Used to be a dog person but we recently adopted a cat and I couldn’t have been more wrong about them. He’s cuddly, follows us all over the place, loves to play and has already learned a few tricks.

Cats are like houseplants. They’ll make you feel less lonely, but don’t require as much effort as a dog. If you’re going to be out of the house a lot (work, travel etc) then a cat is better suited for you.

I know it's a joke but majority of cats I've know are extremely loyal to their owners. I've been in some homes and they would not approach me they stuck by their owners side. I remember befriending a stray a few years back and he was like my main little buddy, if I snapped my fingers he'd come running out the bushes, he eventually brought me "food" (dead squirrels/rats/birds) nice gesture, and he was super protective.
