- This might interest a few of you. She's the Silvercat 46 Lux with the option of inboard diesel or outboard power. She looks like she might be a bit of a weapon on the water and with comfortable accomodation for 4 - 6 people with 2 toilets and showers (Actually 3 but thats another story - watch till the end lol).
Couple of features on here that are more suited to the Gulf but I can see the potential for some parts of Australia. Let me know what you think...?

Touring these Gulf-built boats has been interesting. Two big design misses on this one is only one forward facing seat when on passage and 'crawl over' beds, which everyone detests. I suspect manufacturability is the reason for all these slab sided, square corner'd shapes vs. the Euro builders swooping moldings & complex curves used by the Euro builders.
One good part of these tours IMO, Dan, is you describing ways to adapt a layout or some of the basic structures to your home audience (and our Florida market). We both get 'warm to hot and sunny' weather while the Gulf gets 'hot as the hinges of hell' and designs accordingly.
Hi Jack, yes it was super interesting to see how the Gulf States actually prefer things like fixed windows and triple the air con capacity to what we would use. Many other small design differences which are clearly better suited to their crazy hot environment but with a few minor changes could also suit ours. As they don't pay any tax they can afford to throw more labour at design modifications to open up to new markets. The only limitation will be the cost of shipping I believe.

On average in US dollars these Silvercats workout out to be the same price as a US boat 10ft shorter. So a US built 33ft boat would be the same price as a UAE 43ft boat. Was difficult as they were all talking in Dirums, I think in AUD and my audience talks USD, GBP & Euro...
Did they give you any speed numbers w the diesels vs quads? Can’t wait until we start seeing more cat options like these in the states

It’s a great boat. Some ideas that aren’t “it needs this “ just random things
Cabins - maybe do toilet/sink one side; enclosed shower the other - screen beds with a simple curtain.
Bow toilet - put a hatch at the bottom to drop unruly people through lol. (Seriously. Is it needed ? (This will sound weird but in AU we have confined space entry laws ….). Is there a relationship between the “toilet hatch” lockers and the “cabin areas”? Rework?
Solar optimisation on roof ? (Or a sports fly ?)
Option water maker?
Port galley area - fridge/freezer draws ?

I like your thinking re separate toilet and shower. Definately heaps you could do wit this much platform to make it more suitable to Australia!

I didn't get to have a drive so i'm unsure of the performance stats. Also did not see a seekeeper.
