Honestly! But they decided since they weren't going to charge us and they were going to allow us to earn it they figured they should at least maximize our time at the game they wanted to make sure we're playing the game alot atleast if they're not going to be making the money from the pay to win aspect. Yes they shouldn't of done it, but they look an L removing that. They lost a lot of money doing so. Most companies don't listen to they're players complaints so props to them.
5000 kills is definitely reachable for battlefront 2 Pro’s, but for average players like me it is quite the large number of kills to get, I’d say 1000 would be more reasonable. Because even an average player like me can rack up at least 50 to maybe even 85 kills with Maul in Co-OP.... supremacy is a waste of time since the person in second place always manages to steal Maul from me even though I worked towards Him. If their is ever another battlefront their should be a hero Queue system, and the person who gets first place gets the option to choose a hero first because they have the points first. It works in a line, and once you die as the hero you cannot get them for the rest of the match until every other top player has had their fun. Their can even be a time limit on the health bar requiring kills to regenerate it all I care, *as long as no single person hogs the hero the entire match ruining the fun for others.*
The devs for battlefront 2 announced that they are looking into changing the kill requirement for mauls skin. They never said how much they will lower it, but just letting ya know that it will not be 5,000 kills in a couple weeks. And yes, it will keep your progress.

If they did this at the start of the game I would've been fine with it but it's over I'm completely burnt out of Battlefront 2 to care to spend like 10-20 hours grinding 1 skin and then rarely playing him. I'm getting to 2500 kills and then just waiting.
If you're burned out then why even play and complain about it? I'm not being an ass... I'm honestly asking out of curiosity for why people are unhappy about it and for why people burn out on games so quickly (though I know in this case it hasn't been quickly). It's not like there is a time limit, so just play some at it, then take time off from it and come back later. Earning it piecemeal prevents burnout and let's you enjoy the game.

The amount of kills is ridiculous. I guess I'm not the only one who collected credits before the update came out. And now those hundreds of thousands credits are just useless. In my opinion this update was disappointing with the whole communication around it.
Yeah, kinda pissed about the credits and crystals I have that aren't good for anything anymore... thank goodness I didn't ever spend actual money on crystals. Also really pissed that I can no longer access the appearance I had bought simply because I bought the celebration edition.

Hell yes! Happened to me yesterday in the second Death Star at the LAST command post in co-op when every AI player and his dog is coming at the four of us. I barely held on the last minute until we won the mission, but it was NOT easy and frustrated the hell out of me.
It is almost funny how incredibly bad I am at this game, I’ve been playing since 2017 and I still end up at the bottom of the scoreboard almost all the time. Bruh can we trade play time. I've only managed to get like 2 hours of going for the Maul skin total, I might already have it with that dedication (I currently have like 500 kills). I respect your dedication and understand why you'd want this to change. Right now I'm torn between loving the challenge and knowing it'll be rare or wanting to die because I keep getting dragged to other games/light side co-op.

I’ve noticed the AI difficulty increase dramatically too. I get 60-80 kills in Co-op now which isn’t bad but before the skin hype I would get 100-120 or sometimes even higher depending on the map(Kamino or republic cruiser)
Agreed. At least let the offline kills count. With all the maul hoggs and people waiting in the re spawn menu, it's darn right impossible. I've only gotten 58 kills in 3 days. Not cool.

I like the 5000 kills deal, but totally agree that offline should count as well, though maybe with settings requirements so people aren't knocking out 500 a match in arcade with one hit kills and weak AI with no friendly teammates.
I have 9 now... But I could only get 1 kill with Maul on my first attempt because I ran out of stamina too quickly and I was surrounded. On my second attempt I got the other 8 and I raged out and I'm just waiting for the devs to lower it.
Ok I already have the skin here's what I recommend. Play CO OP and grind these maps Mos Eisly, Jabbas Palace, Kashyyyk, CW capital ships, Yavin, Hoth, and Naboo. These are the best maps I've found to going the maul kills

Conman- 2009 I know lol! It’s so annoying! Back in the day I played and unlocked the Farmboy Luke appearance when that event became available (the second time) but when the May the Force be with you “Princess” event arrived, I ignored it (not once but both times lol) because I never played Leia due to her being an uninteresting “blaster hero.” Now fast-forward just a few months and wouldn’t you know Leia has become my new main🙄. Don’t ask me what converted me cuz I have no idea lol! I figured since this was the last update all the skins that were missed could now be unlocked in a reasonable fashion. Imagine my utter horror when I discovered the BS that is 5,000 kills lol! The “Princess” skin is my fav appearance and now I gotta grind hard as hell to attain it. I feel like I’ve played a good 25 rounds of Co-Op back-to-back and just barely broke a whopping 400🤦🏾♂️) Meanwhile I see other players who use her in all other modes (utilizing the “Princess” skin I might add) and I’m like, Ohhh if only I had.....” I compare it to the girl you shunned in middle school who had the braces and acne. In high-school you never really saw her so you figure she either dropped out from the shame of it all or maybe moved to a different school. All of a sudden you run into her at college and she’s now a smooth skinned supermodel with a hunk bf that all the guys and their brothers are after! In a phrase....”Life sucks serious monkey nuts sometimes lol!”

If they had a skin like this for each character that's fine because then you dont have to worry about which hero you get, but because this is localised to Maul there is almost no chance of getting to pick him when in a match, which boils the vast majority of the challenge down to luck more then skill or time investment

You are a grandma after all. Or get some friends to help grind it for you and y’all take turns. But you might have to sacrifice the crap-tube just so in case you come out of it, it’s doesn’t look like the scene from Terminator 2: Judgment Day where everyone is a skeleton
Yes they should change the number of kills also, The offline players aren't going to have any chance to play with this skin, so make the kills count for arcade or instant action too.
i don’t think the kill amount should be lowered because it rewards longer term, more skilled players who have already put so much time and effort into this game and it makes sense that it will take a bit longer for the newer players and i honestly don’t think there’s a problem with that because people have something to do now

I’ve been playing with him so much and it’s come to the point where i only use his spin to get around faster, the hit registration is god awful with it, and the throw does damage maybe 5/10 times
People don’t realize it takes hours just to 5k kills with a regular soldier. If you average 100 kills a game in co-op, that’s still 50 games you have to play. Let alone having to do it with a hero
Unpopular opinion: I actually like it being 5000 kills because it will keep me active on the game for another couple of months at least. Also I like it when skins are rare and hard to get.
Best star cards to grind in Co-op: less blaster damage, extra damage when choking 2 or more enemies, and faster recharge for abilities. You get in close, do some damage, and choke a whole pack of clones. Back up, rinse and repeat.
Everytime I play as maul has abilities freeze and cannot be used at all anyone else experiencing this. It's when I use the lightsabre thrown the abilities just cannot be used
They should sell the skin for 80K credits and have the option to do the challenge. It's kind of a slap in the face now; I've had the game since 2017 probably have at least a couple thousand kills as maul.
I agree with pelle hansen. Plus, as the people hogging him get the skin over the next couple of weeks it'll lighten up a lot. I'm using that time to get better since the AI is so much more intense right now.
Darth Revan only when u have a hero tho lmao. Playing as an officer, heavy, or assault is like playing actual bots but as soon as u get a hero the aimbot gets turned up to the max lol
I would understand 5k if every hero got a new legendary skin all individually locked by a 3k kill milstone, witch would cause players to not all be waiting on maul instead would cause players to play other heros and free up others
This may bite me in the butt , but my tip would be stack battle points for the first half of any coop game i play as heavy i usually stack 12 - 20k and depending on your skill you could finish the game as a hero. Honestly when i cant get maul i play grevious since i still need his emote and victory pose there are still people without farmboy and princess skins so idk why everyone's playing as maul.

I practically suck shit when in Galactic Assault & Supremacy but I'm getting better little by little in co-op because the AI seems to adjust and get more intense when more kick ass players are in there like it is now.
I kinda think it was a too many kills to get the skin because personally I didn't get the Leia and Luke event skin and with the new update you can get them with 5000 kills each but that takes alot of time and I can't sit around all day grinding kills
It needs to be lowered or changed. I’m at 1k right now, and I’ve played about 4.5 hours of co-op to get that, but honestly it’s no fun at all and is extremely tiring. Oh boy, I can’t wait to sentry farm bots, respawn, get Maul, rinse and repeat a million times. It’s exhausting and takes the fun out of the game. It’s also made Supremacy a mess, because anytime you’re on the Empire or CIS you can expect about 1/3 of your team to be menu camping for Maul. If they leave it at 5K, they at least need to let it be completed in IA.

Let me give you advice. PLAY AS ANY DARK SIDE HERO ON CO-OP OR MULTIPLAYER. Go to career/hero and look at old master, 5,000 eliminations with ANY dark side hero
They talked about modifying the challenge so it less time consuming. I think that is a good idea because everyone is trying to play as Maul right now, and I may take some time for the current Maul player in the match to be defeated.
i have the skin and it is so worth it even though its not 100% accurate to star wars rebels but its a good looking skin the robot legs make sounds as you run which is a nice touch
They modified the challenge already u only have to play as any dark side hero to get the 5000 kills I recommend emperor palpatine u can rack up alot of kills in one game
I think they should make it 5000 kills in offline and online modes so that offline players can also get it ( including me ) and then it’ll be easier since you can always play as darth maul whenever you are in arcade and instant action. They should maybe also lower it to maybe 4000

Ok I already have the skin here's what I recommend. Play CO OP and grind these maps Mos Eisly, Jabbas Palace, Kashyyyk, CW capital ships, Yavin, Hoth, and Naboo. These are the best maps I've found to going the maul kills
TEACH ME MASTER! Now to the serious part. Do they go only for Maul in Empire coop too? Just asking so I can try again in a better place if they lower the kills

Conman- 2009 I know lol! It’s so annoying! Back in the day I played and unlocked the Farmboy Luke appearance when that event became available (the second time) but when the May the Force be with you “Princess” event arrived, I ignored it (not once but both times lol) because I never played Leia due to her being an uninteresting “blaster hero.” Now fast-forward just a few months and wouldn’t you know Leia has become my new main🙄. Don’t ask me what converted me cuz I have no idea lol!
I figured since this was the last update all the skins that were missed could now be unlocked in a reasonable fashion. Imagine my utter horror when I discovered the BS that is 5,000 kills lol! The “Princess” skin is my fav appearance and now I gotta grind hard as hell to attain it. I feel like I’ve played a good 25 rounds of Co-Op back-to-back and just barely broke a whopping 400🤦🏾♂️)
Meanwhile I see other players who use her in all other modes (utilizing the “Princess” skin I might add) and I’m like, Ohhh if only I had.....” I compare it to the girl you shunned in middle school who had the braces and acne. In high-school you never really saw her so you figure she either dropped out from the shame of it all or maybe moved to a different school. All of a sudden you run into her at college and she’s now a smooth skinned supermodel with a hunk bf that all the guys and their brothers are after! In a phrase....”Life sucks serious monkey nuts sometimes lol!”
I know, because I don’t own neither farm boy or princess that means I have to get around 15,000 kills with 3 different hero’s. And I’m already bored of BF2.

Luke’s Farmboy appearance and Leia’s Princess appearance are also unlockable for 5,000 kills.
I thought it was 500😂 so I sweated co op for an hour and I was really excited but then I was disappointed when it said 5000

If they had a skin like this for each character that's fine because then you dont have to worry about which hero you get, but because this is localised to Maul there is almost no chance of getting to pick him when in a match, which boils the vast majority of the challenge down to luck more then skill or time investment
Pitting the community against each other sucks - surprised DICE didn't learn this when they released heroes one at a time
This definitely needs to be lowered, with everyone doing it, it takes the fun out of the game for me

TeaWithGrandma You’re going to need some de aging cream and a cryogenic tube. You’ll need to apply the de aging cream every play session then when you rest you’ll need to get in the cryo-tube. You are a grandma after all. Or get some friends to help grind it for you and y’all take turns. But you might have to sacrifice the crap-tube just so in case you come out of it, it’s doesn’t look like the scene from Terminator 2: Judgment Day where everyone is a skeleton
Yes they should change the number of kills also, The offline players aren't going to have any chance to play with this skin, so make the kills count for arcade or instant action too.
Not arcade you can make yourself a literal god and them one hits and get five thousand in less than 4 hours.
But maybe expert difficultyninstant action and instant action missions

i don’t think the kill amount should be lowered because it rewards longer term, more skilled players who have already put so much time and effort into this game and it makes sense that it will take a bit longer for the newer players and i honestly don’t think there’s a problem with that because people have something to do now
It definitely needs to be changed before they tire everyone out of this game I already want to stop playing because of this it just seems like a chore more than a game now
I think it should be lowered. I simply don't have enough time to grind for that long.
I’ve been playing with him so much and it’s come to the point where i only use his spin to get around faster, the hit registration is god awful with it, and the throw does damage maybe 5/10 times
I am at 1250 kills rn, by doing this exact thing 3hrs a day so far, it seems to work and I dont get burnt out or anything
When I started this my maul was on 45 now he’s on 140 and it’s still going up. I’m close to getting the skin too
People don’t realize it takes hours just to 5k kills with a regular soldier. If you average 100 kills a game in co-op, that’s still 50 games you have to play. Let alone having to do it with a hero
Unpopular opinion: I actually like it being 5000 kills because it will keep me active on the game for another couple of months at least. Also I like it when skins are rare and hard to get.

Best star cards to grind in Co-op: less blaster damage, extra damage when choking 2 or more enemies, and faster recharge for abilities. You get in close, do some damage, and choke a whole pack of clones. Back up, rinse and repeat.
Everytime I play as maul has abilities freeze and cannot be used at all anyone else experiencing this. It's when I use the lightsabre thrown the abilities just cannot be used
They should sell the skin for 80K credits and have the option to do the challenge. It's kind of a slap in the face now; I've had the game since 2017 probably have at least a couple thousand kills as maul.

Darth Revan use heavy with explosive bullets you will always get him first
I agree with pelle hansen. Plus, as the people hogging him get the skin over the next couple of weeks it'll lighten up a lot. I'm using that time to get better since the AI is so much more intense right now.

Darth Revan only when u have a hero tho lmao. Playing as an officer, heavy, or assault is like playing actual bots but as soon as u get a hero the aimbot gets turned up to the max lol

I would understand 5k if every hero got a new legendary skin all individually locked by a 3k kill milstone, witch would cause players to not all be waiting on maul instead would cause players to play other heros and free up others
if you are playing co op to unlock this skin do the galactic empire since maul is available there and most people will be doing the separatist
This may bite me in the butt , but my tip would be stack battle points for the first half of any coop game i play as heavy i usually stack 12 - 20k and depending on your skill you could finish the game as a hero. Honestly when i cant get maul i play grevious since i still need his emote and victory pose there are still people without farmboy and princess skins so idk why everyone's playing as maul.
I think it's good that you need 5000 kills because we are in quarantine in it gives us a reason to stay in the game.

@@plop7952 Right?! This isn't unachievable. In fact, if playing in co-op it forces you to get better. I practically suck shit when in Galactic Assault & Supremacy but I'm getting better little by little in co-op because the AI seems to adjust and get more intense when more kick ass players are in there like it is now.

I kinda think it was a too many kills to get the skin because personally I didn't get the Leia and Luke event skin and with the new update you can get them with 5000 kills each but that takes alot of time and I can't sit around all day grinding kills
...Or just get the mod on PC that replaces Maul's default skin with the new one 😂

Yeah , i am guilty of that. I usually try hard and get maul most of the time. I get 100+ kills like 6/10 out of the time
A funny bug is that when I played as Maul on OT in co-op, the announcer voice would be a CIS voice instead of the Empire 🤣

It needs to be lowered or changed. I’m at 1k right now, and I’ve played about 4.5 hours of co-op to get that, but honestly it’s no fun at all and is extremely tiring. Oh boy, I can’t wait to sentry farm bots, respawn, get Maul, rinse and repeat a million times. It’s exhausting and takes the fun out of the game. It’s also made Supremacy a mess, because anytime you’re on the Empire or CIS you can expect about 1/3 of your team to be menu camping for Maul. If they leave it at 5K, they at least need to let it be completed in IA.

Badly Burnt Fart Smell This is how I see it. The BF2 team is working on Battlefield 6 and the its been confirmed two new Star Wars games are already in developed. Maybe... MAYBE.... BF3 will be developed after the 3 games have been released. So maybe in 2023 or 2024?

I'm at 1408 kills, and I got 1000ish yesterday alone. My bday is Monday and want to get the skin then, or at least when my Maul saber I bought comes on Wednesday. If it was 3-4K it would have been sm easier

Let me give you advice. PLAY AS ANY DARK SIDE HERO ON CO-OP OR MULTIPLAYER. Go to career/hero and look at old master, 5,000 eliminations with ANY dark side hero

They talked about modifying the challenge so it less time consuming. I think that is a good idea because everyone is trying to play as Maul right now, and I may take some time for the current Maul player in the match to be defeated.
I think they should have made the kill wall be only one thousand, and done this for multiple skins.
i have the skin and it is so worth it even though its not 100% accurate to star wars rebels but its a good looking skin the robot legs make sounds as you run which is a nice touch
They modified the challenge already u only have to play as any dark side hero to get the 5000 kills I recommend emperor palpatine u can rack up alot of kills in one game

I think they should make it 5000 kills in offline and online modes so that offline players can also get it ( including me ) and then it’ll be easier since you can always play as darth maul whenever you are in arcade and instant action. They should maybe also lower it to maybe 4000

2500 kills is the most a casual player should work for to unlock an appearance in a video game.
