- Whilst most guitar players gravitate towards floor-based loop pedals, Sydney-based live looper Jack Shepherd prefers the flexibility and performance aspect afforded by tabletop loopers such as the BOSS RC-202 Loop Station.
In the first half of this video, Jack discusses why he chooses the hand-operated RC-202 within the context of looping performance. The second half features practical performance examples, including over-the-shoulder footage of the RC-202 in use.

I like it that the music still sound natural and has a relax flow.
You sold me, bro. Buying this tonight after work.
Amazing demo!
can volume of each track be assigned to external midi controller faders?
does it record unquantised, or only quantised (like the rc-505 mk2 does)?
Awesome
Hi! Great tutorial, thanks. I have a practical question: where did you put it on? Is it a dj-table?
Looks like a stool or a simple stand. It doesn’t have a hole in the bottom for a microphone mount unfortunately.
Thank you so much for the tutorial. And I’ve been wondering about whether it can allow me to do “shape of you” loop like ed sheeran or not. I’m really looking forward to your reply.
Very helpful tutorial trhanks.
Hi Jack, Do you know how to change the time signature? It seems like the only option is 4/4 but it would be nice to know if I can do 3/4. Thanks! Let me know.
You can change it under the bottom rythem, but not every groove can be played in 3/4 or 5/4
Would you recommend this looper over the Rc-30?
yes! in fact, I'm in the process of moving my live show from an RC-30 to the RC-202 right now. If you really need the battery power/portability of the rc-30, then by all means go for it, but the level of control doesn't necessarily stack up. the 202 and 505 are beasts, loads you can control, and you can connect just about any parameter to the control/expressions pedal inputs
what a snare XD
Fingernails kinda distracted me
Only the 3 time I watched it as. Was looking to that zoomed hand shot ..thinking somebody else was doing this female hand 😁. It looks like you are not a builder with those tiny fingers.
