When I’ve mentioned Aventus to anyone outside of frag fans. No one, literally no one has even heard of Creed, Niche or Aventus. Most people just buy designer and wouldn’t dream of dropping £250 on an ‘aftershave’.
Me personally, I love Aventus. I almost hate that I do, but I do. Its expensive. YES, IT IS EXPENSIVE. Has there been a weakening of the scent, it very much seems like it yes. Did Creed do some wrong things? Yey they did. But, I LOVE AVENTUS. Even if nobodg compliments me, my nose loves it. So, two days ago, I went and bought a 6.7 ounce bottle of mont blanc explorer. I did this to crave my taste and love for Aventus. Well, at first spray I felt satisfied. But a few hours later, I smell a Playdo scent on my arms. I realized something, I need to stop trying to replace something that cannot ever be replaced. Like nate dogg said, “they can come closer than close, original they never will be. “. So, I am going back to the house of love. I bought a big bottle of it and will let it sit and form. I like that its losing its popularity. A scent that is so unpredictable because it is so natural, yes, I’ll take that.
I just wish no one knew about it when I was grabbing this in 13’-14’. Those were some of my best days. Now it’s so popular that it ruined it exclusivity. And also its quality. But good times don’t last forever I guess.
I'm not overly concerned about the concept of 'alternatives'. What's annoying me about Aventus and always will, is that it's impossible to say, 'this is a consistent fragrance'. I can wear one batch and it'll smell great, and I'll wear another that will literally just smell like iso-e-super on the drydown. If they can get their bloody house in order, it would be fine.
Love these videos. The music really does set you apart from everyone else(as well as your presentation and knowledge) because the beat reminds me of a boiler room session. Mad chill, yo.
For me, Creed Aventus is a timeless fragrance. I like the smell and on me it has good performance and projection. The problem with Aventus is the douches who wear it. In my office, they have slicked back hair, suits two sizes too small, and they let everyone know that they’re wear “Aventus 2012” and they consistently remind the other guys that the newer reformations are no good. I guess that’s the true magic of Aventus, because when I wear it, I slick my hair back, put on a $2000 suit (that the salesman told me “that’s how it’s supposed to fit”)and walk around the office like I know everything, unapologetically. It’s basically Drakkar Noir.
The problem is witch batch of Aventus is this clone or that clone trying to clone. Too many many batch variations is Aventus to tell if a the clone is any good. This clone might not be a good copy of my Aventus but it might be a perfect copy of someone else's batch.
@@mroberts453 it's a slightly juicier smw. Not as distinctly floral overall but still beautiful with an ink accord. Performs great. I got mine a few days ago from Max Aroma.
I own a great batch of Aventus, Aventus cologne, CDNIM, Explorer, and PVI. It’s top 3 favorite fragrances for me and has been since the first time I ever smelled it. If you’re not a collector I would recommend going with the clones HOWEVER for me personally I get a certain confidence from wearing it over all of the others so to me it’s worth it
Denis Begic Explorer is great as it’s own thing but i only find it to be about 80% similar..performance is also quite bad. None of the clones I’ve tried capture the smell and quality of the real thing imo
Honestly speaking" being in the fragrance game close to 20 year's now! What you said and the valid point's you made" Could not have been said any better. Awsome job.
Ive got Explorer and Ive got CDNIM EDP, and im happy with them. If you like Aventus, cool! But I dont see a point in paying that much when I can get damn close for cheaper
What a superb video George. I couldn't agree more with your assessment of the Aventus situation. I bought Aventus and it's safe to say it will be my first and last bottle. Nothing justifies the price plus the range of options are countless. The ARMAF's just work for me.
@@hocineted7594 Well, you can do what I did. I bought a 50ml from a discounter, simply to own the original. Vintage or better performing batches would be sold on a markup which isn't worth it imo as you'd get better value for money from an ARMAF or any other clone.
Your video is so much better, informative and honest that Jeremy's one. I like Aventus but for the reasons you pointed out I will never buy it again. There are so many other fragrances to choose from.
Allow me to share my experience which, I suspect is the same as a lot of other people on here. I was stupid enough to buy Aventus on ebay, only once and thankfully got a full refund. I then purchased some from the Creed website and can still recall the anticipation and excitement when I unboxed this gem. My excitement was short lived sadly, as longevity was non existent. I became aware of the groups on FB devoted to Aventus and discovered that my batch number which ended with "N" was actually a re-formulation. So I had been misled. I got in touch with Creed and pointed this out, and they agreed to take the bottle back for testing. Eventually, I got a response. They said the batch was fine but, as a gesture of goodwill they replaced it with a new bottle. After a month or so of agonising over this, I contacted Creed again and asked for a refund as my replacement bottle was still "cellophane intact". To their credit, Creed took the bottle back and I got a full refund. I liken the whole Aventus "obsession" to badge snobbery with cars. Yes, the presentation was great - I got a lovely box with gold tinsel and 2 samples. But the quality wasn't there. I've since experimented with a few clones and find the Armaf offerings to be far superior. Of course, the hardened Aventus community will laugh at this but to the vast majority to whom value for money is a real concept, the clones are a no-brainer. Great fragrance and great longevity. I don't miss the gold tinsel. This review is great and is made all the more valid by the experience of the author who actually worked for Creed. Please do the 40 min clip mate, it will be just as good if not better than the other reviews you've done. Thanks very much, to think I used to watch the clapping guy in the white suit.......
The hype is real. I remember smelling Aventus for the first time and I haven’t experienced a fragrance before or since which makes such a first impression. It’s verging on narcotic-like. What I learned from owning a bottle is that it isn’t really the fragrance for me. I will still spray a piece of my arm and sit on the toilet inhaling the magic fumes but rarely do I feel inclined to wear it in any social setting. I don’t really understand why. Maybe it’s a bit like meeting the most beautiful woman you have ever seen and realising that even if you had a chance you would never have anything to talk about. I have the inverse relationship with Platinum Egoiste. A fragrance that never set my heart racing and yet it fell on my lap and wormed its way into my life to the point where I found myself reaching blindly for it every other day. I still don’t know if I could write a love letter to Platinum Egoiste but I feel inclined to declare that its love for me is not unrequited.
Aventus has no problem. It is people who complain about it that have problems. If you can afford it, go for it. I have a 2019 version. It smells great and it performs great. I do not wear it to garner compliments but I do get a lot of compliments from women. All that talk about it being a panty dropper is really odd to me.
Another great content George, Aventus change pretty much fragrance landscape, probably down the road maybe I might get a Aventus who knows, so anyways have a great, wonderful, blessed, positive, productive and safe weekend and Happy Easter to you and your family and as well to you and your family stay safe
Really enjoying these daily videos! And that tune's a banger 🙌🏻 It's unfortunate that the inconsistency between batches is what holds myself, and many others, from buying new bottles every couple of years and now prefer to go for the cheap yet consistent clones for nostalgic reasons. Hopefully, this and the most recent purchase of the Creed brand by BlackRock doesn't lead to the King being toppled from his throne. Long live the multifaceted King!
Purchased CDNIM, sprayed it on, drove to the pharmacy, as soon as I walk in, the 4 ladies working there “OMG, you smell good!!!” Now my earlier batch of Aventus received these types of compliments (2012-13) but none of the batches that I purchased after that garnered the same attention. I will never buy another bottle of Aventus again. It’s watered down and the price keeps going up. I would have happily continued to pay $500 for Aventus if they could keep that consistent scent that I fell in love with in 2012, especially since I’ve been fighting the urge to wear clones, but now, it just doesn’t make since to buy it anymore.
Yes it is stil worthy for me,there are some good batches from 2018 and 2019 I have one batch from 2017 and it is my favourite, prefer it over 2018 and 2019 Even there are lot of clones i would always choose Aventus 😀
A lot respect for aventus, but I felt like they are taking our love for granted, but seriously there are a few fragrances worth trying around the same price
I've been lucky with all my Aventus bottles. I've just picked up a 21S01 batch from flannels and it's actually very nice, not as good as my 18K11 batch however that was a ambergris/vanilla monster. This one is more Apple strong than anything which I like, I've had 19y11 and 19y01n and both were great pineapple heavy, with a creamy sweet dry down. So for me overall the batch issue hasn't been an issue for me at all, the complete opposite really I've enjoyed having different kinds of Aventus. Do I wish I could get 18K11 again at a consistent rate? Yes in some ways. But I'd probably get fed up with it
With soooooo many options, a $250 bottle has to check quite a few boxes for me. Consistent and long lasting are just two. Creed seems to have issues with both. I'll pass.
Pretty sure he said 250 pounds, which would be around $313 today. It's worse than that....checking out creedboutique Aventus retail prices start at, for their smallest size (50mL) at $325.
@@keeleye7225 Yeah, I'll be honest, I just pulled $250 as a generic "niche" pricing. Without the specifics you'd mentioned, my opinion on them still applies (just more so with your numbers. LOL)
If there is a demand in the market for the Aventus DNA at a far more affordable price, someone will meet that demand. Creed Aventus in my 2020 batch is inferior to my 2016 batch, which performs for hours more than the newer one. The 2020 batch is also underperforming when compared to CDNIM. It's that simple.
Had it in 2012, nobody had ever smelled it and it was brilliant for a few years. I don’t wear it anymore as everyone else does. For me it’s got worse over the years which is gutting. I remember smelling the patchouli in it the the first time and thinking I’ve never experienced this before. I chased that same bottle for years and never found it again. I’ve had at least 15 bottles, what a waste.
I have a sample of Hacivat coming so we’ll see but I’ve tried a lot of Creed clones or inspirations. Some are a joke not even in the same ball park. Others are excellent fragrances if judges on their own really nice however I have yet to smell an Aventus clone or an Aventus DNA that smells as good as Aventus and smell is number 1. Performance price availability all that comes into play but smell is the number 1 priority and Aventus smells the best. Any batch I’ve tried. Smells better than all the PV clones. I’ll see what happens when Hacivat turns up but as far as smell Aventus is still the best smelling “Aventus DNA” I’ve tried but that’s me 🤷♂️
May I request a sleeper hit fragrance for next video on this topic: Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine. In my local frag group it appears on personal top 5 summer a lot yet I rarely seen people talk about this. At all. Or Terre d’Hermes. Or anything with prominent orange note for that matter.
Yeah! I only have under 10 fragrances, most of them are Niche, include Orange Sanguine in there, I have to say I bought it immediately when I smell it, most realistic fresh squeeze orange fragrance ever, especially for an orange fruit lover
The DNA of Aventus will probably be one that'll be around for decades. I think people in general would be willing to live with the batch variations, but that was pretty indicative of poor QC. But what really did it in was the ever increasing price. When they're retailing $400 for 100ml, it was bound to invite some very dedicated cloners that can even match the better batches.
Can someone tell me why the prices for Creed Aventus is higher on their official website CreedBoutique.com compare to Fragrancenet and Frangrancex? How is that possible?
Well done George. I actually owned a bottle up until I sold it on this year as I was off on long term sick and needed to generate some cash. I bought it a few years ago from Selfridges in manchester, and I will allways remember the guy on the counter paying me more attention than ya typical Boots Assistant but I just never got the hype and tbh I much prefare Green Irish tweed. And I really dont miss Aventus at all. I most definitely wont be buying another bottle at the price it is now! Stay safe mate. Mark.
I can't make out what was said at 10:25 , "you can buy a far stronger version of aventus with the *" what word was said here? I've just bought a 2020 aventus and love the scent but I wish the same scent would last longer, I'm getting up to 4 hours.
I don't know Aventus. They should have a consistent product, it's what 400.00 a bottle? Coke changed their formula knowing it would spark a great outcry. They called it "New Coke" knowing ahead of time they could exaggerate the resistance, even though the resistance was great. They said it was an adjustment to compete with Pepsi, but they did it so they could slightly rebrand their product by calling it Coke "Classic" without looking pretentious, and get more sales. I'm no perfume expert, and I buy with no thought of what is popular. It is disappointing when you like a fragrance to find out it has been changed, but Creed to me has always been a little too pretentious, if only in their price. What happened to being timeless? Do the honeysuckles change their fragrance every Spring? No.
Just bought creed aventus over at fragrancenet.com and the actual box came in wrap with plastic... the bottles and smells seems legit Does anyone knows if creed starting to wrap their box now? Does Anyone knows? Thanks
Whatever year mine is, it's still king. Bought it in early 2014. Still dark, smoke and pineapple. Ambergris making it an unnaturally natural bond with hints of spice and cream. Not normal perfume. I can't stand most colognes and perfumes. I'm afraid to say that I've been hoarding this bottle and only have a good several more moments with it. Tom Ford Tuscan leather currently competes (beats it honestly) in projection, hearty notes, and longetivity but misses any kind of playfulness. That one is great but all business. My two go-tos. Not gonna be a repeat customer of Aventus. Have had some samples in the last two years from places like Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus and they simply don't compare.
All great points, and I fully agree with you. The price really does suck. I still fully like the fragrance, but by no means is it "the king of fragrances"
I'm really impressed with the attention for clones. Normal Creed customer would never by a clone. End of story. Smell doesn't matter here. You don't hang a copy of famous painting in your 10M house. I do respect intellectual property and would never by anything smelling like Aventus except for the Aventus itself. Aventus became Rolex in fragrance, you can have a fake for $500 and most people will never tell the difference, but does this bother Rolex? So is it relevant? Look at the sales and you'll know. For me, it's relevancy closely correlates with sales, but in the opposite way. When you buy an expensive scent, go out for a party in a restaurant and find a bunch of chaps smelling just like you, you may have second thoughts on your fragrance choice.
Is nice but can smell a bit basic and windowlene like if the right kind of person doesn't wear it. Using some good layering with complementing shower gels and deodorants really lifts some fragrances
I have a 2013 aventus and recently got a decant to see what it smells like in 2021.... holy shit it smells like a knockoff of the old aventus. it's NOT still good.
I totally respect your aversion to clone houses, but I wish you would consider delving I to parfums vintage. I never would have bought the real thing forever but their performance is so poor now and their pricing is so ridiculous, I feel like parfums vintage has given an invaluable gift to the fragrance loving community. They have some truly top notch stuff, far superior to what creed has become.
wtf, you completely missed the point. No one needs you to talk about this laffy taffy jibber jabber. Only thing that matters is you test the 2019/2020 reformulation and tell us how it is
How good? I remember about a year ago smelling this on a customer of mine was being super impressed, I'd never smelt anything like it. Then just before the lockdown I tried some on in a shop and was so underwhelmed, it barely smelt of anything! I couldn't believe the difference between the two and came to the conclusion that they must have watered the testers down in the shop because its so popular? I've now starting researching and came across all these debates about batches and reformulations etc! I'm like wtf. For me its a lot of money to pay for a fragrance, its worth it to get what I smelt on that guy but not what I experienced in the shop.
Purchased a bottle of the exact same batch. I personally haven’t smelled any batches pre-2019. Currently thinking about buying a batch from 2016, I want to smell the difference
Creed Aventus is the most relevant fragrance of the decade bar non and I hate what has happened. In 20 years from now 4 oz bottles will be worth thousands. It is and will remain the most relevant niche fragrance not to mention it honestly has a lot to do with the explosion of fragrance CZcams blowing up.

I just unboxed and did a first impression on Batch 19S31 and it’s a great batch in my opinion! I think Aventus will still be good even in 2050!

@@keeleye7225 Yeah, I'll be honest, I just pulled $250 as a generic "niche" pricing. Without the specifics you'd mentioned, my opinion on them still applies (just more so with your numbers. LOL)
Thank you, mister. Good video !
The king of fragances 💪
Thanks for the vid....just bought 32 bottles of Aventus
Remarkable video
I was actually thinking about this today, great video mate
Learned a whole lot on this one! Keep going :)
Can't be a new cdim cause that shit sucks last for a hour and there's no depth no smoke just citrus weird smell.
Never heard of this Aventus thing. Going to look it up and blind-buy
Very Nice George!
I'm honestly sick of hearing about Aventus and I haven't been in fragcom but 8 months
Bradley Stroup right
Haha ikr !!
Chris Hunt apparently they watered down the patchouli at the end of 2016...
I prefer Armaf. It's much cheaper and got that smokey smell to it. Also it is stronger on me which is the most important factor to me.
This year armaf is shit
Don’t care about the batches, Aventus is Aventus. It is pricey but the fragrance is top notch.
I wish I could wear a sweater/jumper like you, George. Looking good, keep it up.
BTW your analysis in this video is fucking spot on, christ almighty.
PV Emporor Maximus Edp smells better than new batches of Aventus and lasts 8+ hours. I'm obsessed again! Feels great!
Can someone tell me why the prices for Creed Aventus is higher on their official website CreedBoutique.com compare to Fragrancenet and Frangrancex? How is that possible?
Are the reformulations also due to regulatory requirements changes too?
Well done George. I actually owned a bottle up until I sold it on this year as I was off on long term sick and needed to generate some cash. I bought it a few years ago from Selfridges in manchester, and I will allways remember the guy on the counter paying me more attention than ya typical Boots Assistant but I just never got the hype and tbh I much prefare Green Irish tweed. And I really dont miss Aventus at all. I most definitely wont be buying another bottle at the price it is now!
Stay safe mate.
Mark.
I was just thinking:
What if the Creed website just immediately cut their prices in half? Would they sell more?
Valzalel I mean, they wouldn’t sell less..
I can't make out what was said at 10:25 , "you can buy a far stronger version of aventus with the *" what word was said here?
I've just bought a 2020 aventus and love the scent but I wish the same scent would last longer, I'm getting up to 4 hours.
I got batch 19Y11N. I'm disappointed but I go nose blind almost instantly.
He said "DUA" which is a fragrance company.
No.
I absolutely hate CDNIM, it smells like straight lemon scented alcohol. I wanted to love it but I’m afraid I’m going to give it away
The older CDNIM batches are MUCH!!!! better than the new ones. The new batches have a blast of citrus and don‘t last as long as the older ones
Just bought creed aventus over at fragrancenet.com and the actual box came in wrap with plastic... the bottles and smells seems legit
Does anyone knows if creed starting to wrap their box now?
Does Anyone knows?
Thanks
Yes they wrap the newer 2019-2020 in cellophane
@@coreywilkins7899
Thank you.
Wonderful review and you are right Creed is awesome, however, they have a big problem to the batches cuz they are changing from time to time.
I live in Greece and unfortunately they don’t ship here ,I found a batch 18k11 on eBay should I get it?
Aventus still the king 💪
Dishing us the harsh reality of being to big for your own boots. Well said George.
Creed Aventus will always be the natural 👑
Edem A. Only the vintage though
Nobody:
Absolutely Nobody:
My brain at 1:34: REE
The most perfect review regarding Creed Aventus 👍👍👍👍
Yes!!! I agree with every single word of this video. Smells good but anybody with any sort of interest in fragrance is over it now
Yes please to the documentary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The music sold me to subscribe lol
Is this a tag video ? This is the 3rd Aventus “is this still good” video this week.
Well said, i was just about to comment with what you just said.
I know..and i enjoy the various points of view. Its no longer viable.
They are not different. The different batches depends on maturity. They keep barrels of the mixtures in wine cellars.
Aventus is a legend and immortal
Is nice but can smell a bit basic and windowlene like if the right kind of person doesn't wear it. Using some good layering with complementing shower gels and deodorants really lifts some fragrances
I have a 2013 aventus and recently got a decant to see what it smells like in 2021.... holy shit it smells like a knockoff of the old aventus. it's NOT still good.
Funny how you never mentioned anything about Parfums Vintage. Hahaha!
Nice take on this reality. do a review on I•MIRAGE 23 EAU DE PARFUM. Why do you prefer M23?
Canada fragcom is quite friendly though, ahah. Interesting to know that my enjoyment of Fahrenheit is actually relevant where I live
I found a 13Q02 batch on eBay and the guy asking 350€ for 35ml
wtf, you completely missed the point. No one needs you to talk about this laffy taffy jibber jabber. Only thing that matters is you test the 2019/2020 reformulation and tell us how it is
@Secret_Armor How was the most recent batch compared to the other old batches?
Great video
I need the name of this filthy song...
Did you find out? I want to know as well
It might still be good but at the price it's so far out of my reach that it's not relevant
Im from algeria i like your stile good video
can you pls make a video where you compare and explain a bunch of aventus clones?
Plus remember folk Creed prides themselves as a high end niche fragrance company so price is subjective.
I just bought a new batch, 20A01N. Yes it’s still good. Not what it was but it’s quality.
