    much nicer than the single LED light that comes in the Lux package. Will be interested to see how the "sticky" mounting method holds after your bed gets really hot or really cold. I've had poor results with anything sticky holding long term on plastic. Metal generally has better adhesion. Nice clean looking install though. you do good work.

      Time will tell. I am in TX so it will get hot (and cold) expecting subzero temps this week ! I will definitely post an update down the line on how it holds up. Worst case I spend another $25 in a year or two haha

      Should be fine as long as you pre-clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol. Stuck to my 12 F150 for 4 years in 100f+ and -0 temps...
      I went with a round switch that popped in the bed extender hole in almost identical location on myF150. Hid everything nicely.

    Great video, but I saw a switch panel on another video installed. Real simple switch panel (drivers side) so maybe I'll try it as it would make things easier on my XL. Again thanks for your video I'm ready to tackle this :)

      Thanks ! Yes a switch would be awesome. I’ll have to find that video.

  • @justinmentalewicz3923

    I just installed the lights. Pretty nice, but my only issue is when you wanna add a bed cover you’ll possibly ruin your lights

    I don't have any faith in the adhesive strips on the back of the LED lights. Where I live it's down to -20 degrees in the winter, and up to 100 degrees in the summer. That glue will be shot in less than 2 years.

    I plan on doing this to my Maverick but was wondering if you could cut the factory switch off the lights and replace it with a rocker switch?

    • @TreyJustice
      @TreyJustice  Před 2 měsíci

      You can wire it to a rocker switch

    How do you know where you can cut the LED strip to fit the Maverick bed? Is there a marking you can see with the tape not exposed or do you pull the red backing of the strips to see where to cut?

    • @TreyJustice
      @TreyJustice  Před 2 lety

      There are lines on the strip that show where you can cut

    Any idea where to buy that Ford cord from the glove box? We bought a used Maverick that did not come with the cord.

      I have not experienced any battery issues. I have not left lights on more than 15 minutes though.
