Thanks for watching today! I know it might've seemed like I went all out on Surfshark in this episode, but honestly, I try to spice up our sponsored stuff so you don't reach for the skip button out of sheer boredom. Instead of dragging you through a full one minute spiel, I prefer breaking it into bite-sized pieces to keep things easy to watch. My apologies if it felt a bit too much today.

Is Finn going to Tonga? Or going out on his VW van adventure?
Hope he goes to Tonga because that IS a trip of a life time with your siblings that later in life not going might cause regret.
Thanks for the update vid.
See you next week. 🌊🐬🌊
@@Whatareyoudoingwithyourlifethey said, Jake and Kate are going to Tonga mid may and Finn leaves (in his van) in June. There was never a plan for Finn to go to Tonga.
No worries Renee, I usually forward through adds but somehow you have a way of making them ok, if not enjoyable to watch ! You truly have a talent !!!
Those motor installations were quite impressive, those guys had it together!!!
One question, did you take the boat for a test run before sealing up the holes ?
Blessings
It's not just Surfshark. It's the relentless shilling of all kinds of products - Ullman Sails, multihullsnets, PYI, BRNKL, Vetus, Highfield, Mercury, SIMRAD, etc. The episode felt like one giant advertisement with a brief engine install thrown in the middle.
@@Brian30233 Huh? I guess this family is just supposed to foot the bill for your entertainment entirely out of their own pockets?
I can't imagine the cost of one new engine, let alone two...
Some people seem to have an unusual amount of entitlement, when it comes to free entertainment.
I’m a 62-year-old female in California that is just fascinated watching other people sail and maintaining their boats. Thank you so much for taking me along on your adventures. Love your family values and how much I learned about what it takes to make a boat tick.
One of the great things about Jack is how he seems dedicated to help his dad and learn how to do all these mechanical and electrical connections. He will definitely have to draw on this experience one day and it will help his become a great captain in work experience and not just name only. Happy Journey Jack.
Ignore those posters who say, “I already saw that on Finn’s channel” or “I already saw that on Jack’s channel,” etc. What makes it even MORE INTERESTING is seeing the same topic covered by different members on Zatara and seeing the same scenarios through other eyes/different perspectives. Keep up the great and interesting work. I look forward to all your posts, as well as those from Finn, Jack, Luke, Glory, etc. Thank you for sharing your journey with the rest of us who can only dream about doing what you do, due to health issues, lack of finances, etc.
I remember you getting your old dinghy. Keith was so excited about that 1. Brilliant.
Please get Kenzie to teach Jack the importance of sunscreen 😭
He said in a video he doesn't believe in it and that's really concerning and dangerous regarding his health and him spreading that message to his audience.
Glad you mentioned it today
I always put sunscreen on my kid's and when my son was 16 yrs old he still got 1st stage melanoma, all sunscreen does is keep from getting natural vitamin D.
@@sumofme1 Sunscreen is nothing but harmful chemicals baking into your skin
Jack my sister died at 47 from a Melanoma I miss her greatly so dose her son at the time he was 22 years old now he’s married with 2 kids and they haven’t got a grandma you put on Zink on your lips nose and ears and wear a hat 👒 and don’t be a clown
As a draftsman, I draw complex machinery assemblies with drive motors, right angle gearboxes, limit switches, pillow block bearings etc., that all tie together to make bridges go up and down or swing side to side. Before I start each job, I get what's called a cut sheet for each component. That gives me all the relevant dimensions I need to draw the various steel base assemblies at the correct heights and locations for each component accurately so that all the shafts and associated hardware line up properly. The cut sheet for that engine would have provided the dimensions before the engines were ever on site. That could have saved you some time and maybe a bit of frustration by knowing what had to be done beforehand. You could request the cut sheet(s) for that model engine and keep it on file just in case you need the info in the future.
With that said, Yanmar does provide easily downloadable CAD models from their website. I'm sure it's just one of those things.... do the planning up front and get it right, or just get after it and find out by doing. There is virtue in both but as I get older, the pre-planning seems to be winning for me more.
‘Just Catamaran’ is the only shop we trust to work on our cat! Kent is the greatest!
You let the old guy know I've owned boats for 30 + years. And if ever the situation arise. I would buy a boat from him in a heartbeat. He's really a good mechanic, electrical, it doesn't matter. He stays up on maintenance etc. Excellent keeper of the ride. Good for all who spend time on the zatara. 🙃
He sure is old, though.
I love this family. Started watching them during Covid and then lost touch for a bit but now I'm back. I hope they get their boat/home fully upgraded how they want it and that it all works to their satisfaction. It's also really neat to watch their kids get older and start doing things on their own but still remain connected to the core family. What a great adventure and way to live life!!
Side Note: I started using SurfShark a few years ago and got my whole family (even my elderly mother) on it. I can truly attest to what a great VPN it is - and that's without any sponsorship, etc. When my membership expires, I'll use the Zatara code for sure ;)
I forgot to tell you last episode, thank you for announcing the date out loud and writing the pop up explanations with white backgrounds! Big help for even young ones like me who have low vision.
Always nice to see clean engine bays
It was probably annoying to wait so long for the engines to be installed, but its better to be done right than half-ass and a sloppy mess everywhere.
I wish more boats had lights underwater around their boats like yours. It makes the boat so beautiful. You’ve done so many upgrades and fixes to make everything run smoothly.
Renee, you have got to be one of the most kind, considerate, and thoughtful person, who is really looking good since you lost weight. Happy Sailing ⛵
Congratulations on your new engine install. I'm sure you're confidence level will rise again. It's so nice to leave the dock with brand new turbo diesels. Great content and video, thanks!
Shogun is really good new seeies.
1923 and 1883 are both brilliant.
read the book, was a good book
@@stanmoulton6904 Books are always better😊.
Good variety , love the engine footage
Hard day at work today up at 4 45 min ride into Boston to work construction for 10 hrs heavy equipment excavators doing sewer and gas work.nothing ever is measured correctly from engineers it’s always a wait for parts. I totally understand. Best part of today was coming home and seeing a video from you guys which put a smile on my face! Fully invested in the journeys ahead. Stay safe
QUESTION: just how did you measure how much, if any, structural stability was compromised by the removal of the part of the stringers -
to make room for (heavier?) new engines?

Great episode! Congrats on finally getting the new engines in and mounted properly. The new Highfield Dingy is pretty awesome! Looking forward to next week's video!! Hope you all have a great week!
❤I wait all week for THURSDAY MORNINGS just so I can watch the new episode Miss Renee I wish they were longer but until then I watch them OVER AND OVER AND OVER😂 thanks for mentioning Glory she looks so lost and sad I know she wants to be with you guys its in her face her videos she fell deeply in love with your family sometimes people find those other people that are more then friends they are actually very loved family members and they just want to do nothing but be with the people they love. Me and my Gunner whom is my dog cant wait till next Thursday he loves the show he cant sleep deeply unless he is listening to you and the kids..With love your friends David Lori and Gunner ❤
I absolutely love it when Keith puts a business prospective on things when companies who supply items which supports your way of life .
❤ ik geniet hiervan, blij dat jullie weer zijn begonnen kan niet wachten op het volgende filmpje 😊
I always look forward to your updates and I'm glad they are getting your engines configured the way they need to be, Those men making them fit and insuring future serviceability are absolute pro's.
No matter how many measurements and pictures taken there's always a few details that get you and I'm glad Keith is right there double & triple checking every last tiny detail, having the foresight and knowledge of what it will take to swap out anything from a belt to alternator/generator and the space for tools to work in is critical.
Cheers To all aboard.
My favorite channel,, Zatara, Finn and Jack,,, all are awesome .
Great video!
I recommend Tracker! Great show.
Love the new Dingy and so glad the engines are in!!🥰❤️
Loved the episode Renee! Not sure why some people are so put off by the surfshark ad. I thought it was a great idea to split it up into smaller segments, really made the video flow smoother!👍🏼
Thank you!!🙏🏼
How exciting for y’all. With all the great upgrades it will be almost a brand new boat for many more years of sailing!❤
I do like this format of this episode.. You guys are leveling up... Great into well done...
OH my! The kids are all so grown up now. Smart, funny, charming, thoughtful, talented. You must be so proud. And congratulations on the new engines. They are so huge!
Your editing is at a whole new level, and to put out different content every Thursday and atomic time no matter your time zone, you guys are an inspiration, truly showing what it's like to having the finances flow from your passions ❤
It was so good seeing the engines both get installed. Whew that was close fitting them in there! Definitely like the new Dingy! Cool video 👍❤️
The engine rooms look perfect!!The trampolines are fabulous. The pads look so comfortable too. Also, the Eddie t😂😂😂
Thanks, Renee, another must watch great video!
As someone who loves aviation and flying, indie seeing and hearing the planes in your videos.
Love the red Alternator 😍
When the Bing Bong Boeing flew above, did you get loose parts on your heads ? Mouhahaha
glad to see you guys go with a Merc on the new dingy. I've only ever ran them as they are bullet proof. Only time i ever had an issue is when i got bad gas which caused detonation and the head to crack. i was 2 months out of warranty but our guy at Merc only made us pay parts they covered all the labor cost. Ive had a 90, 115 and a 60hp big foot. Hopefully yours proves to be just as reliable!
I get bad gas after tacos
Another great video !! Thanks for sharing. John
Awesome upgrades and maintenance. Safe travels wherever you go. Looks like y’all will all be back together a Christmas - hope it’s a great travel season for everyone.
Great you have your new engines in and the fiberglass repaired! You have your new and faster dingy now! Things are coming along, if everything went perfectly smooth we would not know what to do and constantly on the look for the missing snafu. Pretty soon you will be empty nesters and can step into your second childhood! Looking forward to your next video and hope the sea trial of the new engines goes well!
Rene' and Keith are the most incredible Humans on the planet! The way you have raised all of your children to be creative thinkers and great humans is what every parent should strive for. You have made me so motivated to chase my dreams and live the life that makes me happy. Just know that you are having a postive impact on so many people's lives and many of us subscribers don't listen to the "Haters" because we all feel the Love that you share!
I grew up with a Mercury Outboard in the 1960s. Great to see they remain in business.
Yes Mercury Marine is alive and well. Currently (since 1989) owned by Brunswick Marine. Mercury Outboards and Mercruiser Stern Drives
I love the classic 80's Eddie Murphy comedy shows. I had his cassette tapes and would play them all the time! lol!! Gooneygoohoo!!
I've been watching for this waiting for the engines to go ion...You guys must be stoked !!
Thanks for sharing this with us. I could never get us used to thise jets 😢.
Keith asked “where do you want me?” The guy should have responded “out of the way!!!”
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Jack, THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 you beat dad to the punchline 😅 21:52
I be nervous on your next crossing with all those new parts
I watch Zatara every week. So fun to follow your adventures. While I love my life (I’m a teacher), it’s nice to live a more adventurous life through you all! Chicago PD is a great series!
I know you are proud of all your kids, but to see Kate grow on the boat and move on to something bigger is awesome. I wish her all the success and hope her and Jack document their journies.
New engines looks great! Mike from Missouri
Awesome you finally got the engine in can’t wait to see you back on the sea !!!
Two beautiful engines for an awesome boat, Cant wait to see how the engine bay looks when finished, Keith is doing an amazing job eh!
Just Catermans do great work!
Congratulations ❤❤
Groovy episode. Nice engines.
you guys should watch 3 Body Problem, Keith will love it.
Hope you have better luck with the pyi seals, we went from traditional packing to pyi. Had some catastrophic failures, tried a tides that did well but burned up when it clogged from some eel grass. Now its traditional with teflon packing and a greese line. Its almost dripless and its 14k hrs old.
I look forward to my weekly instalments, of Zatara. Watching the boat come is amazing, all your Children are so clever, Kate is amazing, her knowledge of diving is outstanding, I wish her & Jack, all the best in Tonga, will they be doing any Vlogs, while being there. I wish you all safe travels & clams seas, wherever the future takes you. All the best from 🇨🇦
Geter done can't wait to see boat on the water
Yay new stuff being installed lol ❤ hey from Windsor On 🇨🇦
I just finished the Netflix series 'The Gentleman' and 'Ripley' both great. Enjoy!
that seal was pretty sophisticated ..
Great show yall.
You guys should put in some skylight hatches in place of the holes they cut out.
Removing engines and installation, even the same one, is a real PITA! So nice that you have true professionals doing the work for you guys. Mistakes happen. But having a work crew and a company that knows their stuff is reassuring!
So many planes because people LOVE it here in Florida!!! ☀️🏖️🌴🍹
When the "kids" are all gone it will he so quiet. Maybe too quiet.
I happen to know a few young folks that might be available to help out with such a large boat as Zatara..? Have you heard of this guy named Luke? And a young lady called Glory? Just saying.... 😉
Have you considered creating sealed yet openable hatches where you opened up the deck, to allow you access if you ever need it again, without having to rip out the deck to get to the engines again?
I have an 18 year old daughter about ready to fly the nest. Big hugs mama! I know what you’re going through! ❤
Could you give us a ball park figure on how much it costs to re-engine a boat like this. Enjoying the channel. Tks for sharing.
Keith I am sure I will run into the same issue replacing my Fiero GT V6 engine with a LS4 Corvette motor. I can watch all the videos but my install will be different for sure.
Absolutely love the video like always. ❤
Endinf was hilarious😂
Love from gnd❤
Jeremy Clarkson of the seas.
You guys are so freaking amazing!! Something needs done, even if y'all want to or not, you just grit and or even smile and get'r dun!! 🎉 I have good for to Thursdays for years, and it all started with your channel ❤
Always prayers for smooth sailing and following seas for all of your journeys and adventures 🙏
Kait or really all of them should look into connecting with Odyssey Expeditions. If they like doing all this Scuba diving. You can work on their sailboats and teach 20 and younger to scuba and about sailing. Typically it’s a 3 week sailing trip. But with their knowledge it’d be a great interim thing for them to do! I earned my Divemaster certification with them and loved it.
You two are going to be shedding some tears in a few weeks.
Hey Keith just checking did you put the 2nd set of grub screws in your new shaft seal? They go on top of the first set. Keep up the good work 👍
I've recently finished Tokyo Vice(Max) and I can't recommend it enough, very good show!
Hey Zatara gang! I'm not sure if you've watched it yet, but I've just finished watching, FALLOUT, on Prime Video. It's based on the video game of the same name. But the thing I liked about it the most was the futuristic feel of the cinematography, but it's accompanied with music and sounds from 1950's America. Oh, and good job on getting the 1st engine in! Love from the UK x
It doesn’t matter what part of my day I find your new video in, it’s always the best part of my day
Thank you! 🙏
0:03 0:03 0:03 If you like mystery "Endeavor"on PBS is a favorite it can be slow at times so stick with it payoff is sooo good. Poldark is a great all inclusive series. Struggle, romance, hardship, all creatures great and small.
Also Bletchley Circle
Would love to see you guys do a trip the around the Whitsunday Islands in Australia ❤❤ it is so pretty there 😊
Love your videos 💕
Keith whatch Shogun, brilliant.
Renee, Just Catamarans may find useful the 3D survey system to fit engines on shop drawings instead of trying with the engine itself. And you need a ski pole on that new tender.
It looks like this has been an expensive trip but I guess it's cheaper than getting Seatow 1,000 miles off shore if they even come that far. Keep the good stuff coming guys and good luck with all of the new gear.
Hope you guys enjoyed Fort Lauderdale. I grew up a few miles away from where you were docked. It's a lot more crowded than it was when I was a kid but it's still a nice place.
It would be nice to know a ball park figure of what the cost of all that deconstruction, installation and re-construction was?
Just watched the last episode of Shogun last night on Hulu. It's an incredibly well done show. The authenticity is off the charts good. I'm pretty sure it will rack up the Emmy's. Fair winds and following seas.
Keith’s smile as the Mercury stomps the Honda in acceleration and top Speed.
Just when I thought the day couldn’t get better, Zatara!
I'm getting so excited for y'alls future. That empty nest is gonna be painful. I only have one and thought I was gonna just die. At least we can FaceTime, and we talk every day. She's wonderful as I'm know yours are. I look forward to all of your new adventures. Yay on those engines! I would love to see some of Kate's art but that's the artist in me. Renée where did you get that fantastic hat? My husband and I are taking our 1st cruise the end of May. I know the sun is brutal in the Bahamas, well, everywhere. Anyway, I really look forward to see what everyone's up to. I think Jack's relationship is cute and truly appreciate
how you addressed it. We also have always been straight up with our daughter, and in turn, she's been honest. Of that, I have no doubt.
Apples Never Fall, Sugar (Colin Farrell plays detective John Sugar). Great video! Have fun sailing the Caribbean again!
Must watch Outlander....superb!
LOL...I remember that Eddie Murphy skit when it first came out oh so many years ago!🤣🤣
I follow you since 100k you have all respect and safe travels 🤝🌹🫶🏻
Engines awesome, new Tender Awesome, overall video AWESOME!
Love that the engines are put in now! Whoop whoop. Fallout is a good show to start watching btw’s.
Hi, The engines that were fitted in the end seem to be different engines that were initially fitted, the fist new engines had a red yampa logo the last engines did not have the red logo. Philip.
Just curious do both engines spin the props the same direction or does one go clockwise while the other goes counter clockwise?
