Everytime I hear some "supposed to" expression I remember that scene from Italian job (1969) : "You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!"
There is a small question. For instance, in "Peaky Blinders" Tommy said: "you were supposed to be comING at the 6th chime" or something like that. What's the difference?

Hello, could you please explain these phrases and maybe give some more alternatives and examples for 'bluff one's way out of; worm one's way out of; brush someone/something aside. I'm just looking for a phrase to say
'to manoeuvre oneself out of some situation' like when we say something and it sounds really awkward so we just:🤦🏻♀️it's not what I meant, it's just you. Like in this sentence:
He told her that he knew everything, so she couldn't (?) bluff her way out of it anymore (?) blah blah blah

Hey Aly, I've got some questions about "be supposed to" and "should", in Chinese language, we always translate "be supposed to" and "should" into the same Chinese phrase "应该", thus most Chinese people think "be supposed to" and "should" mean the same thing, just like the following sentences beneath:
"You are not supposed to be here." ="You shouldn't be here."
"You are supposed to go home before 10:00 pm." ="You should go home before 10:00 pm."
Are they correct? Do these two expressions mean EXACTLY the same thing? Are they interchangeable? If not, is there any mutual relationship between them?
Is there any mutual or parallel characteristic between them?
How can we practice speaking?

I say this next bit fully knowing that it’s pointless, but I got the same type of comment when I spoke about Russia denying they were even attacking Ukraine. Now it’s a full on invasion, the narrative has changed to “well they deserve it then”. “They use human shields that’s why we bomb hospitals”
In England during the Iraq war, our media was saying word for word the EXACT same thing Russian media is saying now. Same situation. Different countries. Trust me mate, you don’t wanna be the guy who supported this.

As you know Russian people and Ukrainian people and others let say "new" countries lived in one HUGE country Soviet Union and they lived for a long time together, but then Soviet Union collapsed and things changed. What I mean that people are different, we never live like you British or American people. And what interesting is we gradually became like you = consumerism, Hollywood, Hip hop, and so on.
