The fact that making fun of anyone in recovery was so widely accepted and even applauded such a relatively short time ago just shows how much society has moved on since those times. It’s awful to watch, I’m just glad Lyndsey stuck up for herself to the extent that she did, it must have been a horrible situation to find herself in with no warning.
Yeah I feel bad too. She wasn’t doing well financially at that point and had really thrown herself into work, she was trying not to drink and she absolutely only did that interview because it was required on a contract. Glad she held her cool and stood up for herself because in other situations she did not display the same attitude

Eat more protein, eat more fiber, and get some help. Hire a chef! Losing weight should not be as difficult or miserable for someone with your means.

As someone who grew up poor and dated a girl whose family had a personal chef, honestly, even though you know they're getting paid, it feels really fucking icky. Hiring someone to clean your house weekly I can understand, someone to watch your kid I understand, but when it comes to people serving you personally in your house, it feels really, really icky. Maybe he is uncomfortable with it? Or maybe he just really wants to learn to cook and make healthy food. That kind of thing is way better to do if your rich than just throw money at the problem.
I think he had a personal trainer and dietitian for a while. Thing is, she put him on a keto diet, and him and Hila basically thought keto seemed so obviously dumb that he only stuck with it for a week or two. Beyond that, I kind of suspect that Ethan feels like hiring a personal chef would be humiliating.
I know everybody wants to talk about diet stuff, but I really love this episode. The card segment made me so happy. The kind of elation I felt is rare and precious. This show is so special to me, it's beautiful.

You dont need to starve yourself and be miserable in order to lose weight.

this kindof actually partially happened: he showed a clip during press for the Joker movie that joaquin phoenix did not know was going to be shown. It was behind the scenes and in the middle of a really intense scene and there was an argument between him and some of the crew members. Nothing crazy but he was trying to get into character and people were distracting him. It's really clear that he did not know letterman was going to show that clip and he was really uncomfortable
