Oli Bear I am sorry for your pain, I read something written about grief once, it likened it to an Ocean. Always there, raging at first, for a long time, followed by gradually calming waters with storms hitting frequently but over time they become less so, although they can still hit with breathtaking strength when they do hit. Grief is devastating. I pray good memories make you smile and music be a road to both memories and solace. He hits every note to perfection. When Sharon said he ticked every box at his audition I didn't really agree, I wanted more. He gave me more++++. Saara was amazing, I loved her performances. I just felt more of a connection with Matt. So happy for him. Hope he rocks it, Love to see Saara on the charts also. She IS amazing.
It is a perfect rendition i tell you.. The song does not require his high note in this song so you won't hear it in this one. Ballad songs mostly have to be softly sang like this, and I think he nailed it...

Matt does the low notes so well here, maybe it's the arrangement, but I really didn't like his high notes here like I usually do when he sings. He definitely seems like a suitable recording artist, as he has the whole package. Saara is not any worse and I hope that she will have a good career, like Adam Lambert, despite of coming second in X-factor.

I always prefer for my favourite contestant to come in second, as there is a recurring theme of those who ultimately do well in the music industry from XFactor, always being the 1st runner ups. Saara was my favourite. I do like this song though!

The season is over and I don't know how this guy won. He is flat in half of the song. I am not impressed, and if you have to vote because he is British, I guess I am the only one to disagree including with the judges who said the same thing to Sara, such as Simon's "I love a fighter." He said that to Sara every performance.

The song requires him to show emotions otherwise it would show emptiness. You misinterpreted it maybe as trying very hard??? Live shows normally is like that. It has to be meant in every word but not so much to make sure it doesn't become too cheesy, Come to think of it, at times you have to look at the interpreter's eyes to feel his voice speaks volumes. The power only comes within especially when you grasp every meaning of the word that goes along with every note. Besides this guy's high pitch range suits a pitch higher and this song limits it, the reason he belts out his voice to control his pitch which, again you probably seen him as trying hard? If you are into singing, I think you might know what I mean. I am a music teacher and that's how I see sit. Though my own opinion only.

That is because he does not have a say on which song to sing perhaps. Besides, he had shown he's capable of belting out songs which requires his powerful voice, haven't you noticed he can sing songs sang or originally made for female singers? This song is for a male singer this time. And maybe this time they wanted him to sing a song that would tone down his falsetto and high note. That's the challenge in it, to bring out the song his own way and see how it sounds. Believe me, many version of the song has been sang, each of them has different effect on us.
I'm not hating on him, all i am saying is, me personally i believe this song (if he chose it or not) is not to my personal taste... he has a good voice and this song is note perfect, but the emotion of the original is not there and the power that one normally expects with this song... a good performance yes, but not to my liking...

The truth:
1. Matt Terry's voice does NOT have quality (terrible voice.)
2. Hitting high notes with falsetto (the basic and terrible, too much falsetto which makes him sound girly), head tone also sound terrible.
3. Won by public's vote? because of his talent? 100% NO. They made up controversial news to make him popular (like, him and Nicole are having a deep relationship-- look it up.)
4. He is not good looking.
5. He is another X Factor FLOP. :)
