    it is an epic route for a dual sport or adventure bike.

    It is an amazing road. And you had the perfect kind of weather, no heat, no dust. Enjoyed this episode a lot after a day out scouting on the Transalp 600 (lot of muddy forest trails), Günter/Nürnberg

    A cracking track to take and the first part I thought was pretty tasty for an ACT route, the later part when we did it this was very dry and dusty which was on September 10th 23. The infamous toll booth for the Pic Negre which only appeared this year is still worth every euro and was high on my bucket list a couple of years back and it was great to return with friends who were seeing it with fresh eyes. An amazing place

      Sounds like you had an awesome time, we loved it as well and completely agree with you. What an amazing place. Next Friday episode is definitely going to bring back memories for you as we head off to find the VW. I think it was one of the best afternoons riding of my life

    a very nice video . well filmed and documented. I rode the ACT last summer. I mean what a journey ! i loved the hights even coming from switzerland i just loved the wild nature on a nature trail . BUT I think i missed the smuggler track part. which i must say was ok for me as i was alone on a 1200 GSA haha... adventure pure. best of luck further...

      You’re so lucky! Switzerland is such a beautiful country. Steff and I both love it there. We just love mountains ❤️
      We are really enjoying hearing from everyone that has ridden the ACT it’s such a great route.
      Thanks for the lovely compliment, next Fridays episode I think you’ll really enjoy. We took a sidetrack in the mountains and it became one of the best afternoons riding we’ve ever done

    Did this same route in June and it was bone dry. Easy-Peasy (the climbs were still amazing). Pic Negre’s climb after the toll booth gives you a “Hero Badge”, check out Itchy Boot’s ride with Charley Sinewan up there. Looking forward to the next!

      We are loving hearing from other people who have done the route and how much they enjoyed it. Such a fantastic little trip. I definitely think you’ll enjoy next Friday’s episode, I was just saying to somebody else it was one of the best afternoons riding of our lives we absolutely loved it. it’s really funny how excited we got when we eventually find the VW camper van😂

    Great vid. Thanks for taking us on our journey. One question. What app are you using on the tablets?

      Our pleasure, glad you’re enjoying it, tomorrow’s episode is a cracker we think 😊 When you ask what app we assume you mean for navigation? If we’ve got that wrong just let us know. We use an app called “gurumaps”. I’m sure there are others out there but we like it because it can be used offline and putting GPX tracks on is extremely easy

    What are those crash bars you’ve got there? Seem pretty neat.

    • @wanderinghonda7963
      @wanderinghonda7963  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Hi, we bought them from Thailand so they’re just cheap generic bars but they’ve really saved the bikes from damage when we’ve dropped them hard. There a little bent and beaten now but still seem to function ok 😊
      There’s a website that ships worldwide just Google bikerzbits if you wanted full details

    • @thesirralph
      @thesirralph Před 6 měsíci

      Oh, I know that website. Missed the bars apparently. Cheers! Did I mention I love your vids? I do 😁 I’d love to see a full one from the Iceland trip - the trailer was amazing and it seems the trip was brilliant 😉🥰

      Thanks for the lovely comments! 😊 Unfortunately we weren’t really filming much when we did the Iceland trip so that’s the only footage we have which we really regret because it’s an amazing country
      Hopefully you’ll enjoy the rest of this series, there are some great episodes coming up and we have some good plans forming for next year! Thanks again for your lovely comments, ride safe

      We use gurumaps. If you’re interested in the nav set-up we use we go into it on the “CRF300 Adventure Travel Set-up” video
      Hope that helps 😊

    I wasn’t surprised that on the ACT video they had trouble on that track. It had far less to do with the road surface than on their macho belief that to ride trails you have to take the biggest, heaviest most powerful motorcycle possible. That stretch alone proved that 5hey were wrong yet they still preferred to blame the conditions rather than their own limits and the limits of their bikes.

    • @wanderinghonda7963
      @wanderinghonda7963  Před 4 měsíci +1

      We agree with you that we much prefer our little bikes! To be fair to the team the conditions were significantly worse than when we rode it. It may have been tough for them, but they seem to be having an absolute giggle!
      We love all bikes, and we’ve had some heavy machinery in the past, including GS’s.
      In truly expert hands, it’s quite amazing what they can do, but we know our limits, we are not expert hands and we love our little light bikes. We’d never go back but we do look at the big adventure bikes enviously when we’re travelling long distances on road sections 😂
