- The Girl and The Robots are an electronic pop trio formed in 2008 in Taipei, Taiwan. The band consist of a girl - Riin (vocals and occasional keyboards), and two robots - Jungle K (guitars and programming), Chuck Su (keyboard bass and programming), hence properly named.
Their first single "Lost In Yesterday" hit the market in late 2009 and caused quite a buzz in the indie circle thanks to its imaginative yet surreal stop-motion music video. The single was also nominated and won "Best Electronic Single" in the first annual GIM award held by GIO 2010. A second single "Stiletto Dreams" came out March 2010, and in January 2011 saw release of the much-anticipated debut album "Miss November".
The Girl and The Robots are currently writing and rehearsing new materials for the up coming major release expected the first half of 2012, while gigs and appearances in various festivals and occasions are extensive still.

I can't believe I just found this cover, I've been missing out for YEARS!
It's probably one of the best NewOrder Covers I've heard, it's probably up there with Sophie Ellis Bextor's cover of True Faith.
It made me feel like the first time I heard "Perfect Kiss" it's a total "trip" and I feel you guys captured the essence of breaking new ground discovering sounds and just letting the music take you where it may, all the analog electronics truly take you to that spot where you close your eyes and like that teen of yesteryear just tumble around the magical electronic soundscape that is the perfect kiss.
Not an easy track to cover, beautifully executed. And I want more of wherever that came from! Greetings from 🇲🇽

Come on, how can you care about the bass line being played on the guitar when you listen to such an amazing cover? "tonight I should have stayed at home playing with my pleasure zones" takes another meaning when sung by someone who is as not as strange as Bernard.

***** well, there is a pragmatic reason on other songs where Hook doesn't play a regular 4 string bass but actually a bass VI. Not everybody has a bass VI. Perfect Kiss uses a regular bass. If you see Jonathan Demme's New Order Perfect Kiss live 10 min video youll see that the parts that The Robots are playing on guitar Hook is actually playing them very high in the neck, getting in the range of the 6 string guitar. That's why the Robots version on guitar sounds spot on. The only time Hook plays very down in the neck is at the beginning and if you notice, the robots guitarist doesnt play that part.

timbre, the musical term is timbre. No, the 4string bass high range doesnt sound exactly as a guitar BUT someone who only plays guitar can play it and sound quite good. This is a cover, not an imitation, its an interpretation. Get it ?
+thegoonden any new order bass line should only be played on bass, it's either down to the guitarists arrogance or the bassists lack of ability, a little bit of distortion and a nice thick, slow gloop of chorus and good technique and you've got it nailed, it's about time the guitarist was told to stand at the back
Jed Stephens in your case its the "bassist lack of ability". Your cover of True Faith is horrendous. I cant hear any resemblance of Hook anywhere in the song. sorry
