The answer is for play or leela. The name of the game is to find who you are. Infinite consciousness creates the energy field called Maya and manifests itself into two halves yin and yang along with all paraphernalia. They are separated longing to find each other inspite of all the hurdles again created for a bit of thrill. When United the big bang theory reversals. The entire game being a circle and not linear. Represented by the symbol of Nataraja.

    • @samjones3334

This is interesting, the idea of creating apparent separation and then longing know itself again. I believe there is an alternative big bang theory called the big bounce where the process repeats itself

In th coming deccades, Oxford will have to add a new course to its curriculum titled "The Logic of Non-Duality". This is not a joke. A new class of logic will arise from the talks of those who are directly in touch with the Self, this post being a perfect example of this kind of talk (Satsang). Logic from the perspective of the Absolute. As I always say, Rupert is a gem. Thanks for the post. Appreciated. I also want to remark that it may take Oxford deccades to catch up with this as I remember the video in wh,ch Rupert says "I wonder what they teach at Oxford". That was amazing to watch and listen.

Imagine you are an immortal pool of potential energy. You are at peace and blissful but it's endless existence. Suddenly you realize that you can create, split, differentiate between this and that. You simply start to play with it, because why not? You are blissful, you are boundless, you start to create simply because you can. Over time the creation becomes very complex.
Imagine that you are forever stuck in a prison cell. It's an empty room with bed, shower and a toilet. You are provided food every day but other than that it's just you and an empty room. If you would somehow receive a guitar for example, you would start to play with it and over time create more and more complex music. Why? Simply because you had nothing better to do and you had tons of free time.

Yoo Rupert you always on point. So I’ve learned how to think while I sleep. Like if I have something I want to think about, sometimes I can still follow that train of thought and consciously ponder it while asleep. I can’t really explain it well yet. But either way I was basically contemplating manifestation and how Awareness doesn’t actually create anything because everything is Awareness/consciousness and it’s eternal , so the seeming creation of anything would simply be the awareness of a perspective that already exists and the stuff that already exist as part of that perspective. But I kept waking up every time I tried to think about WHY awareness does this, I couldn’t really figure it out. So I pulled up this video and within the first 43 seconds you literally addressed this and said it can’t be answered , it’s the wrong question to ask.. thank you. Going back to finish the video now.

The why question can & has been answered in the past. And it's very simple. Its in the definition of the substrate.
If the substrate was inert or dead stuff, it wouldn't bring forth anything and there wouldn't be any manifestation. But because the substrate is conscious, it "HAS TO" stir at some point. Because if it didn't, that would be dead stuff - won't it? And why would we call a dead or inert substrate conscious?
And once it stirs, it sets in motion everything else.

A Course in Miracles provides a metaphysics that is helpful. It is that we are caught in the "bad dream" of separation created by projection of fear, the "tiny mad idea" of polarity. Waking up to the Oneness that is all that is, the I Am that Rupert points to, and the bad dream fades away just as a nightmare disappears as one awakes, sits up and with great relief realizes "it was just a dream!"

The question "why" happens within space-time. Any attempt to answer this question will be a fall through a bottomless pit. Transcending space-time by just being aware is the way to eliminate the why. eg: A person with high fever gets delirious and asks why is the table flying, all we need to do is to give him a paracetamol. Questions too will subside along with the fever.

      @scottsmith4622 Před 8 lety +3

Awareness as Being is totally receptive, so questions would not arise. I agree. But Awareness as Doing is active and asks questions aplenty.
Yes, Awareness without objects is a reality, but not the only one. I think that our communication problem stems from our different foundational beliefs. To me, our space-time lives are as real as our Eternal existence. Both relies upon and informs the other. It is a necessary symbiotic relationship. Different perceptions/poles of the same Reality. We are One and we are Many at once. Our lives are not an accident or mistake, although we can grow to be more - wiser and more enlightened.
I do not come to this conclusion out of naivety or ignorance. I once espoused absolute non-dualism, but my direct experiences have led me to another view of Reality.
Oh well, I guess we are both going to find out one way or another....

This is so excellent. I used to object to this thing about infinity not being able to contain anything finite. Yet in listening to this, it reminds me of an experience I had of being taken for a journey (by an orb, believe it or not) and shown, via flying above scenes in my own life, how completely pure Truth, real truth is.
Even 1% impurity, and it's no longer Truth. Even an impure motive for telling 100% accurate facts and it's not Truth. It's rather akin to the difference between love, as we know it in 3D, and divine Love - they are nothing alike.
Love his explanation of the uselessness of the why questions, too. I knew they were worthless - relative to awakening - but this was elegantly explained. Great vid!

The Question, "Am I aware" is asked in duality, we "go" to nonduality for the answer or seeming experience, then duality returns with an answer. It "seems" like there is a form of communication or passing of information/experience from nonduality to duality that "I am aware". Of course that cannot be as there is just consciousness/awareness only the whole time. Communication require 2 seperate things to communicate with each other, duality.

We are the infinite consciousness, and our finite mind keeps us from realizing that we are the infinite consciousness, right? So what or who creates our finite mind? If the infinite consciousness also creates our finite mind, then why does the consciousness create us to prevent us from knowing that we are the consciousness?

So reproducing and/or creating life is an act of love????? I love this statement however there is so much horror in the world that it is difficult to swallow this statement.............what about the child born into a place where there is no food and only starvation???? Is it "out of love" to create a life in these circumstances???? So much suffering - a baby zebra just born and snatched up by a lion - yes I know - food...........but brutal and heart breaking non-the-less.........it sometimes seems to me that there is too much suffering, pain, sadness in the world to speak of "love" being behind all manifestation..............

This is a complex question/issue isn't it. I sometimes wonder if there could be other beings outside of this infinite God. I know this seems a paradoxical idea, but my understanding hasn't yet revealed it to be an impossibility.
Many years ago I had a drug induced experience where I saw the introduction of an outside element to consciousness which resulted in the manifestation we now experience. It seemed like a meeting of lovers that changed them both forever.
Perhaps I saw it this way because of my understanding or lack of understanding at the time. Who knows. But the whole thing is so fascinating

But how could there be someone separate from infinity? There can only be unity in this concept. Everything exists inside of it. But funny you say two lovers, because I have a feeling light itself and consciousness are entangled somehow. Not necessarily being two separate beings, but as the fundamental creative principle for duality.

Yogananda said, do not ask why there is a manifestation, ask how? He may have been getting at the same thing Rupert is getting at here. All God had to do was set manifestation in motion through one cosmic primordial action. The Word, as it were. Just one instance of distinction, of a differentiation, however closely joined to its source. The rest was a matter of free will.

Why is there manifestation ? Manifestation is (apparent) suffering, so why is there suffering ? Because we fell asleep. I don't know why we fell asleep though but I assume it wasn't a conscious effort. All of "manifestation" is only a dream in consciousness so "manifestation" isn't really real. And therefore nothing can really be said about it in my opinion. Which "truth" can be said about a dream from within the dream ?

As you identify with infinite consciousness you experience it's faith.
As you identify with your body you experience its outcome.
As you identify with your mind, you experience its outcome.
    Etc
As you identify with a car you experience its outcome
Your car gets bumped becomes i got bumped.
But what happens when no identification is made?
It would seem that no reflexion is happening. No mirror. No image.
    No time. No space.
    No awareness of anything.
So instantaneously, the next moment happens.
And after 10 days of meditation the meditator is unaware that any time has passed.

@@mo2119 My feeling or sense of what infinity is, is all inclusive. So everything we ever perceive as finite is just a fragment of the infinite. So each of our seemingly separate finite lives are actually parts of one infinite whole. It's a slippery concept. I do not see how anything could exist outside of the infinite. Unless I am defining infinite wrong, nothing could. So infinite HAS to contain EVERYTHING because if it doesn't contain even one thing, it is not infinite, it is suddenly limited and finite. So then it is 2 finite things. But it is also about perspective, because if those 2 finite things exist inside one other "thing" that thing is infinite. It is a never-ending thought puzzle

    • @mo2119
      @mo2119 Před 3 lety +2

@@Daniel-hz7tk thx for that, very interesting. Most philosophers talk about a singular source of infinity, but I’m wondering if it even had a beginning where it was actually whole without objects or any finiteness at all. Just itself in some mystical non-dual experience. I guess I gotta wait and see 🤷‍♂️

    Theoretical questions are cunning diversions.
An effectual response to such a question reveals what is being concealed
by the mind's theoretical question, and places the REAL LIFE question
directly into the lap of the questioner.
Therefore, regarding the theoretical question presented by this gentleman:
"Why would Infinite Consciousness choose to overlook its infinity to manifest as an illusion?...
"Why does it want to do such a thing?"
    I would offer this response:
"Well, you are Infinite Consciousness. Why are YOU choosing to overlook your infinity and manifest
as a finite self within a finite world?"
THAT response requires the questioner to look squarely at what is actually happening here and now,
in his very own being, because - in fact - that's WHERE Infinite Consciousness IS being and manifesting
The mind will give NO answer to that question, and it will cease to ask any other.
It falls completely silent when its coverup operations are revealed.
And in those moments, little by little, we discover that WE, Infinite Consciousness, have been
CHOOSING to be asleep to our infinite nature, CHOOSING to let the mind perform its undercover
operations, CHOOSING to pretend we are autonomous, finite persons - and, at some point,
(thank God!) CHOOSING not to do that any more.

    • @mo2119
      @mo2119 Před 3 lety

That’s sounds plausible to me. Like the unmanifest is equivalent to the subconscious. It comes into being from a spontaneous urge or how he beautifully put it as for no reason at all, like when a woman gets the urge to have a baby. An overflowing of “love”. Of creative potentiality.
