    sorry but you can turn safe on and off with a assigned switch. the when you are on the ground turn SAFE off to turn. read the Manuel again and assign a switch and don’t forget the sticks go to the inside lower corners to assign a switch.

    I love using safe as a back-up, I use to couple it with the retracts, so on when landing and taking off, but I would flip the switch when I had a "oh crap" moment. Saves the airplane in an instant. Settle down, turn safe off and go back to flying.

  • @TheMossie111
    @TheMossie111 Před 5 lety +7

    You can set up a switch to turn safe on and off if you have a 7 channel receiver. With the ax3x receiver you cant unless you do not use flaps and use that channel for safe on/off.

    This is awesome for pilots that are afraid to get into the edf jet world! It will open doors for many and that is what the beginner needs. I have been flying since 1991 and have been in the edf world since the beginning and sure wish this was available back when they first surfaced lol. I always say edf jets are a gateway "Drug" to turbines ;) keep up the awesome job guys ✈

    Very nice maiden and flying! Looks like a blast and locks in nicely. I'm on the fence between this beautiful Viper 70mm and the EF Habu SS 70mm. I realize the retracts and flaps are apples to oranges here, but there's something about the needle-nose Habu SS 70mm that attracts me.

    In my opinion this is the best plane Eflight has ever made for the price; just ahead of the Areo Scout.

    I’ve flown in with a Lectron 5200mah about 2 inches back. Because of the battery weight it really didn’t allow any longer of a flight time.

    Great video guys. On my Dx6e I would assume I could just assign SAFE as a separate switch and combine landing gear and flaps.

  • @HIBBIED
    @HIBBIED Před 5 lety +5

    Hi guys. You missed one vital bit of instruction.
    You can easily assign SAFE to a switch. After binding in SAFE mode, hold both sticks in the inside corners. Flip the switch you want SAFE assigned to 5 times. Make sure your dual rates are on 100% while doing this. Now SAFE on or off is on that switch.

    • @MerryBoozerRC

      to do that correctly on this plane you need at least a 7 channel radio, otherwise it can be done with assigning to flaps then safe is on when deplying flaps and off when flaps are up

  • @DavesRc
    @DavesRc Před 5 lety +1

    So you have to do the binding process all over again to take the safe mode off . I heard you saying that you were really getting into the sticks to maneuver it. I still say that the little freewing mig 15 is the best starter jet. Let me explain. It has a really nice damage model. I have crashed mine many times and it still looks and flys as good as the day I bought it from you guys. The panther is also a really good one, if you can master the tricky hand launch. I have a feeling that if that viper smashes the ground that nose is going to disintegrate into pieces. The mig and panther are tuff little bitches and can take the relentless punishment.

    Dude! Duuude! Oh man, dude! I raced RC cars for years and at every event, there were at least 3/4 of the people there had the name "dude"
    If you holler dude, 50 guys turned around and looked. lol
    As others have said, assign a switch to turn safe on and off. Also, when in safe the flaps work flawless without any mixing.

    safe can be assigned to any channel 5-9 and any 2 or 3 position switch on transmitter.
    Simply hold both sticks down and in and actuate chosen switch 5 times
    safe no able to be turned on/off anytime even in midflight. I've had safe receivers in my EDF for over a year now so my son can fly them including my freewing Mig 21 f-104 my fly fly F4 Phantom my Dynam 262 excetera excetera excetera

    Hello Pilot Ryan. I have an opportunity to get the Viper. I’m able to fly the Valiant, T28, MPD Commander, Cirrus, Advanced Conscendo, Timber, Cherokee, Wildcat, Waco, and the V900. I’m still very nervous when flying my V900 because I have to really watch my bank angles to ensure I don’t over rotate. Do you think I would enjoy flying the Viper? Is the flying experience pure speed like the V900 or is it
    different?

    Thank you so much Pilot Ryan and Capt. Mike. This is really a great info and review for this EDF jet. I have been looking and waiting for a first EDF jet for a long time. I've been flying mostly warbirds and this EDF jet looks like a good first EDF jet. It would be nice to see if you can also turn the SAFE on/off during the flight. Any recommendation for the Lipo batt that is available at MotionRC. Thanks in advance...

      Adam Hampton we flew 5000 4500 and 4000. You have to trim the bottom of the canopy a little bit. I think 4000 is as heavy as you want to go. We did another video where we showed how to do safe at the field and then flew it with the heavy packs. I think rcjetwerx May have some roaring top batts that are in the 3000-4000 range which I’d say are best.

      You have to buy the spektrum module that plugs into the back of your Taranis and go into the menu and turn on ppm for spektrum receivers there are a lot of tutorials that explain how to use it. I have a Taranis coming from the racing quad world. And love all the eflite safe wings and planes.

    • @gpaje
      @gpaje Před 4 lety +2

      Yes, it's called Safe-select because it allows you to turn it off and on with a switch. When on, it limits your banking angles, and levels the aircraft should you let go of the sticks. A good way to train new pilots and save experience pilots bacon should they screw up. You can then turn it off and have not limits. I use it as a safety button, save my planes many times as I was learning.
