I actually like this album and thought it was cool that bodom tried something different. Its a fun record and you can hear that in their playing. Shovel Knockout has a great opening riff on the bass and guitar and is just a song that gets you blood pumping through your veins. If the guys are having fun making their music then im all for it thats the reason why we all play music it fun

Janusz Reguła : I've been a Bodom fan for almost 20 years now. I'm not happy with what they did on Blooddrunk. It was the wrong direction, the wrong path. They abandoned their roots to get American fans when they always had them. Are You Dead Yet? Was a pretty solid album and didn't need to be expanded upon. Blooddrunk was their worst album and each album afterwords just felt like them trying to find their way back to what got them famous. Hexed was their best album in over a decade. I don't disagree with you that there's been some good songs after their Neoclassical phase, but they were too few and far in between...
Janusz Reguła :The reason I said it that way was because even Alexi said it himself that "We were dumb kids backstage at Wacken. We didn't really know what we were doing." I personally believe that it was around the time before AYDY that they realized how famous they had become. Literally overnight they went from being a bunch of drunk teens from Finland to one of the most famous Melodic Death Metal bands of the early 2000s. Once they realized that they were famous, I feel like they started to act more like how people expected them to act musically.
I never said that Alexi experimenting was a bad thing, but I swear it seems like they tried to keep putting out records that were expected of them and never really got back to that level their first four albums were at. I don't think that they could've made Hatebreeder II because by the time they made Hexed, all the band was tired of doing this... Alexi now has a new band and I kid you not they're pretty much learning how to play the first four albums. I doubt if Alexi will put a new album anytime soon. I'm sure he will experiment with new stuff in the future, and hopefully we all love it, but he is a man who lives to tour. He loves touring and he knows what his fans want. They want nostalgia. They want the original Bodom.
At this point, I'll settle for Hexed II since the intensity of Hatebreeder may never be captured again. I fear that it is far too late, but then again, you never know....we are talking about Alexi. I feel like if anyone can make lightning strike twice. It's him.
Janusz Reguła : The new members are learning how to play the old songs. These guys are all professionals and, yes, there was a minute of footage from a rehearsal last week. They sound pretty damn good. I wonder who they have on keys.
Alexi has been sober for 6 months, and apparently Halo of Blood is supposed to be their best album in the last ten years.SO stoked

the show in cyprus 2 days ago was just like that. It was a small venue and you could easily maintain a place in the front line without being literally squashed. You were pushed only when there was a mosh pit close to you, but i can say it was a hell of a show

I love this band..I have listened to them for years upon years..I was just stating my opinion..and I have seen what drugs and alcohol can do to musicians..They have always been wild..but it catches up to you..and I don't want that for them..because I want them to play for many more years to come.
