    Glad to hear you talk about weight. Not a lot of people think about the extra unsprung weight that tires can have. Some brands are much heavier. Switch a lighter forged wheel and stick with a slightly lighter tire and you could save 15-20lbs per wheel/tire combo.

    I run 37/12.5R17 MT 02s on my Gladiator because Matt said so! The tires have exceeded my expectations on and off road. Their on-road wet performance is probably the most surprising feature. Plenty of grip in this situation like what you'd except from an A/T tire. They're quiet and grippy in all situations I've put them in. Highly recommended.

    I bought a set of the original Milestar MT's for my JKU about 7 months ago and I love them. I decided to get them because of your videos. If the can handle what you do to them then they for sure can handle what I do. I drive tons of gravel and dirt/mud roads and have had zero issues with the original MT's. When they do wear out i"m planning on getting a set of MT02's. I will see y'all at the MOORE Expo.

    I really appreciate this video! Researching new 37 inch tires for the gen 6 bronco. The weight is really leading me to these tires (mainly cause of IFS). The longevity was a little concern. Especially since i drive a lot from NE Indiana to have good overlanding experiences. Tires are such a rabbit hole with RT, XT, AT, and such, but you really explained real-world experiences very well. Good info, Matt. I'm about to retire my 2nd set of 38" original Pats. I've got over 40K miles out of them and they've been great (I'm religious about rotating every 2K miles). I've seen some sidewalls issues on the trails, but nothing personally. I originally planned to go with another brand this time around, but the price on these still can't be beat and I don't have enough negative to justify switching. I haven't tried the latest version though, so hopefully they have improved the durability there. I'm running 35's on a JKUR and not getting too crazy. Tires I also run are Nitto, Cooper, and BF Goodrich. I'd love to go back to the Milestars if they fixed the sidewall issue.

Wanted an MT with good performance but a little less noisy than the Goodyears and was on the fence on pulling the trigger on the Milestar MT02's. Think I will really like them. Have the Micky Thompson Baja MTZ's on my JK and have been very happy with those tires as well, but wanted to try something else on the TJ.

    Great video! I love my Patagonia tires. I ran the Falken Wildpeak’s MTs before them and…..in my opinion the Patagonia is a better all around tire. It would be great if you could do a video comparison with vs STT Pros. Showing aired down foot print comparison. To see which tire has a better ground contact, and flex around a object. I recently seen a video where a guy had the same size tire stt pro on one vehicle and the km3 on another. Then he aired them down to the exact same air pressure and put them through the paces. He drove both vehicles so there was no difference in the driving. It was surprising how well they compared to each other. You really couldn’t see a difference between the two in the mud, rocks, and over slippery roots. It was also a great video.

    I just picked up a set of the Padagonia XT tires and so far am loving them. I don't want a full MT tire since it's my daily driver and I have an hour (one way) commute, so the XT was the next logical choice given the incredible value compared to other "hybrid" tires. I paid $183 each for 265/75R16, and they have a 40k mile warranty. Unfortunately they are an E rated tire, but on my first trail outing on them I aired down to 15psi and didn't have any complaints.

I sold them because of the air pressure vs. noise annoyance. When aired up to 37 on the Taco, and 39 on the F-150, they were acceptably quiet and rode on the crown but the ride was a lot harsh. Setting to a more comfortable pressure, they'd run more on the shoulders but were noticeably louder than the Cooper STT Pros I have on my JK. They also did not eject mud, which is disappointing if you're interested in a good MT.

  • @TwoFeatherChannel
    @TwoFeatherChannel Před rokem +2

    Patagonia is the best All Around tire
    being that they compound is softer, it acts like a Sticky on rocks.
    for a MT, it also rides like an AT on the highway.
    No tire does 100% in all categories. a full blown MT is noisy on the highway and a full AT will get you stuck in the mud.

    I have the original MTs in 37x12.50x17 and my front tires cupped bad at 21k miles. I didn't rotate so my fault i guess. They also SUCK in the rain. I have them in 35 on a jk and 37s are on a Gladiator. Both will spin and skid in the rain. Didn't happen with the previous Goodyear Kevlar.

      @OzarkOverlandAdventures Před 7 měsíci

      I have not removed my heat shield even with my 38s. The key is having the Clayton Offroad rear trackbar with the bend in it to accommodate the larger spare.

    • @redbeastadventures
      @redbeastadventures Před měsícem

      @@OzarkOverlandAdventures Thanks for the response. I should have just asked for your loaded tire height measurement. With the revs per mile, you can calculate the approximate loaded tire height to get an idea of how big the tire is installed. Here is the calc for my Toyo 37s with 569 revs per mile, 63360/569/3.1416 = 35.44”. Fairly accurate as mine measured out at 35.5” loaded. The measured tire height is really what I need to determine how much extra room I need in the fender to fit these tires on my truck. I am currently running 37s with no rubbing at full flex and full lock. Although your loaded tire height will be slightly different than on my truck, it would give me a good idea of actual loaded tire size. My truck is probably 800 lbs heavier than yours loaded based on watching your videos. Can you provide me your loaded tire height measurement?
