    The problem with this is that games like Genshin are purposefully made to make you feel like you're missing out, they're made to make you feel you have to login every day and do everything OR spend money to speed up every process, because otherwise it's like leaving things on the table. If you have realized you need to fight that bundle of psychological manipulation, do yourself and your mental health a favor and play a normal game.

    • @negaro9113
      @negaro9113 Před 11 měsíci +5

      Its a completely normal game, it neither forces you to pay money because it never had aggressive monetization like games like clash Royale, or other ea games, indie games aren't fun either after a few hours, genshin has hundred of hours of content, idk what you expected getting into gacha game where you need to build characters unlike single player stuff, ig I don't have fomo, plus I'm lucky with gacha anyways as a free 2p but every game has a burn out phase

    I almost got burned out 2 times and these are the things that worked out for me :
    - take a break. And if you really feel guilty about missing out ask a close and trustworthy friend to do the basics stuff on your account for a while. I did that for a week and then I was quite satisfied to come back.
    - start building a character that you always wanted to play but never have been your Priority. New character = new gameplay = fun. But don’t pressure yourself to make them perfect
    - don’t do the same stuff. Sometimes I don’t have time and speedrun dailies and resin, other times I’m full grind for builds, sometimes just calm exploration, sometimes I do quests.
    - coop. Helped a lot.
    - don’t try to pull on every single banner. Most of the time you will not get what you want (or everything you want) so you can be frustrated. And if you do, you might so many characters at the same time for the few ressources you have. As said in the video, reruns always come back. By being patient you don’t pick priorities and don’t frustrated and overwhelmed.

    So far haven't felt any real burn-out, but the only thing bugging me is doing those commissions where they want you to interact with NPC's. I just wanna explore, solve puzzles and enter battles for chests. But once that's dried it's dried up. SO, I am hyped for Fountaine. I love playing this game on my freetime but when I have freetime I can't actually play much of it anyway...

      You should try your best to exolore less I can control the urge to Raiden shogun a fkcm camp and get a chest lol, I've held sumeru exploration, about to complete liyue and inazuma, the tree is the best addition to this game exploration wise it's rewards are good for the effort, the green region of sumeru is a pain to explore and not thst fun compared to desert so it naturally helped me to stop urge to do, now after Fontaine release I'll still be doing sumeru lol

    I remember when I started the game, it was Venti’s first banner and COVID happened. Two of my friends already played the game and they’ve been guiding mi in Liyue. We played almost everyday for one year. It was really fun. We had a discord server and talk while exploring, even though it does not have a PVP but showing off our highest crit dmg etc was really rewarding. I remember really wanting to have a Diluc on my team (as the other friend always shows off and Diluc that time was a big deal), so I spent all my primos on the standard banner as that time my friend kept on telling me I can get him then I got a skyward harp. I disconnected from the server and they were laughing, they just played me 😂 I stopped for a week then I got Childe on my next pull, skyward was not a waste. Soon one of them got married, that left the two of us playing. Until I got bored as it was so repetitive. Now 2+ years since release, I live in a different country, one guy’s married, the other guy has a business, I still sometimes open GI and and stroll around.
    Missed those days.

    One trick I picked up along the way is to pace myself. When I was in school, I always left Archon Quests and long World quests until a break or long weekend. Otherwise, I limited myself to an hour or two of playtime during the school year. Since I graduated back in May, I usually try to time myself by logging off the minute I get bored and start asking if there was anything else I needed done.

I'm okay with artifacts etc... I love the game except those parts.. I hate all the fomo and u gotta finish some stuff even tho you don't have time or not in the mood to do it right now.. soo I guess I'm not coming back

    One of the main things that made me quit was the introduction of dendro and sepcifically hyperbloom. The pure brokeness of such a team made me feel like 2 years of farming, grinding, building the perfect melt or vaporize team was worthless because now we can out damage everything with a f2p kuki and/or nahida.

    • @eva5370
      @eva5370 Před 11 měsíci +1

      I think dendro/hyperbloom is what made me interested in genshin again after taking a long break. I got bored of using the same vape/freeze teams over and over again so it was a nice addition for f2ps that want variety.

A method I don't recommend is buying 6 consecutive Welkin Moons, that forces you to log in every day until you run out lest you waste irl money.

  • @CarlottaStudios
    @CarlottaStudios Před 9 měsíci +3

    This video was exactly what I needed to watch right now.
    For context, I was an extremely casual player who only completed the Liyue archon quest until version 3.8 dropped. I really wanted to participate in the Secret Summer Paradise event and in Kaeya’s hangout, but had so much catching up to do in terms of quests. So I speedran the Chasm quests, the Dainsleif quests, Inazuma and Sumeru in a little over a week, just a couple days before version 3.8 dropped. It was intense and exhausting, although I was impressed that I managed to do it and I was grateful for the rewards like mora and character EXP materials. After that, I really enjoyed the event and Kaeya’s hangout, but then I realized that there were so many world quests and story quests left that I hadn’t even touched yet, not to mention so much exploration I hadn’t completed yet. The sheer amount of content this game has, coupled with the exhaustion from my speed-running the main story, has made the prospect of continuing to play hugely daunting, to the point I’ve even considered quitting entirely (the main reason I haven’t yet is because I love the sereniteapot, probably the only 100% chill aspect of this game). And I felt bad about feeling that way because I felt that might invalidate everything I’ve out into playing this game so far, and felt bad for even considering taking a break because of the fear I’d miss out on daily rewards and stuff, which is weird come to think of it because I don’t actually care about pulling new characters and weapons and stuff (I’m basic, I like the older characters more and I’ve already gotten all the characters I really want to use).
    So this video was a major wake-up call and exactly the advice I’ve been needing to hear. Thank you so much for making this video. I’ll definitely be taking a long break from Genshin now, and I’ll try to only come back to it once I’m entirely ready for it. Also, sorry for this long and fairly personal ramble ^^;

  • @BlueStorm988
    @BlueStorm988 Před měsícem

    Some of these are pretty great advice.
    Personally myself I've just been feeling un-motivated to complete any of the quests or events because just doing them is already enough to burn me out, much less think about doing the ones I missed out on fills me with dread. With the grand release of arlecchino I got myself to get back into the game and used my saved up fates to wish for her, and I got her! BUT I did get Lyney's bow *twice* which sorta set me off a little bit-
    Not feeling like spending any money on a game I probably wont play for a while is what got me here and try to motivate myself to do all the quests I missed out on. I play on iOS too so maybe that could be part of the issue to. As I've said before, just thinking about doing all the quests I've missed out on fills me with dread. After this patch is done I'll probably not play it until the next big quest comes out, whenever that may be. (next patch maybe?)

    When she said take it slow “again”, I realized I’ve never taken it slow. When I started a month ago I played everyday for a while, and finished all the archon quests in under a month. In another month I had good damage and a good amount of five star characters that were level 90. I had milked my world of primos and had nothing to do and spent most of my time thinking what to do. Now I’m in very late game and I’m farming artifacts for yanfei so I can have 2 dps for spiral abyss. I think this is the reason I got burned out, so much artifact farming, spending all my time in Genshin, and rushing through the game hours on end every day just to satisfy myself from day one. This has given me a new eye on things, now I plan to slow down and take breaks, because this is just too much. Thanks so much!

    Ig it's me who never has burn out, considering Ive been playing 2+ years, still hasn't built a perfect team for abyss just reached floor 11 chamber 3 with mid characters, I'm lucky with gacha, exploration content and scenery plus music is what makes this game perfect for me and is plenty compared to majority open world games with similar graphics and world design , a game doesn't need to have badly balanced bosses like elden ring( which were actually nerfed and majority of bosses are reskins with high hp and damage capabilities) which takes hours and Hours to defeat with the same cycle of roll dodge, look for opening and attack ( it's definitely an incredible game no argument but people let games like these slide with the same critiscms) , it's the same with genshin cause it seems the most logical way to design, the catch being genshin is significantly easier , idk why people associate burn out with "genshin bad" as if people don't burn out in any game.and I've not paid a single penny and even got a welkin lol

      Honestly I'm with you, except I've only been playing the game for about a year
      Before playing Genshin, I also went through burnput after playing another open-world game since there wasn't really much to do other than explore different realms which felt so empty because of its vastness
      Although Genshin has many aspects that I'm still not satisfied, I still enjoy the game for its overall experience that felt completely different from the previous games I've played

It really hit me after hitting floor 12 of the abyss and knowing that I can do it for me to decide to only do events and log out of genshin because I want albedo and itto when they rerun. And eventually I'll stop playing long enough to get stellar reunion for those extra materials to use on itto and albedo. Great video, I also enjoy running around just opening chests to get my dailies done after they implement that feature. Its more enjoyable then doing the same commission everyday, takes about 8 chests to finish all 4 dailies, also just collecting event rewards count as well, after learning all that it's a bit more enjoyable, then I'll just spend a little resin and hop off, 20 mins a day for me works, burnout it tough though, great video like I said 👌👍

    Disclaimer: I am not burned out on Genshin (yet) and I believe that when I finally burn out, I won't be returning to the game. I still watch your video out of curiosity.
    7:00 personally I find Sumeru commissions way faster and easier than Mondstadt ones. But it may be because I had commissions set to Mondstadt for good part of two years straight, trying to get all achievements locked behind Mondstadt commissions. I kinda burned out on them I guess...?
    7:20 that helping low AR players thing... there's big competition in that market nowadays. Seems there's always ton of people scanning co-op lists and trying to join low AR players or players that have any kind of "help me" in their signature, up to the level that such people either don't react or decline co-op requests, or already have somebody joined. Speaking from personal experience as that's exactly what I'm trying to do sometimes when I'm done with my stuff but don't want to log out yet.
    Personally I'm trying to avoid burnout by being a completionist. As long as there is enough different things to complete, I can work on them in any order, giving variety to my experience. For the longest time, I was working on getting all my characters all leveled up. By that I mean level 90, own level 90 weapon, 8/8/8 or better talents, and own full +20 set of artifacts (not necessary godlike). That took me good two years to complete but I reached it eventually and it was a bit surprising how when I suddenly had no character left to level up, it left a noticable hole in my Genshin experience. I have other things to do though, things like getting all TCG cards and their animations, crafting 10+ pieces of every teapot furnishing, getting all achievements, and reaching true 100% exploration. Some of them refresh, we're getting new characters, new areas, new cards, new furnishings, and so on and so forth. But maybe one day when I hit the ceiling on them all at once, I will truly burn out on Genshin and stop playing.

    For me, Genshin is still relatively "new" and I'm not burned out yet, although I play for at least a year already. I play pretty much casually anyways, but sometimes it does burn me out, especially missing the auto-grind option like in star rail, but I guess, it won't come to genshin any time soon. Also, I have more than just genshin to play, even if they are quite similar in concept of daily stuff and thus could make me burned out. I have many quests still open, be it genshin or other games (also star rail) and I do them if I have time and when I want to. Sure, I get why many can get burned out and it depends on the games but also on how you play them. I'm guilty in "having to do my daily commissions" in genshin since as a low spender but still rather not spending if not for a certain character I want to farm and not miss out on primos (even if I still have many primos waiting in quests but they're not time gated so they can wait).
