Thanks for posting :) This was a stunning performance - the fluidity of movement and synchronicity was breathtaking, they really told the story of the rhumba (the dance of love) not just skated a routine. I was heartbroken that they didn't win gold again - the only couple to truly dance on ice, not just skate for points. Everything they did was perfection and a joy to watch - shame on the judges for the political scoring....
They have such a personal and synchronised relationship on the ice. The look they give each other before each dance a little smile then its 'donw to business' and serious. I was trying to learn to ice dance one day, buying my own skates and skating three times a week. Sadly i fell and bashed my head badly destroying my confidence 😟 But I have Jayne and Chris to watch, they were my inspiration anyway!😅 The best the world will ever see!!
Пара потрясающая, на 0:50 "пистолетик" партнёра очень красивый. 1:14 очень красивые движения. Главное, что мне не скучно на них смотреть, я как будто книгу интересную читаю.
Still the best! (No matter what the trolls say whenever I post something like this: Just take a look at their overall body of work, their range of choreography, being so far ahead of their time, etc., etc. -- There are two 'current' ice-dance duos that I like and look forward seeing development of both, but they still haven't the uniqueness and quality of T/D.)
Agree with you.... they simply the Best in the World.. even the Russia have to take the back seat & admit they are beaten by the Maestro kind & queen on ice... Torvill& Dean
this is what they need to bring back to ice dance now and make them actualy 'dance' on the ice instead of all the arw waving and lifting it has become.
The reason that they didn't win was because the judges didn't like that they came back from being pros. That was made very plainly. They changed the rules because of Torvill and Dean so there would be no more "original" dance, just twizzles.
They weren't the only pro skaters who came back. Gordeeva and Grinkov returned after turning pro and they won gold. I believe they were the only only ones who did, though. If anyone should have been "blamed" for the comeback of the pro skaters, it should have been Brian Boitano, who lobbied for the return of pro staters to amateur status to permit them to participate in the Olympics again.
@@bophreyhumgart2953 I think in the pairs they were so far ahead of the rest they had no choice. I do think in general the judges had an anti reinstatee mindset, and unless you blew the others away you would lose. Boitano is an example too as he fell in his short program but that was only a .5 deduction max and got a 4.8 for required elements from one judge. Witt did a simple triple toe-double toe combo but still the 4.9 from the US judge was pretty harsh. In general there wasn't a lot of enthusiam about the reinstated pros. Again the pairs the 2 coming back were so far superior to others they had no choice. Even there Miskutienok & Dmitriev's amazing performance, that some say should have won over Gordeeva & Grinkov who didn't have their best skate, had 2 judges score them behind Brasseur & Eisler. So yeah.

Beautifullly put. Better than I could have written it. Thank you!
Even after 15 years, no one has come close to this OD!
There's smiles in the audience. :) They will forever own ice dance.
Это так пластично и синхронно, настоящий танец, браво!
Thank you so much for posting this video! Pure poetry on ice! Aaaaah!

This could very well be a gold medal performance even today.
Конечно, Пахомова и Горшков незабываемая пара! Но, на мой взгляд, до этих далеко всем!!!
Magnifique

Finally realized that ice is the best surface for dancing. If you have their balance and strength.
Perfection at its highest..
Real mente maravilloso
The best
No words, amazing.
Well they were marked first in this dance atleast. Almost every judge had them first in this particular dance.
They should have won! They skated better then the Russian skaters and their performances were flawless. 💝 JT and CD 💝
