fever need to take advantage of that and engage Saxton. They need to start ON DEFENSE with really tight tough D, then turn steals and turnovers, blocks into fast breaks - The logo 3s are a distraction - Clarks' best asset here is that she's super quick and a great passer on the fast break - plus her shooting should create space for the half court sets and pick n roll etc. THey need to utlize their better athletes to have a decent or good defense but they won't have it if all you guys and the coaches think about is "How can we make sure Caitlin has great games" Iowa couldn't win the National Title playing their style - all that did was make Clark a superstar... but this isn't the NCAA - and even then IOWA couldn't even win the NCAA So why try to make the fever "Like IOwa"? All that does is feed the crowd/ the uneducated/ casual fan masses who just wanna see caitlin get on the board. That's not the formula for winning when you have rosters in the WNBA that are COMPLETE and well rounded. the point is "How do we WIN These games" not "how do we satisfy the millions of Clark fans"?
Just remember: If you all are craving those games when she scored 40 back in college: Rememeber..... What happened in the Championship? she scored 18 in the 1st Q but then only 7 the whole rest of the game when little Raven Johnson guarded her. The WNBA has MUCH better defenders than Raven... So if you think letting Clark shoot so much that she scores 40 is the key to victory - thats' foolish.... these good teams if Caitlin and the fever try that strategy will simply force clark into a bunch of turnovers and bad shots - she shot 40% in yesterday's "Good Game" from 3. The percentage will be ALOT lower if she keeps trying to force shots against good, tall, athletic defenders in the WNBA Even steph curry has terrible shooting nights... and he's 6 ft 3. Not 6 ft like Clark. Curry wouldn't collapse to the ground the way Caitlin did on a hard screen yesterday- she's going to get hurt if she keeps taking those hits. She's not one of these top athletes like Aja wilson , or a beast like Khaleah copper or a speed freak like kelsey Plum (she doesn't have that speed to the basket)... she's good but not Kelsey Plum "good". She's a thin little model like 6 ft tall (skinny/ scrawny) .... and that's why many of you like her so much Being part of the "I wanna smash with Clark " fan club does not make you basketball analysts. But that doesn't maker her the top basketball player. We saw in the college championships why she's not the best most important player - if you had a draft of all WNBA players caitlin might be chosen 1st but it's not because of basketball: IT would be because she helps her team and all other teams make so much more money. But it s not bc of basketball talent solely. SHe's not Parker, Stewie, Aja WIlson.... she doesn't have that ability "Talll Skill will always beat Small skilled.... You can't grow enough to guard me" - Kevin McHale Caitlin could never guard those elite athletic bigs. She can barely guard a "small" like Kelsey Plum
@@MrLarryLessor I think you are right on all counts. I think the point other people are trying to make is that there are other teams that do what you just described. There are other teams, and players that are really good, play very sound basketball on both sides of the court. None of that has mattered when it comes to the WNBA. The league has been irrelevant, until now. Caitlin, and her style of play has elevated the WNBA to relevancy. She is why the crowds are coming out, she is why they now are getting chartered flights, she is the reason the salaries will go up. People want to see her play her game, more than they want to see her team win. It would be great to have both if you’re a Fever fan, but it’s her style that is putting butts in the seats. I will admit, until Caitlin, I never watched a WNBA game. They weren’t even on my radar. Now, I check every Caitlin highlight. Not because I care about the team, but because I loved watching her play at Iowa. I know there are die hard WNBA fans, but we all know the abysmal attendance rates. If she will rise the WNBA up, more power to her. The wins will come.
Not the owner, this was above her! This call came from the WNBA. I also think the fans in the comments started to scare her. It was full of “Fire Sides” comments.
The coach did what she should have done since day one. Move out of the way and let Caitlin do her thing. Eventually, as time goes on, they are going to surround her with more and more better players. She is an ATM machine for the WNBA and she has a lot of rich people money invested in her. And the WNBA has to keep those investors happy.
@@JimmyRay7159 She is getting her minutes every game. Obviously getting the ball too because she is making a lot of turnovers. Everyone just had to pick up their effort and they did. They are just not good enough to beat new york. They need more talent on the roster.
As a fan, this Fever game was more exciting to watch. offense flowed, more movement, but players were still lazy, not yet realizing that they WILL get a pass if Caitlyn warranted.
YES! Berger needs Playing Time. Word is they're saving Berger and another player to Trade them and don't want them hurt beforehand. Trade for More First Round Picks. They are Wasting both Boston(She May Be Done) and Caitlin, so why give them more first round picks to Waste?
An entirely different game occurred b4 our very eyes when Caitlin runs the show. She makes her team better--period. The fast pace and energy were due to Clark leading the charge. The players need to trust her hoop IQ and stop fearing their relevancy is in jeopardy. Jealousy and ego destroy a team. Everyone's accolades will shine when leadership with confidence is evident. Let go of any resistance held within and the stars will shine❤
I’m confused because they still lost. Or do u mean a better game just because she scored more. Yall do know this is a team sport one person can’t win a game. Are yall looking for the team to win or just for cc to look good losing ??
Sides should still be fired, needed defense but never put Celeste Taylor or Lexie Hull in , Kristy Wallace was no help 1 for 5 , Aliyah Boston looked terrible like she has no confidence left in her game she looked gassed an unsure what to do next, Erica Wheeler needs to be traded. Fever players still can't seem to catch a pass from a Caitlin or make simple layups. The fact that this team is so out of shape and bad at fundamentals lets us know they haven't really been coached. Caitlin needs to control/orchestrate the offence in every game . She’s a complete offensive force, scorer and playmaker. Unfortunately this team is going to continue to struggle the fever aren't going anywhere until the starting lineup has some changes including the coaching spot.
@@NoName-zm1ks Wrong. She's a turnover machine. And YES! Most are her fault because she's a showboat. She had to be in college but it doesn't work like that in the pros.
From the game's announcers, "Clark's team mates have to get used to the speed of Clark's court vision." "Those missed catches shouldn't be assessed as turnover for Clark." "Smith lumbers to the rim." "Mitchell! - Ring around the rosie! ...but she just couldn't finish it." "Pocket full of posies?" Even the announcers have to take the garbage out. - It appears that the Fever did zero off-season conditioning. I like Boston (really nice as a commentator for the Big 10) but she should have been working on conditioning, footwork, and her shot. Will Boston improve? I hope so, but Clark needs fast players who can catch and finish. Mitchell, not sure where her game can go... She doesn't pass, had no court vision, doesn't focus on screens or blocking out. She can't finish well. Maybe she can come off the bench as an energy player. Put in Taylor, improve the D. The Fever need more length and D on the court, Clark will break down other teams if the rest can run screens and catch and finish. WNBA Scam - let people know: They got me - I bought the WNBA pass. (turns out that access to ''all'' games also requires subscribing to ABC, ESPN, whomever they sold the game to). Had to use methstrea....
Glad I live in Iowa lol. Only blackouts are the Sky. You're absolutely right about AB. She's known for a year she'd probably be playing with Caitlin and would need to run like Hannah. She's known for certain since late February she would be playing with CC. People think W's are important and they are, BUT the new fans that are now filling these venues unlike before are here to see CC BE CC! Trust me, these new fans would rather see her be her and lose than see her stymied and win. Decades ago people showed up to see George Mikan (sp?) because they hadn't ever seen a 7' man play basketball. Hell, dunking used to be illegal in the NBA. Personally, I'd like to see the W outlaw face guarding from 25' out!

I'm confused, they lost...decisively. Is CC the only player in the W who hits 3's? Was she the high scorer for the game from both teams? Do you want her to look good shootin 3's even though her team sucks? The Fever weren't good last year and there not going to be good this year...but does that matter to anyone? Or is the thought that she can win all by herself? In all honesty, she's not going to make the fever a title contender. They have a looong way to go...I don't see the difference she's gonna make in the win column. And she's a liability on the defensive end. She has no physical advantage over anyone. But she can shoot 3's, but so can other W players...so, I'm confused, the fever still gonna be a bottom team...
@@julianp.heggieiii-medicare1877 you seem real confused cause you don’t realize how much money people are investing into Clark , millions $$$$. People with money know how to invest in valuable assets. Think about that part.
Caitlin has an extremely high basketball IQ. She was Iowa's floor general. Other players knew their roles in the offense and worked hard to fulfill them, while Caitlin directed the offense and facilitated other's scoring with her assists. If Indiana is to succeed, it needs to mirror that process.
The craziest thing happened: Clark got the ball, and she put it in the hoop. A LOT. Idk what Sides is up to, but she won't get MVP from the other teams if this keeps happening. : /
Amen!! A great sight to see. The turnovers are partly because the other players are not expecting passes from Clark as she sees the court better than anyone so her teammates need to be better prepared and make more lay ups. As I mentioned before Clark's teammates need to adjust to Clark's style of play not the other way around. Clark is the center piece of this growing team. Clark is more than willing to pass the ball, however they need to be ready
Ben! Thanks for expressing every thoought I had in my head. Sides is still taking out Caitlin and putting her in the corner for spells and her teammates are still reluctant to throw her the ball. Once she allows Caitlin to manage the floor and play the way she can, we're going to start seeing her put up big numbers and the Fever is going to start being a competitor. Great commentary!!!
Forreal! I don't understand how 12 & 7 on 50% shooting against Jonquel Jones and Brianna Stewart 2 former MVP's is bad and needs to be traded. These people's expectations are unreal because they don't understand the talent on the other side. @@quentelhill5074

Half of her turnovers were her teammates not being able to catch passes🤦🏾♂️still, being this much of a standout player while being a rookie who’s constantly double teamed is insane
@@UncaDave So CC's Iowa teammates can catch almost anything, right? Well, if that's the case, then tell me how did CC commit 639 turnovers while at Iowa? Whose fault was it? Had to be all CC's fault since her teammates catch almost anything. Thank you for admitting that.
This team has great talent, & Caitlin brings high IQ for a point guard. Give credit to all players. As you say (2;02), we saw "high post movement, we saw high-low movement . . . screens . . . pace." Excellent talent is starting to mesh. The inside talent, a little rusty, a little out of shape, will excel with Clark's inside game. + her 3s & other shooters of 3s.
The bigs for the Fever are trash. Yeah you Boston. I noticed in the first game the Bigs don’t box out, jump, or rebound. Why? And the Fevers defense is terrible. As for CC she will continue to have to carry the team. Which is going to make her even greater than the haters want her to be. On offense when CC has the ball nobody on the defense cares what the other 4 players are doing. When CC shoots the ball her teams start getting back on defense. They are not even trying to get in position for a rebound. They stand around waiting for the ball to bounce in their area. Bench Boston the former Rookie of the year. Put the Bigs that screen and cut to the basket. Oh wait. They can’t catch the ball while running to the basket. The Fever need some better players. CC needs help. Also, does it seem like teams are starting to sell out their games when CC is coming to town? I’m asking for a friend.
Boston is a having a hard time because The refs are allowing bigger players like Brionna Jones and Jonquel jones to push and shove and hack her. How dare you attack Boston and praise clark when Clark plays absolutely ZERO DEFENSE!!!
it looks pretty obvious after Sides earlier comments about Clark that she has been told to play Clark properly or else. Seriously, how can this coach and many of the WBNA players miss the big picture as badly as they have. Nobody watched, nobody cared until CC came on the scene. Charter flights, big arenas, big ticket sales. Do we have to spell it out? Now we all know who Christie Sides is, who Erica Wheeler and Aliyah Boston are and so far we don't like what we've seen.
Long time Iowa fan here- yes, if you have somebody who can score like Caitlin Clark, you design your entire offense around it. Because she’s very capable of taking over any game and it’s very entertaining to watch her do so. But- Caitlin has work to do in to get used to the differences in the WNBA. Let’s not pretend that she plays a perfect game. Never has. But she’s a fierce competitor and will shore up her faults with good coaching. Which, honestly is a question mark currently.
Just a thought they might be considering that she just played a 40 game season with heavy minutes and don’t want to get Caitlin injured from overuse. That said, it was fun watching her size her defenders up and be like “you’re too slow. Drive by. You’re not big enough. Clark for three. Double team? Who’s open? Boom.” They’ll get there playing this style, they have been playing two of the top 3 teams in the league and she’s averaging 17/6/4 against the top defenses in the league. She is going to torch regular teams and bad teams and they’ll get some wins.
I don't think she was holding back. I think the coach tried to break her down to be what SHE wanted Caitlin to be...had her standing in the back waiting for someone to pass her the ball....
2 takeaways: Adam silver and head of W in attendance today. Different player guarding Cc to make sure there’s no 40 point blowout on ABC. ALSO cc22 is now point guard and player/coach. It’s her show, sides is now a figurehead. Bank on it.
I think it was a wonderful improvement. They corrected the very next game. Good on Christie Sides however the change came about. I think it's unrealistic to think they will start out being a winning team. It is enough for me to see changes in a positive direction. I was really concerned about CC and how she looked after her 9 point game. This game there was a lot to be proud of for the whole team. Also CC 's game was a lot more well rounded, some 3's, some great layups and some around the foul line. I think that's what Sides wanted her to do listening to her conversations before. CC being guarded by 2 people almost the length of the court makes it hard to get an accurate 3 pt. shot off and if you have too many misses lots of people will come down on that and it's not fair to the rest of the team. I think the way she played this game and continues to do so she will get more space to do the 3 point shots we all love and want to see more of. I think she's proved she can handle just about anything they throw at her. You never hear her complain about how she is being treated, always positive, always upbeat. I think she is a great role model and a wonderful representative for the WNBA.
It's gonna take some time, but the second game against the Liberty definitely felt like a step in the right direction. I still suspect there will be a lot of learning, adjustments, and housecleaning, with both the coaches and the players, before the Fever can put a team on the floor to fully leverage Caitlin's talent and potential.
Yeh There is hope on the Horizon !!! Clark had the handcuffs taken off for most of the Game You could see it in her face and demeanor before the game started and during it. Someone at least heard us ! At least now we have One player performing at a pro level. Have 11 more to Go then we will at least be competitive. Will watch and wait and Hope Sides can get Clark a supporting cast now from who she has or start trading before June 20th.
While I disagree that anyone let her cook I do agree it was her best effort, but because she is finding her mojo. Still, her shooting percentages are below her Iowa numbers40% 2s vs 57% at Iowa and 28% 3s vs 38% at Iowa. She's learning how to move. The Fever has a weak roster that needs to become a team.
Good analysis, Ben. Down side, 24 defensive rebounds but only 2 fast break points? So many missed layups. Upside, real moving pieces, screens and schemes on offense! Kate got 17 shots and found her rhythm. I'm very encouraged for the Fever's 2024 season.
I think the owner of the of the Fever had a meeting with the players and coaches without Caitlin being present. It was a come to jesus meeting. I also think the owner of the Liberty had a meeting with his team. It looked like they were just letting caitlin score at will. Something was off.
They need to fire the coach. That 4th quarter was back to "corner CC" offense that they ran for no reason. Sides, Wheeler, and Wallace are awful. They don't mesh with Clark because they all dribble pointlessly or have bad play calling/ coaching. Sides has to go. It's blatantly obvious she is an incapable coach that it took her so long to figure out how to use "Clark" actually. And she needs to take the two "favorites" that she always plays with her that don't do anything: Wheeler and Wallace. Grace/ Taylor are better alongside Clark than either of those other two. They defend, pass, and actually shoot the three ball when they are open.
The Fever looked better but the Liberty took it easy on them. If they wanted they could have won by 40. The Fever has no shot blockers or a great rebounder, unless AB decides to get in shape.
Interesting view. I thought the opposite. The 2d half, Liberty kept starters in trying hard. I noticed Fever players--like Samuelson, breathing really hard at free throw line from playing hard--were going full tilt & Liberty was less able to stop them. I could be wrong, but that's what I saw as Fever won the 2d half.
The Liberty overperformed with all starters maing multpile 3's and all in duble digits, none of which are common for them. And 3 of the Fever big minutes players produced nothing, everyone bad on defense. Liberty could've easily lost this game if Sides stops catering to her 2 bddies Wallace and Wheeler.
@@brianroesch3259 like I said, they had an above average night from a shooting standpoint. in their blowout win the other day only Stewie shot over 33%. This game gave me more confidence in the Fever if anything.
they need 4 athletes on the team with her. the others are not physically strong enough ... and fast enough ... and do not have the stamina ... to play her game. it might be helpful also that they up their game by practicing layups, practicing catching passes, practicing fundamentals, etc. cc is a team player. but you need a team for her to be in for that to happen. it is not true that cc is not ready for the wnba. rather it is that the wnba, and especially her teammates, and even more especially Sides, who is not ready for her. Sides described cc as a 'problem', yet cc scored or assisted in half of their points! that is a 'problem'? there is a problem that this team has that is the reason that this team got the opportunity to draft cc. (hint: they have been dead for a long time.) cc had 8 assists in 34 minutes of playing time. boston, samuelson, mitchel, and smith COMBINED had 8 assists in 115 minutes of playing time. ... and cc is the 'problem'? cc's fgm%, 2-pt fgm%, 3-pt fgm% are all higher than anybody else on the team. if she had taken as many shots as maravich did on average or as many as cc did on average having team-fun with iowa, they would have won the game. they need to root out the cancer. and the cancer is not cc.
Caitlin played well I'm happy she finally played an efficient game offensively. 8 turnovers again is wild tho. But the whole team needs play defense better. And Caitlin teammates needs be more efficient and they will win games. But I'm impressed with Caitlins game 3.

I agree CC has to be used to her strengths. She’s not the most athletic, or the biggest player on the court. She does what she does and you have to let her be her to succeed
With a good coach, lowa only need 1 5-star player Caitlin Clark to win Big Ten Championship back-to back-to back.. And to the national finals two years in a row. Imagine if lowa has 2 or more 5-star players.
Finally the RIGHT 5 started the game! It’s what we were begging for! I like the French girl Fagbenle too at times! Hey the veterans do all that bad stuff too in guard positions! Watch other teams! But yes this was best lineup and pace that was Clark’s wish!!! Her game!!! The fan base cane down on that coach bad!!!!!! Wheeler is just bad and should be 3rd string! I like the other 3 guards way better!! Boston played better too! Phenomenal 1st quarter! Agree with you 💯 dude!!! I like Samuelson too!!!! I also think the NY team was behaving better on Clark too because the commissioner was there watching! No full court press harassment on Clark whole game by this evil NY haters either! Just a regular game like any other!!!
I believe I may have the reason behind Boston and Sides issues. Boston was a first pick and played good enough to get rookie of the year the team even improved. I'm guessing she either believed or was told going forward the team would be built around her unfortunately the team still did poorly, and Boston realized or was told Clark was going to be picked up and realizing she would no longer be #1 this deflated her. She came in out of shape and is playing lethargically. This may explain some of the decisions Sides has made still pushing for Boston. Another issue is Wheeler. Having seen some clips of her interactions with Clark you can tell she's bitter and knows she's being replaced no longer the lead. This is where a coach needs to coach. Wheeler needs to be bounced from the team she's ineffective. Boston needs to be sat down told to get into shape and if she wants to be perceived as a force in the WNBA she needs to fight for it. This is one of the differences between male and female coaches' male coaches don't give a shit about your feelings get better or sit down.
The Fever had the worst record in the wNBA last year. Lost 27 of 40 games. Had an eight game losing streak. It’s unreasonable (delusional) to believe one new player is going to miraculously transform that roster into a winning team, much less a playoff contender, much less a championship assembly. The CC psychophantic fanatics are setting themselves up for heartbreaking disappointment. That video of CC looking back over her shoulder and running full speed headlong into a motionless Liberty player and collapsing to her knees in stunned surprise is a picture of CC fans at the end of the regular season or probably sooner. That’s not a slam against CC. She is making the maximum effort. That is one reason why CC’ TO’s are so high. She playing harder, not smarter. It’s going to take a little time, but the Fever will coalesce as a team, gradually as the season progresses. Adopt a wNBA veteran for only $18.99 a month.
The rest of this team is very slow and can,t catch and finish I believe major personnel changes are needed, anew style of play is going to happen and these players better get with the program or get out
Caitlin needs to run the offense. Wheeler, Mitchell, and that white girl need to figure out how to be support players. Learn how to set real screens, off ball movement, get open for the passes that will come. Iowa gals figured this out and they all got fed.
So true they need to play her game . The WNBA players need to understand the newbies . The same for the Sky players accept it and move on for the other players , if they want to win as well. Play the players for what they are in there positions . 😮
that HIT was to send a message ,, WE don't need the seats filled... GO AWAY..--- I SAY ---. YOU GO GIRL,, CC brings the FANS... GET OVER IT, or she can leave...and her fans will go with HER.. kinda LIKE TAYLOR SWIFT
What do you mean Boston not carrying her weight? She is the only legit post the Fever have to put up any kind of challenge to likes of Jonquel and Brionna Jones. Yes she is rusty, she finally took some time off this season for her life. But she is starting to shake the rust off.
Ben, did you watch the postgame interview of CC and the UNUSUALLY ODD question that was asked of her RE gambling. "You guys profiles are growing at a time where gambling and betting are getting more prevalent....". That question, while may seem odd, probably has some context to it as to why that reporter asked her that. Of course he's not accusing CC of gambling but I think there's a reason behind it. WNBA players don't get paid that much. The idea of game fixing may cross one's mind. The 1st game between the Liberty and the Fever had CC scoring 20.5 points I think. What did she end up with? 9? Who has control over that? Who can have direct influence on CC's output? Imagine her getting only 8 attempts during that game. The liberty's defense was tough but that wasn't the only thing. How many times did she get frustrated when the ball wasn't passed to her when it was clear as day that the play was for her to end up with the ball?
Fever need to look at Jenny Boucek who is an assistant coach NBA with the Indiana Pacers. She has been a Head Coach in the WNBA twice and she is in their backyard. Pacers gotta get through the playoffs. If I was the Fever Owner and GM I would be throwing money at that offer. Sides is the wrong coach will little experience and her first time being a head Coach these two losing seasons. Sides is not it.
I'm beginning to think Caitlin and her Iowa teammates are a better team than the Fever!

she did not take any bad shots. She did not dribble to much. Turnovers are not all her fault. She was responsible for 40 total points.
@TheBenDanielPodcast
Many of you are still missing the point:
They still lost by more than 10 but you act like this was a win -
They need to be a better TEAM (not find ways to feature caitlin) - She's not that good on defense and she may never be.
She's not Candace Parker - who can give you 10 or more boards and can play all 5 positions - Aja and Stewart are like that too..... not Caitlin though - they need better defense to beat these top teams ... which is why focusing on Clark is not the issue:
They need to engage really good athletes on their team: Victoria Saxton, Boston, Mitchell... and yes Clark.
Saxton only played a few minutes - but shes a good defender. The Fever need to take advantage of that and engage Saxton.
They need to start ON DEFENSE with really tight tough D, then turn steals and turnovers, blocks into fast breaks -
The logo 3s are a distraction - Clarks' best asset here is that she's super quick and a great passer on the fast break - plus her shooting should create space for the half court sets and pick n roll etc.
THey need to utlize their better athletes to have a decent or good defense but they won't have it if all you guys and the coaches think about is "How can we make sure Caitlin has great games"
Iowa couldn't win the National Title playing their style - all that did was make Clark a superstar... but this isn't the NCAA - and even then IOWA couldn't even win the NCAA
So why try to make the fever "Like IOwa"?
All that does is feed the crowd/ the uneducated/ casual fan masses who just wanna see caitlin get on the board. That's not the formula for winning when you have rosters in the WNBA that are COMPLETE and well rounded.
the point is "How do we WIN These games" not "how do we satisfy the millions of Clark fans"?
😂😂😂stop it
Just remember:
If you all are craving those games when she scored 40 back in college:
Rememeber.....
The percentage will be ALOT lower if she keeps trying to force shots against good, tall, athletic defenders in the WNBA
Even steph curry has terrible shooting nights... and he's 6 ft 3.
She's a thin little model like 6 ft tall (skinny/ scrawny) .... and that's why many of you like her so much
Being part of the "I wanna smash with Clark " fan club does not make you basketball analysts.
But that doesn't maker her the top basketball player.
We saw in the college championships why she's not the best most important player - if you had a draft of all WNBA players caitlin might be chosen 1st but it's not because of basketball:
IT would be because she helps her team and all other teams make so much more money.
But it s not bc of basketball talent solely. SHe's not Parker, Stewie, Aja WIlson.... she doesn't have that ability
"Talll Skill will always beat Small skilled.... You can't grow enough to guard me"
- Kevin McHale
Caitlin could never guard those elite athletic bigs.

"Those missed catches shouldn't be assessed as turnover for Clark."
"Smith lumbers to the rim."
"Mitchell! - Ring around the rosie! ...but she just couldn't finish it."
"Pocket full of posies?"
Even the announcers have to take the garbage out.

Future Failure - The race-colored-glasses wearing Hive mind is incapable of basic logic which leads to self-sabotage and failure which will only lead to blame and then more failure and then more blame.
REAL Culture is the Foundation - In all of this noise, too few have recognized that the entire Clark phenomena has been " about " Iowa - the state, the school, and the culture.
Iowa has the deepest history of supporting women's basketball and the most loyal college fan base in the country. It's not even close. Iowans were supporting girls basketball tournaments with the same passion as boys back when it was 6 vs 6. Of course, in a culture where girls are never taught that they can't do anything a girl - with an average basketball body - would grow up believing that she can do anything and doing just that - setting every major record for the regular season, and the tournament, and taking the least-starred team the farthest, 2 years in a row, did anyone has ever done.
The Iowa fans, like their coaches, exhibit the most enduring loyalty, win or lose. Iowa fans only expect two things, great effort, and loyalty. Also Iowa fans extend a warm ham of support to people of all backgrounds who would join their team or even engage them in good sportsmanship. This is why players, of all backgrounds, we'll save for the rest of their life that they feel like Iowa is their second home.
Clark had the courage to buck the Monopoly talent pipeline and to remain with those who had built her up. These millions of Iowans then caused such a rise in ticket sales and viewership that Clark became a national phenomenon in college. Her Iowa buoyed popularity became a positive viral affect where non Iowans learned about Clark's unparalleled talent and good character. Now Clark has brought all of these fans with her to the WNBA, well, to the Fever.
Courage us the Key- Every previous great player had the choice to try and build her own Legend at a unique school. They were just kids, so we let them off the hook, but their parents and mentors failed to see the obvious - just as it is with the night sky, a new star cannot be stabd out if it is behind a whole group of stars.
If Paige Becker's had instead gone to Minnesota she would have built her Legend as big as Clark's with her talent buoyed on the support of millions of Minnesotan fans. Now they don't care about her because she didn't care that much about them. Instead she went to exhibit A: Ucon which has been killing the wbb competitiveness for years and only developed a small (yet rabid) fan base - failing to even transfer enough fans to the wnba, for all of their top players, to even sell out the same state Connecticut Sun or any other team with UCon players.
A'ja Wilson had the same choice - to take the risk of building her own legend or to join a one of the few talent Monopoly front-runners. She made her choice and now has the results if that choice
They all have. No one is inspired buy a player who signs up for sure trophies. People are inspired by unexpected underdogs who develop organically with a loyal team and do something both unique amazing. This is extremely rare and difficult to do, but Clark had the courage to try and do it, that most of all separates both her off the car and on the court choices.
College is the WNBA Driver- if basketball players fail to develop a following in college, then they will fail to have a fan base and therefor fail to have market traction because the WNBA is not a positive part of the zeitgeist.
Self-fulfilling Tragedy- today we have far too many people who mistake Manufactured Culture for real and Organic Culture. Instead of benefiting from being within a United States where people can look towards other states and learn from their strengths, and in this example learning from the great loyalty of Iowans, people are being led by the nose of a fake culture media machine that actually degrades them and then tells them that they can't learn from Iowans because Iowans are "too white!"
People have a choice, whether or not they see it, whether or not they use it.
@@bobboyoop1141 they don't need to ban face guarding, they just need to enforce the rules that are on the book which would mean nobody checking and hard and checking, so if a player wants to be in Clark's face they're going to have to backpedal and sidestep fast enough to do so without slamming into her, that's going to be impossible to do and the same way as we are now seeing with the application of hockey rules.

The Fever have no idea how to use CC. Why did they dtaft her? CC has to be herself. Lisa Bluder knows CC, i would call her asap.
A Star is born ✨
it looks pretty obvious after Sides earlier comments about Clark that she has been told to play Clark properly or else.
I think the owners talked to that coach. We'll see.
Support Riley Gaines and women's sports!
I knew she was kind of holding back a little to feel the team out.
Bank on it.
Yes! I think it’s clear that CC is calling the plays and not the coach.
@@MrsTruthTeller which is for the best.
I think it was a wonderful improvement. They corrected the very next game. Good on
Christie Sides however the change came about. I think it's unrealistic to think they will
start out being a winning team. It is enough for me to see changes in a positive
direction. I was really concerned about CC and how she looked after her 9 point game.
This game there was a lot to be proud of for the whole team. Also CC 's game was a lot
more well rounded, some 3's, some great layups and some around the foul line. I think
that's what Sides wanted her to do listening to her conversations before. CC being
guarded by 2 people almost the length of the court makes it hard to get an accurate 3 pt.
shot off and if you have too many misses lots of people will come down on that and it's
not fair to the rest of the team. I think the way she played this game and continues to do
so she will get more space to do the 3 point shots we all love and want to see more of.
I think she's proved she can handle just about anything they throw at her. You never hear
her complain about how she is being treated, always positive, always upbeat. I think she
is a great role model and a wonderful representative for the WNBA.
Hey dude you are so damm right and you need to be there head coach. Fire Sides she is a joke ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Amen.
Catlin is the awesome has wisdom and knowledge of life and game
Yeh There is hope on the Horizon !!! Clark had the handcuffs taken off for most of the Game You could see it in her face and demeanor before the game started and during it. Someone at least heard us ! At least now we have One player performing at a pro level. Have 11 more to Go then we will at least be competitive. Will watch and wait and Hope Sides can get Clark a supporting cast now from who she has or start trading before June 20th.
They all have to practice layups.... some of them go up tọo strong bangs off the glass. Fundamental
I heard that! “…slumbers to the rim”! Bet that announcer gets a talking to! 😂🤣😜
did you hear her say " Boston tried to rebound but she had a donut in her left hand so she couldnt corral the ball "??
While I disagree that anyone let her cook I do agree it was her best effort, but because she is finding her mojo.
Still, her shooting percentages are below her Iowa numbers40% 2s vs 57% at Iowa and 28% 3s vs 38% at Iowa.
She's learning how to move. The Fever has a weak roster that needs to become a team.
true that
Good analysis, Ben. Down side, 24 defensive rebounds but only 2 fast break points? So many missed layups. Upside, real moving pieces, screens and schemes on offense! Kate got 17 shots and found her rhythm. I'm very encouraged for the Fever's 2024 season.
It's only one game guys remember 😂
I think the owner of the of the Fever had a meeting with the players and coaches without Caitlin being present. It was a come to jesus meeting. I also think the owner of the Liberty had a meeting with his team. It looked like they were just letting caitlin score at will. Something was off.
Yea , your a real bright bulb for sure, maybe a detective.
BS. Those were tough shots she was making. The same ones that weren’t going in last game.
@@RW-gx6ml why did they not guard her like the last game they played her? What’s your take?
@@TaiyouArt rolled them for 40 two days ago! Any explanation instead of you being a smartass? Enlighten me, Einstein.
@@RW-gx6ml i am a huge CC fan!! I love watching her.
CC rocked!❤️
@@_M.... Against the Fever, the Liberty made 15 3's, only 3 short of the WNBA record, according to another video.
@@brianroesch3259 like I said, they had an above average night from a shooting standpoint. in their blowout win the other day only Stewie shot over 33%. This game gave me more confidence in the Fever if anything.
What adjustment period? The WNBA is the amateur league, CC when allowed to play her game is a pro among wannabe pros!
they need 4 athletes on the team with her. the others are not physically strong enough ... and fast enough ... and do not have the stamina ... to play her game. it might be helpful also that they up their game by practicing layups, practicing catching passes, practicing fundamentals, etc. cc is a team player. but you need a team for her to be in for that to happen. it is not true that cc is not ready for the wnba. rather it is that the wnba, and especially her teammates, and even more especially Sides, who is not ready for her.
CC showed she was the Greet White Hype.
The coach job is on the line:
Caitlin played well I'm happy she finally played an efficient game offensively. 8 turnovers again is wild tho. But the whole team needs play defense better. And Caitlin teammates needs be more efficient and they will win games. But I'm impressed with Caitlins game 3.
Game 1 - 13 uncalled fouls against Clark.
Game 2 -16 plays Clark frozen out with no touch, sat a whole quarter.
Every game - Clark face guarded and double-teamed like it's game 7, opponents screaming if they get a stop as if OT in the finals
Final four '24- rabid Ucon fans bomb Iowa with death threats
Final four '23 -"Coach of the Year" Dawn Staley says "We're not monkeys" to coach Lisa Bluder who coached the the least-starred team to reach the highest level with the highest efficiency offense; who never did or would say such a thing; Andrew just beats Staley with better coaching.
Finals '23 - South Carolina players viral to LSU players Dawn Staley's framing that "Iowa is racist", they themselves then acting with the same bigotry towards Clark that Tiger Woods faced nearly 30 years ago.
'23-'24 - The difference today: instead of nearly all of the public overwhelmingly rallying behind Clark, the way they did behind Tiger Woods, a huge faction is jumping on the "everything is about race" dei brainwashed cult bandwagon.
People have a choice, whether or not they see it, whether or not they use it.
you have a talent for Eng Composition Im jealous

I totally agree with Ben and everyone else in the comment column.
She didn't, the ref helped her get there. West Virginia and Connecticut were screwed by terrible calls

We need to get Clark on the Aces problem solved.
the aces don't need her though, it would screw up their chemistry. And Caitlyn Clark taking so many shots would piss off the other players likely.
Delulu 😂
Are you people actually celebrating a loss? Again 😂😂😂😂
No brains no headaches right. I bet you've never had a headache.
She should have had a lot more assist if players around her could catch her pass and fishing their lay up....
The haters WILL get over it. 😎
Now if we can just get Temi to make a fkn layup, we’ll be aight
She went 4-8 and missed at least 3 if not 4 easy layups , she easily could have been 8-8 w/ 16 pts
So true they need to play her game . The WNBA players need to understand the newbies . The same for the Sky players accept it and move on for the other players , if they want to win as well. Play the players for what they are in there positions . 😮
It is not basketball. It is bashket ball. After watching WNBA games people will go back to not watching WNBA again.
that HIT was to send a message ,, WE don't need the seats filled... GO AWAY..--- I SAY ---. YOU GO GIRL,, CC brings the FANS... GET OVER IT, or she can leave...and her fans will go with HER.. kinda LIKE TAYLOR SWIFT
Long as she was at 1.
Finally indeed! Now the previous #1 and ROTY Boston gotta carry her own weight and make The Fever a playoffs team!
What do you mean Boston not carrying her weight? She is the only legit post the Fever have to put up any kind of challenge to likes of Jonquel and Brionna Jones. Yes she is rusty, she finally took some time off this season for her life. But she is starting to shake the rust off.
watch that game again and tell me who did she score most of her points on?
They need a new center who can run and also, bring Gaby her Iowa teammates!
Monday against Connecticut back to reality another loss
Let her play coach
Yes but they still lost
Turnovers are the player’s fault because of low skills
Fever need to look at Jenny Boucek who is an assistant coach NBA with the Indiana Pacers. She has been a Head Coach in the WNBA twice and she is in their backyard. Pacers gotta get through the playoffs. If I was the Fever Owner and GM I would be throwing money at that offer. Sides is the wrong coach will little experience and her first time being a head Coach these two losing seasons. Sides is not it.
I don’t know if there is a WNBA salary cap on Coaches so likely they can’t afford her. But the whole state is invested at this point.
Was it a fluke or is the coach waking up? PS: are trades a thing in the WNBA, because wow, the Fever has no size and not much else going for them.
This video sucks. Not one moment of actual action on the court !!’
