It is remarkable how good she still sounds. It is not just her great voice it is also the amount of emotion she puts into her singing. She is very emotionally expressive and that ain't no BS. They brought out the best in each other.

I would love to sing a duet with Strisand. It's hard to believe that she had problems with stage fright. But as a singer myself having always been comfortable performing for large audiences I'm a perfectionist also and would feel a sickening feeling from the fear of failure. Some nervousness can add energy to a performance. You just have to know how to control it and Barbara Strisand is a master of that, thank God.

Nobody EVER sang a line like Streisand! I actually had the privilege to play on one of Streisand's albums back in 1973.
Her voice is ageless and timeless. Smooth like velvet, warm like a desert stone, and clear like crystal, and she still holds her notes effortlessly and flawlessly. Best female voice in the world.

How many songs today give you chills when you listen to them? None! This performance was the epitome of talent. Barbara's voice is as clean and crisp as it was the day she sang her first note and Michael has come a long way with his rich mesmerizing voice. This was a great performance and I can't wait for the album to be released..

This is such a beautiful performance from both artists. I don't think anyone else could sing or interpret classic standards better than Barbra. Out of the two duets songs I heard from this album, this performance is definitely a superior one (both artists' timing is excellent here). On the other hand, "New York State of Mind", a duet with Billy Joel is a different story altogether. It's a beautiful arrangement by Bill Ross. Billy Joel's voice is absolutely in top form. But BJ's voice and the strings-laden orchestra completely drown Barbra's waning top notes and you can hardly hear her voice after the key changes in the second part of the song. But no matter what, she still continues to dazzle me after all these years of being her devoted fan!

Streisand has long been (rightly) appreciated and lauded for her vituoso instrument and her flawless singing of show songs and the original pop music of her youth/prime which she certainly excelled at, winning a tremendous(ly devout) following... and hasn't her voice quality and tonal production held up over the years... very impressive... still... Ms. Streisand has never really been considered a great interpreter of the American Song Book/Standards by jazz critics nor those that ardently follow that musical genre/groupings of genres... and yet... this particular partnering with Michael Buble (whose clearly in HIS element) does sound very promising...

I agree. Did u notice at theend, neither of them tried to outshine the other vocally. That was impressive to me. An example, I love listening to Julio Iglecious (sp?) sing 'When You Tell Me That You Love Me', but wish he would have sang it alone; instead, sang it with Dolly Parton (& other female singers) & she OVERPOWERS him throughout the entire song, drowning out his incredible romantic voice, when it could have been magnificent. Plus like Barbra, Julio sings 'with feeling'. Not many singers do anymore or ever did really. Barbra & Michael are 'perfect' together. Her vocals are still so smooth! Amazing! Blessings to you, L :)

I remember watching Michael singing directly into his computer and posting on CZcams. I knew then that he just had to be great someday soon. Look at him now, singing with the great Barbra Streisand and she asked him in for the session! He mentions her ability to tell a story. I think all great singers have the ability to make us believe those stories!
Listening to her opening this song was heaven because she still had that pure, gorgeous vocal like it was 30 years ago, only more enriched with experience and genius from a master class.

In my mind, her voice is like velvet
Her voice is amazing, it is powerful yet warm soft sensitive. Her song The Words the emotion feeling the passion all expressed for the world to enjoy. She may have had these words captain in her heart wanting to explode outside to be expressed period and once you finally sings the song for everyone building pressure of emotion feelings finally free to be enjoyed by others.
