I just lost my only son, Justin, to suicide 4 months ago. He was 24. We would sing this song together when he was little...it was played at his funeral service...you did a wonderful job...I am smiling through my tears

Right or wrong doesn’t matter anymore, he was young and no one is perfect. It happened. I cannot speak anything for him but only wish he could happy wherever he goes. I hope sad nights will be minimal for his mom. Can’t imagine how it feels to lose a child. She will miss and love him as always..!

My dads a singer as well and would sing this song all the time at single shows or with his band,I was raised with Lynyrd Skynyrd in my heart and the love for great music.my dad has been extremely sick lately and, your rendition brought me right back to the times where we would drive down the backroads from a show and he would sing this to me.thank you I I hope everyone else gets as much joy out of this as I did.

I'm 28 years old,since i was around 17, my youth was shattered,i was a big mess tilll 2 years ago,where i jump push thru and after many ups and downs,heavy stress and so,i manage to be stable,family is ok,im a banker atm,fit and really enjoying life again,facing chaos and imposing order.Somedays i just go thru heavy stress 12 hours of work,training,house work and so..i feel down but i listen to this song which is my favorite and this cover which is so incredible and amazing and it makes it see things in perspective again and center myself in life again.Thank you for making something so remarkable man.I wish you all the luck and good health thru ur life too you,your family and friends.:)

I have some friends that are like brothers to me. I told them years ago I want this song played at my funeral. I put a couple calls out to remind them of their promise. Even if they just have to do it after the funeral and by graveside. Those men who helped raise me up so many times, I want them to lay me down when it's all over. You’re now my favorite artist. I am a HUGE acoustic fan. Hearing this I’m blown away. This song, the original was played at my uncles funeral. I cried then just as much as I cried now. This song is what life is for my family, well my mothers family growing up. And my uncle continued that life in that same old farm home until he died with stage 4 small cell lung cancer.
