    This kit is nice because it was a Monogram kit. If you want to get a really nice view of a real Catalina make a trip to the Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola,Fla. they have a completely restored fuselage that’s completely cut away. There’s no detail that’s missed. You’ll be amazed,and it’s sitting next to another Catalina with the wings on it,and all inside the museum.

    That was worth the wait to watch.
    I remember you telling me about it.
    It's not the mistakes we make, just like in life, it's how we recover from them.
    Nothing is permanent in model building.
    We can fix all of them.
    2 ft. of wingspan, huh?
    1st time I saw this kit a Buddy and myself unboxed one in a Nissan/Dodge something or other.
    For those that don't know, this kit box is bigger than an extra large pizza box.
    We wound up getting out of the car with parts and sprue trees all over the place.
    Modeling at its finest.
    You did a good job on it Hoss.
    You don't see many built.
    What's next?

      Thanks ut did turn out great! Up next is some 2023 tamiya kits that I as a modeler haven't gotten too and I finally can. So I'm building the ME 262 with the Kettenkraftrad as a diorama. So you'll see the diorama segmented out with the different parts bits and figures. I hope you enjoy those too! Model on!!

    As someone earlier mentioned, There is only one 1/48 scale Catalina and it was originally produced by Monogram and has since been released a half dozen times or so by Revell (once in a Pro Modeler release). It also seems to have been released by Hasegawa although I have never seen the Hasegawa release in person. So any After Market items made for a Revell, Pro Modeler, Monogram or Hasegawa Catalina should work on any of the others as they are all the same kit.

The kits been released in several schemes over the yrs even a promodeler black cat version. So you will see the kit with a Monogram, Promodeler and the revell label but its all the same mold.

  • @CavemanGaming
    @CavemanGaming Před 4 měsíci +2

    Enjoyed the build, but I have a suggestion. Slow down. The reason your wheel wells did not stay in place is because of the paint on them. You had white paint on the mounting surface and green paint on the interior. You need to sand that away so the extra thin cement can get in there and "melt" the plastic together. If there is paint present all you are doing is gluing paint to paint. Just take your time, there is no rush.

    • @scaleresurrectionmodeler7379
      @scaleresurrectionmodeler7379  Před 4 měsíci

      Actually the shape of these wheel wells untouched at a couple points. I didn't quite have time to actually explain that in the video. As there were only 3 points the plastic actually touched wich os why I suggested epoxy as the epoxy would fill in that gap and be rock solid. But yes on any other surface I usually just scrape it off with a tothpic

The Monogram original tooling of the PBY and PBY-5A range is the only one out there. The Hasegawa was a Revell/Monogram rebox so the PE will fit all of them, unless of course you try to fit the undercarriage upgrade to a PBY lol.
